I've been doing ALOT of research trying to decide what controller i'm going to buy. All of the reviewers of the Cyclone 2 seem to really like it. And so i've made up my mind i'm going to pull the trigger on the Cyclone 2. And I was prepared to spend alot more but with this controller there's no need as it is everything I want at such a great price. Thank you for the review!
I feel privileged to know that I was able to bring you valuable data. Thank you very much for taking the time to share your journey with me and I wish you A LOT of happy gaming with the Cyclone 2. It's A-MA-ZING!
If there is anyone who knows controllers, it's you. I ordered the Cyclone 2 based on your recommendation. Even used the link provided below to order it from the Gamesir website. However, the discount code did not work for me. Probably due to my location in South Asia. Thank you for making this heartfelt, helpful, and original video. I really appreciate it. Happy New Year man.
Considering the forex, international delivery fees, and the international taxes, I would have to say yes Sir, I did get a good price! They are pretty amazing. Thank you for your wishes and thanks again for your suggestions, as well as the extremely informative videos. They truly help someone looking for genuine, unbiased options.
This guy's energy is phenomenal. I ourchased the G7 SE based on a video and now really want this, thiugh the version without the dock but the SE is so great. Perhaps i will in the coming months. Subbed
Thank you for your review. A good casual controller with improvements from the first model. But I'm waiting for the G7 Pro. And like "fighting" player, I disagree about d-pad, especially if we are talking about SF6, KOF or Guilty Gear - it is totally not ok.
I'll update my fighting title in due time, I have had quite a fair amount of people address it, directly or subtly 😅 I just need a bit of time to cool down, get off the "cruise control" speed and access to re-evaluate my process but rest assured that it'll happen. Thanks friend!
@@GameTechTalk Yes, I can understand your feelings about this controller. For its price it is a gem! I love white version very much. I hope the G7 Pro will be for everyone. I respect Gamesir and hope they will make a competitor for Flydigi Vader 4PRo or Beitong Kunpeng 40, especially if we are talking about d-pad.
@@WhoButBilly If Steam went and got a controller licensed with GameSir, what a BAWSS move that would be. I'm excited for us all to learn more when the time comes!
Anyone who uses a contoller for hard use knows they all eventually fail in some way. You might as well get this one. $55 with a charging station? No drift and uncentered sticks out of the box, 1000 pr? You cant ask for a better controller at this price. At this price buy 2 for when you eventually have to swap it. And youll still be laying less than these other "pro" controllers that have issues right out of the box.
Yup, you unlocked the code! Nothing against some popular brand options but GameSir is just knocking it out for a fraction of the price and not at all a fraction of the quality/features.
At least since Microsoft started to make controllers with planned obsolescence in the 360 era, then Nintendo and Sony followed lead because they wanted to make a biz out of screwing customers. Fortunately my G7 SE still feels like new in the same period that official stuff starts to crap out playing the same racing games. I'm 100% done with official pads... the fact that they didn't put hall sticks on the ps5 pro pad is very telling.
Was waiting for this one since I don't like my controllers looking too toy-like (i.e., the BIGBIGWON Blitz 2). This and the innovative Vader 4 Pro are both winners in my eyes.
This controller amezed me, specially for the price. This controller is up there with high end controllers like Scuf, Dualsense Edge, Xbox Elite 2, Aimcontrollers, Razer Wolverin V3, Flydigi Vader 4, and Apex 3 for the shocking cheap price, and yeah, includes a cool ass charging dock
Absolutely agree that the aim on the cyclone 2 is outstanding. Its a combination of a very accurate readout and very low stick latency. What they could improve for potential Cyclone 3 would be rubberized grips or a more aggressive texture on the plastic. For now i would reccomend to purchase grip tape & stick caps for it.
I'm a bit surprised, I couldn't see any obvious differences, is it because you can lock the paddles with the G7 SE? Cause I do find that this changes the way I grip a bit, not the same with a paddle there.
I’ve been using it for 2 months and it’s the greatest gamesir controller. I hope the g7 pro will be on par. Anyways great review as always. How would you Compare to the blitz 2 I often switch between the 2. Also there are input latency results now on gamepadla and the response time is on par with the blitz 2
Wow wow wow! Another reason for the Cyclone 2 to deserve the praises! So the Blitz 2s are, in my opinion, one of the very few controllers I can think of right now that can hold up to the Cyclone 2. Plus, they have net advantages to themselves, namely the gyro and I think while GameSir have a nicer UI, BIGBIG WON still have the upper hand with their software but GameSir is growing so rapidly and every department that one can't help but wonder how long that'll last. If the Cyclone 2 is the blueprint for the G7 Pro, there's a good chance I'm going to lose my *beep* again when that controller drops! 😂
@@GameTechTalk I can't wait for it honestly! I'm also expecting big things from flydigi after their latest drop with the apex 4 wukong. I can see them put tmr on the vader 5 and apex 5. And even a 2khz polling rate since that's what they added to the apex 4 wukong. The only other thing I can think of is adding optical switches and tmr triggers like the Beitong kunpeng 40
Great video as always! Loving the controller, and for those curious it 100% works witelessly on the Xbox with the Magic X and Wingman XB3 adapters. Bonus, the white version matches my Starfield headset and wrap perfectly. Now if only Gamesir would make a 4 button version...
Originally, I was supposed to be sent 2 and one was for giveaway but only one ever made it to me. Not gonna lie, if I had received one of each lol... I would've kept the white one for myself! 😂
@@GameTechTalk really glad I bought it thank you, it exceeded my expectations! Became more perfect after I added the stick cushion. The only thing I dislike is the plastic body, but I already ordered talongames grip tape.
@@NewRON.TechJP Ahh I love reading a comment like this. You took great and made it greater for you, props my guy and thanks for sharing inputs, I greatly appreciate! 😀
I was gonna get this controller, but i ended buying the vader 4 pro which is the same price as this one in my country, either way thanks for the review
The Vader 4 Pro remains a phenomenal controller and it has so interest aspects to it that makes it one of the few controllers that I could pin against the Cyclone 2. Worry not, you made a great purchase!
I appreciate that, thanks a lot! Always happy to know that a happy gamer gets to enjoy amazing tools to make our gaming that much more pleasant. Cheers and Happy New Year!!
If this is a blueprint for the G7 Pro that's been spotted in the wild, I'm going to have to edit my head exploding, probably better that I learn now how to do this. 😅
Thanks for this! Trying to decide between this and the Tarantula Pro. Do you have a recommendation? I'm biased towards a symmentrical layout, but are the sticks better on the cyclone 2? Both controllers are on sale for practically the same price in my region. Thank you 🙏
if you like the symmetrical layout go for the tarantula if you're going to get it at the same price cause its practically the same controller minus a few buttons xd
Yup, I agree with dROLOb, I can't say for sure if the sticks are better or if it's a mix of comfort and layout but even if the sticks are better on the Cyclone 2, the difference is not substantial enough that I would pick it over my preferred layout. For me it's asymmetrical, if for you it's symmetrical, I would recommend to pick the Tarantula Pro. Plus, the Pro is great for a lot of other reasons too such as the quality rumble, the swapping layout, the extra buttons, the locking back paddles.
If I only use controllers on PC for racing, such as Forza Horizon 5, would this be the best controller to get? I've watched reviews on the Elite Series 2, Razer Wolverine V3 Pro, and Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra, but those are much more expensive than this. I also saw the Thrustmaster controller for Forza, but it doesn't seem like it's really a very good quality controller. Also, I currently only use a standard Xbox One controller
Well, it's definitely a phenomenal controller but you should know that this doesn't have trigger rumble, which a lot of gamers love for racing games. If that type of rumble is important, you may want to consider their wired option, the Kaleid.
You talk about the precision of the sticks but I wanna know if you change something in the app for that, and my second question is that the triggers looks kinda cheap so… you think the longevity of the controller is going to be good?
I always test the controllers at their root most level to have a baseline. That said, yes, you can address the curve of your sticks in the app, and you can also change from a circle (software corrected) or rectangle (raw input) stick. When that option is available, I always go "raw" as it gives me the more 1:1 experience, which is what I prefer. I have no doubt that the longevity will be good, there is QC with any product but considering the sheer amount of controllers that GameSir sell, there is very little issues, not to say no one ever experiences any but it's definitely not that major.
Just ordered one.. blows me away that its cheaper than a stock xbox controller by about $10 and comes packed to the gills with features on top of including a charging dock.
From my own research Cyclone 2 seems better. 8BitDo Ultimate seems solid and you can get it for less, but the general consensus seems to be it's not as good in terms of latency and build quality. I only have the original Cyclone though, not speaking from personal experience.
I would say Cyclone 2. The latency of the Ultimate, apparently superior after updates, is not everything in my humble opinion. The TMR sticks in the Cyclone 2 are amazing!
I think I'll get this. My current 8bitDo controller is nice, but I have big hands, so it's a bit tough for me to have a comfy grip on it. The d-pad on it can be inaccurate and it has gotten me killed especially when I use it in fighting games. Seeing this makes me want to try it out myself and maybe turn it into my all-around controller. My only question is what does the hair trigger do exactly? If you set in on does it mean it's an instant response the moment I press it? No ramp-up whatsoever? If that's how it works then I think that just adds to the positives for me. I like my inputs fast and responsive. Thanks for the review!
Your triggers count as axis, and axis have values from 0 to 255. It's very often that games will consider the trigger "actuation" to a bigger number than 1 to prevent misclicks but the "issue" is that the delay will cause slight loss of milliseconds. So competitive players tend to prefer digital triggers because they are binary. 0 = off, 1 = on. The moment you click, it happens immediately. Hair triggers aims to take a controller with an analog 0-255 trigger, and make it faster by making it digital. So technically, unless you play a lot of racing games where analogs are often favored, fast and responsive tends to be more viable on digital triggers. I hope this helps understand how it can be leveraged. Cheers! :)
Thank you for posting this. Recently broke my elite 2 and have been learning about controllers. I’m not sure on what I want to buy next, I really like the elite 2 mainly for the paddles. I used 2 on black ops6 it helped a lot having more options during fights. I’m learning the elite 2 actually sucks lol so I’ve come to the conclusion it’s between the v4p and the cyclone, am I correct or are there other options I’m missing for my next fps controller?
Gulikit kk3 has the paddles and is also good, though im considering v4p and this as well. Leaning towards v4p as with the g7 se the casing feels too flimsy to me...but maybe this one is not.
@ I ended up buying the cyclone 2 in the end so I’ll let you know how it feels when it arrives. I’ve seen a lot of reviews and they’ve all just gave great feedback and good showings, was close to getting the v4p and still might in the future to see which I prefer
For FPS, I think the Cyclone 2 is the better pick of the lot. The Vader 4 Pro is nice because it has so many extra buttons but the sticks, though amazing, still are not as good as these TMR ones. In fact, I would probably recommend the Blitz2 TMR/ALPS before recommending the Vader 4 Pro. But the Cyclone 2 does takes the win over the Blitz2. Cheers!
This controller is so good that it's got Klef speaking French in the intro! Also, I agree with the outro where we need this; but, telescopic and with a cooler. Question: I enjoyed the GameSir launch live streams where we could chat with their chief engineer and CEO. They haven't done one since the combined Nova Lite + X2s launch. Does anyone know why they stopped doing them?
I know you said the gyro works on steam, but does it work on steam on platforms other than windows (like the Steam Deck)? Does the controller software save the settings to the controller? (i.e. do the settings stay when moving to a different device other than pc or when the pc software is uninstalled?)
It does, as its part of the controller protocol. As for saving on the controller, the gyro wasn't unlocked last I check but based off of other features, I am certain it does save on the controller
I was configured on getting either the t4 cyclone pro or the 8bitdo pro 2. Got the pro 2 then this came out, but I think I’m stilly happy with my purchase
The sticks on the Cyclone 2 are something else but the Phantom is really really not far behind, which for hall-effect is quite a feat of its own. Considering the difference in price point though, it says it all.
Wow! And here I was thinking that the Tarantula was the must-have controller. Maybe if I wait a little bit more, GameSir will finally release an Ultimate controller with all the Pros and no Cons. It will also have Marvel (or probably DC or DBZ or anything cool) variants.
I mean, they are licensed by Disney so one can definitely hope! If you favor asymmetrical and don't care for all the fancy of the Tarantula, the Cyclone 2 is a perfect balance of features and quality but the Tarantula remains a controller that can definitely compete with the Cyclone 2. I'm still debating if I remove the Tarantula to put the Cyclone 2 at my PC. It's a tough decision...
@@GameTechTalk NihongoGamer just reviewed a unique controller, the Manba One. Unique in that it has a colored LCD. I really hope that this will become the standard of the future. Imagine parts of the UI (e.g. HP bars, meters, items, etc) placed on the controller. It would minimize screen clutter. It would also make possible multiplayer games with bluffing mechanisms (e.g. Undisputed where you should not be able to see your opponent's HP and Stamina bars by design. Multiplayer card games too.). If GameSir can put such an LCD into the Cyclone 2, then it might as well be perfect.
@@DarthNVious Yeah, the Manba One V1 was good, the V2 is great but the screen, sadly, is still not used to the concept that you have expressed. I'd love to see that in the future though, great idea you've got!
The Cyclone 2 and Direwolf 3 are two controllers that belong to two different categories, so while the Direwolf 3 is great, it is in no capacity anywhere near as good as the Cyclone 2. One is entry-level (Direwolf 3), the other is mid but feels like a premium. As for KK3 Max, it's a nice controller with a lot of pros, but considering that I would slot it in the same category of the Cyclone 2 (mid-pack tier), the Cyclone 2 wipes the floor with it. Better sticks, better software (KK3 Max doesn't have any), more comprehensive shortcut solution, more modes. Yeah it's not even comparable. The KK3 Max does have the benefit of having a type of HD rumble, I'd say it's the only benefit it has over Cyclone 2.
@@GameTechTalk Awesome !! Thank your for the suggestion, i go with cyclone 2 then, been doing research of my own, it comes down to Cylone 2 vs KK3 Max ( that nice extra macro button and all the accesories ), but you are right cyclone 2 is the better choice, thank for the suggestion
Which are you choosing? I play B06 competitively but I can’t choose between Vader 4 pro, BigBig Won Blitz2, and the cyclone 2. Let me know what you think!
It'd be between Blitz2 and the Cyclone 2 but because I really find that gyro is such a fun way to experiment in FPS, argh.... It's tough. Like, the Blitz2 is more expensive, but I do feel like it does just a smidge more. They are both top in their respective price points but they also each have advantages over the other.
So I already have the Vader 4 Pro and have enjoyed it a lot, however I have heard stick latency issues others have had. I mainly play FPS(COD), so my question is what is the best controller for this purpose? I have looked at the cyclone 2, BIGBIGWON Blitz 2 (TMR) and the Scuf Envision Pro.
If you care for gyro or would like to tinker with it, go Blitz 2 TMR. If you don't care for gyro and want an "aiming beast" go Cyclone 2. FYI, the sticks are nearly as good but I'd give the edge to Cyclone 2, the gyro on Blitz 2 is well further ahead though.
I think this maybe the replacement for my daily driver Power A enhanced wired. I was considering the Tarantula but I have a low mileage Dual Sense, so what's the point. I like the fact that the dock allows data pass thru with the dongle an upgraded D-pad, and most importantly the price!!!
amazing review ! this one, the tarentula pro or bigbigwon gale dual hall ? I've been using a DualShock 4 on PC for years, but it died a few months ago. I recently got a Switch and a Tab S9 Ultra and need a controller that's compatible with PC, Switch, and Android. I also want a dock that can house a 2.4GHz dongle. I was considering the 8BitDo Ultimate 2.4 (with updated Bluetooth and Hall Effect), but there seems to be a trigger issue over time. I'm looking for alternatives. watching your video definitly tells me to buy this one but i'm kinda afraid about the noise. not rly a deal breaker but coming from the ps4 wich make no noise for me how does it compare ? Thanks again for the review, def one of the best channel talking about controller out there !
I'll be perfectly honest, I'm not too sensitive to the noise so it's always a thing difficult for me to rate, I notice it but it's never to the point that it irritates me, if I pointed it out during the review (which I guess I did?), it must've stood out, I just don't mind it personally. The Tarantula Pro is quieter and I never had the Gale Dual so I can't speak about that one.
How would you compare this with 8bitdo ultimate bluetooth? Two cons for myself would be battery life and design, not a fan of the whole aesthetics. Trying to decide between the two atm, not sure which has better gyro implementation.
I wouldn't be sure about the gyro either to be honest. I haven't clocked in gaming time on the 8BitDo Ultimate in quite some time. To me battery is an issue that can be easily addressed but I get not wanting to have to have a mini battery bank next to you or things of sort. In the end, the Ultimate feels dated to me, but if the features that give the Cyclone 2 its modern feel, such as the hair triggers, the TMR sticks, the mechanical buttons, are not particularly of appeal to you? It might just be that you already have your answer. ;) Happy gaming!
@GameTechTalk It's true, I actually already ordered 8bitpro ultimate bluetooth, but then saw your video and cancelled to think over it more ._. My main intent is to simply connect my TV through steamlink so I can lay on my couch with a controller. I guess aesthetics and battery doesn't really effect functionality, so I can ignore it. Comes down to whether gyro will be properly supported with PC/steam in xbox configuration in 2.4G. There is a way to do it through 8bitpro ultimate bluetooth but you have to jump through a few hoops, I prefer official support. Also the additional headphone jack is sweet. Though now I'm hearing about an upcoming G7 Pro...any idea if that is suppose to be like cyclone 2 but with additional features or is it another controller entirely? Might want to wait for that as well 🫠
@@scrimshawivory7515 Well, to add to what you were saying the Cyclone 2 has a PS mode. Whereas the 8BitDo Ultimate has a Switch mode. Both support gyro but PS Mode almost always has better implementation in Steam Input, plus, it has high polling rate as well. I 100% can guarantee the gyro experience will be superior on the Cyclone 2, talking about the native one from the mode itself. You could still double-down with the rerouted value to sticks as well but seeing as you intend to leverage Steam Input, you shouldn't need to. As for the G7 Pro, yes it's rumored to be an upcoming controller, it's been spotted with a Steam button so it might be an officially licensed controller from Valve, and lastly, if the G7 line is of reference, it will effectively be a Cyclone 2 with more features, including native "Neptune" features such as conductive sticks. All very unconfirmed but hopefully, it's exactly what it'll be. Cheers!
@GameTechTalk Alright, I'm sold on Cyclone 2. One day delivery apparently, coming tomorrow. I've noticed 3rd Party controllers is more affordable where I'm from, about USD 40 here with dock. As for G7 Pro, figured I can get it too later, one controller isn't really sufficient anyways. Appreciate the video and this back and forth, all the best!
I'm really confused and need help.. Which is the best for pc...in term if fbs game and FIFA.. Is it the tarantula...or the cyclone 2..or is it vader 4....apex 4... Maybe the new blitz 2..regardless at the price ... of course build quality and feel mater's
Well, a lot of that depends on you. Think of it this way, if I'm a painter, trying to determine which pencil would be best will take data, potentially to try multiple. My point is, tell me a bit of what you are searching for in a controller, do you prefer symmetrical (playstation style) or asymmetrical (xbox style) ? That's a place to start.
@GameTechTalk actually I spend my whole life with a PlayStation Style controller 🎮..but now that a have a beautiful Asus G16 laptop... it's time to change..I bought the cyclone 2.. because honestly I think it's more good look and cleaner than the tarantula despite how special the tarantula is... The Xbox style is something I could used to.. specially and I'm an old Xbox 360 player..😉(those beautiful old days) Man that's a lot for the review and the great help🤍
@@humamahmed7724 Your message tells me we think alike. I like to push myself to try new things always, I enjoy thinking doing so allows me to get better at utilizing a wider range of tools and seemingly, you think so too! Credits to you for wanting to get accustomed to the layout despite having used symmetrical most of your life! 🫡
If you favor D-Pad and sticks, the Cyclone 2 wins. If you favor versatility and uniqueness, the Tarantula Pro wins. Either way, two great options. But I must say, the Tarantula looses a bit of appeal because the Cyclone 2 is a fair chunk cheaper in cost versus the Tarantula Pro.
Tunnel megnectec resistance u was on the right track every 😲 word u just said about TMR was sooo true and Facts this review is so Good now I feel I missed out by not getting the cyclone 2 pro & u was right the playstation layout TMR version tarantula pro made me back off I play fighting & side scrollers so I need Xbox layout 😢wish I got that one 😂
The Cyclone 2 just dug a very deep grave and there's a lot of controllers that will be put to rest because of it and as much as I love EasySMX and love the X10, the Cyclone 2 obliterates it if the prices are the same and even if Cyclone 2 is above it.
especially for fps if possible lol? I got the v4Pro but ppl are saying there is latency but I have yet to notice but I also havent ever had a premium low latency controller
By Nova, do you mean the Super Nova, the Nova Lite or Nova HD? Just to be sure, however I can tell you the Cyclone 2 would beat all of them except maybe the Nova HD if it is specifically for Switch gaming.
@@samabhinnn Pretty similar actually, just slightly looser but it’s a very small difference. Dualsense are rated at 70tgf approx whereas Cyclone 2 are 60tgf
You should talk about the difference in a workplace in a society which has all but non existent labor laws and one which the people believe theres too *many* labor laws. Js, if you wanna highlight corporate company differences. Ya missed that one, extremely large factor.
I like to talk about brands but I'll be perfectly transparent, when it comes to politics, which I find your topic falls way more under, I'm not comfortable discussing that as I do not quite know the parameters, the metrics, the variables, the this, the that. I appreciate your suggestion though, thanks!
Yes, gyro can be used on the dongle. I've had positive experience with the gyro thus far but I would still give the advantage to the Dualsense/Dualshock for that aspect specifically.
@GameTechTalk Man, the specs on this controller is so tempting to get, but I mainly use gyro for aiming on fps games. You think it's good enough to be played semi competetivly on multiplayer games? Oh and I usually convert the gyro to act as a mouse rather than a joystick. Thank you for the respone.
All three are at different price points but considering you can get a Cyclone 2 for 15USD more than 2C, and that Anbernic is truly 30USD for *most* people, the choice is easily EASILY the Cyclone 2. In order I'd go: Cyclone 2 >>>>> Anbernic >> Ultimate 2C. The thing with Anbernic is that it does what 2C does but with far better device compatibility. If not for that, it might have been neck and neck between the two.
hi i was wondering if it's possible to buy the dualsense edge motherboard and case apart and use cyclone tmr sticks on it like a diy controller and if yes can u maybe do a video doing it ? like building the ultimate controller
I would have to open up both controllers to see if the modules are the same, and once that is done, it’s not guaranteed that it would be accepted by the board. That said, I have a video planned where I’ll test the TMR joysticks from GuliKit. We’ll see how that goes when I get around to it. Cheers!
I have no reason to believe it changed based off of feeling alone. That said, the stick tech did change so it is impossible GameSir either changed the frame or did not and upgraded the sensors. I wouldn’t know for sure but based off of how I understand TMR to operate, they would have to have changed it.
@GameTechTalk I'm asking because I'm planning to replace my Vader 4 Pro with this one. It may sound stupid, but I have my reasons (controller is working great by the way)
Hi, my issue with the G7 se is the plastic case is very flimsy and easily bendable. Prob not an issue for most people but, is this controller more firm?
Not gonna lie, I had to pick them both up to see a difference but as it turns out, I do find the Cyclone 2 to feel more rigid 😅 It did creak a little bit but not something I would be surprised of, especially from new plastic.
bro gamesir t4 cyclone vs this which one is better gyro and vibration on game like fortnite and the finals ( gyro aim and rumble motors,t4 pro seems to have 4 motors)
I never had the T4 Cyclone so I can’t speak on it’s merits against the Cyclone 2 Pro. That said, gyro on GameSir is nice but I would love to see their app improve still.
@@GameTechTalk Oh, I'm thinking of waiting a few months to buy the Cyclone 2 or a newer model if one comes out. I have 16GB of DDR5 RAM. Should I buy another 16GB of RAM or the controller? Which one do you suggest?
There is only two reasons why you'd want to take the Kaleid over this, 1 is, Kaleid works on Xbox, this doesn't. 2, Kaleid has trigger rumble this doesn't. Anything else, polling, connectivity, compatibility, software support, quality, features, dock, dongle, sticks, name it. Everything else is better or vastly superior on the Cyclone 2.
Have you had an issue with the joysticks popping off on you during gameplay? I had the issue with the tarantul, but didn't use it as much due to the face buttons being membrane. I've wanted to use this one more, but it feels like the joysticks will spin on me and get loose. Then I can't seem to get them to ever settle back in place. It was way worse on the tarantula since I actually removed those joysticks while checking out the controller. I intentionally left these alone with the hope of them remaining in place. Since it's happened with both of the TMR controllers it has to have something to do with the joysticks.
I did not but neither did I for the Tarantula. In fact, I did a video that I opened the Tarantula and I wasn't even able to take of the caps then, they seemed glued so maybe it was a problem that they fixed in manufacturing but yours came undone? Even on the Cyclone 2, I can't pop 'em out.
I know this wasn't what you review but would appreciate if you can help me out with this dilemma. I'm torn between gamesir g8+ and abxylute s9 which one would you recommend over the other ? And thx either way
Ahh no worries, people ask me all the time but not to worry, I respond even on my year old videos so feel free to comment wherever, whenever! :) For me, the G8+ has a slight advantage over the S9 and it is that it's just so versatile with it's ability to attach and detach while remaining connected, but it might not be important to everyone. In a situation where I wouldn't care to "dock my handheld" and continue with the G8+, I'd choose the S9 over it because overall, the whole package deal is a smidge more compelling as long as you're ok being always tethered. That's my take on the whole thing. Cheers!
Impossible that it wouldn't. Those sticks are on a whole other planet. Right now, there are only very few controllers that can stand tall next to the Cyclone 2 if I'm being brutally honest.
@GameTechTalk bet thank you, I don't know any reviewer that's talking about another way of connectivity for xbox! Preciate big dawg. You got a subscriber out of this
You mean like the two next to ABXY? I never understood why this didn't stick. Sega did it, then Xbox OG did, and until the Vader controllers, I can't think of other products that steadily did it except some where you sacrifice right stick like the BFG Victrix. I do like the 6 buttons array, I wouldn't be against GameSir giving us their flavor of it, great suggestion!
@@GameTechTalk Yeah the C,Z buttons and maybe 2 more on the back or top next to the shoulders I have the Tarantula Pro but I just don't like the parallel joystick layout that much, and the extra button placements are a little wonky but I appreciate at least having them!
@@bruxis I use them a lot but they probably could be made better. I love the Tarantula for what it stands. To me, it is such a first of a kind, I hope more companies follows in its footsteps, while trying different shapes and styles.
When I connect wirelessly using the dongle the cyclone 2 get picked up as a dualsense controller is this normal behaviour? When connected wired it’s picks it up as an Xbox controller
How did you update the firmware on the Cyclone 2? My GameSir Connect app keeps failing when trying to update the controller itself. Tried both Microsoft Store and Chinese versions of the app. I tried everything I can think of and nothing is working. Please help 🙏
I would suggest trying a different USB port on your PC, also please make sure that the controller is connected directly and not through a hub or splitter. Cheers!
I tend to always keep a battery pack next to me so I have a bad habit, as a reviewer, of not paying much attention to battery. I have heard the same as you have, that said, I haven't ran into the problem itself, sorry to say.
I think the Cyclone 2 does edge the Tarantula for aiming, mainly due to the sticks feeling even better in my humble opinion but this analysis might in fact be a result of asymmetrical vs symmetrical.
I like the Vader 4 Pro but it's got controversy around it so you'll find mixed opinions. That said, I think both products have reasons to shine and reasons to envy other products but for someone competitive, Cyclone 2 is a beast.
Has anyone tried using a wired headset with this controller? Whenever I plug it in, nothing is coming through. I am playing on Xbox so I don’t know if that changes anything with connection to a mic.
If you are playing on Xbox, it means you are using a converter because this controller does not natively work on Xbox. Using a converter can impact some of the functions of the product, and as far as I know, 3.5mm jack is one that is always impacted just because that portion is not converted.
Still a great controller but I'd be lying if I said that I'd be ok paying more for a Manba One V2 knowing the Cyclone 2 exists. It doesn't make the V2 bad, it just doesn't stop the Cyclone 2 from being superior. That said, it doesn't always have to be about having what's best if it brings you the same level of fun!
@GameTechTalk that's very true, it feels really nice to me street using it for a couple of hours. Have you done a video on setting up controllers using steams controller interface? Is like to give the gyro a go, but set up info seems to be lacking
@@light_foot I have not, the Steam Input gyro settings are extremely EXTREME packed with options, I don't know that I would want to tackle it, it should be a very time intensive endeavor. I'll take note of it in case I have a bit of free time. Thanks for the suggestion!
At the time being, I do not test latency, I do not have a high speed camera but I do rely on feel, I can distinguish good from great, but best from great would be hard. I might change that in the future, haven't decided yet. Cheers!
@@holyhooman6828 Slightly. Not to the point that it would bother me but the Cyclone 2 felt more reliable from the very moment I held it, whereas Tarantula had a smidge of an adaptation required. Taht said, I don't mind that too much, it comes with the territory of new hardware and getting accustomed to them.
I'm struggling with this question because the Tarantula Pro has so much going for it, and technically so much on top of the Cyclone 2, such as all the extra buttons, locking paddles, ABXY swapping... But it's like the things the Tarantula has got extra, are exactly that, extras. Whereas the Cyclone 2 has stronger foundations, does that make sense? Because when looking at it from that angle, I would say that the Cyclone 2 is better, especially for aiming games and the D-pad, but not for everything at least.

Thank you greatly for your support!
I seen a video of the g7pro but with a steam logo, I wonder if they licensed the controller and that’s why we haven’t gotten it yet 🤔
@@WhoButBilly If Steam went and got a controller licensed with GameSir, what a BAWSS move that would be. I'm excited for us all to learn more when the time comes!
Bro g7 pro Will kill this cyclone 2, i already know it
Anyone who uses a contoller for hard use knows they all eventually fail in some way.
Funny but, there is only two controllers on the market that fits your description except for the price and TMR, it's Vader 4 Pro and Apex 4.
@@sithcdw what does uncentered stocks mean?
Was waiting for this one since I don't like my controllers looking too toy-like (i.e., the BIGBIGWON Blitz 2). This and the innovative Vader 4 Pro are both winners in my eyes.
Two great picks for sure!
You said it all. It's really good stuff!
Ahh I'm not the only one putting grip tape on my controllers and mices I see! High five my guy!
man i have one and that intro is absolute right!
the only down" its ergonomic for me, g7 se fit better on my hands but other aspect is flawless
I'm a bit surprised, I couldn't see any obvious differences, is it because you can lock the paddles with the G7 SE? Cause I do find that this changes the way I grip a bit, not the same with a paddle there.
@@GameTechTalk idk how to explain is the shell form lenght with grip i prefer g7 se

Wow, thank you so much, that means a lot!
I’ve been using it for 2 months and it’s the greatest gamesir controller. I hope the g7 pro will be on par. Anyways great review as always. How would you
Compare to the blitz 2 I often switch between the 2.
I bought the GameSir Kaleid and I love that controller. After watching this video, I decided to buy the GameSire Cyclone 2 thanks for your video 😊👍
You won't be disappointed, it's a beast.
Should there be a comparison between the tarantula and the cyclone..or the deference between them is just the looks?
I don't know that I'll make a difference video, but it's actually a great idea. The main thing is definitely asymmetrical vs symmetrical.
Just recently bought easymx x10 but when I saw this vid, I ordered cyclone 2 immediately hope it performs as what you’ve stated.

If this is a blueprint for the G7 Pro that's been spotted in the wild, I'm going to have to edit my head exploding, probably better that I learn now how to do this. 😅
You said it's not compatible with Xbox, which is true, but you can easily circumvent this with converters and adapters.
You're totally right!
@@GameTechTalkthank you so much, I appreciate your response. I've ordered the tarantula pro, so I'll see how it pans out for me!
@@GameTechTalk Ooh, okay, I've never used a controller with trigger rumble, so maybe that'd be cool to try. Thanks!
@@classiccj2569 Your Xbox one controller should have trigger vibration lol.
@@Sphynx93rkn ya I realized that after commenting lol
Yup, the 3rd party market is killing it and GameSir is one of those brands that’s leading the trend right now.
Any converter testing? Would really like to know if I can use it for series X
Someone else said in the comments that it works with Magic X and Brookman Wing

Should I buy Cyclone 2 or 8bitdo ultimate as my first controller for a PC?
From my own research Cyclone 2 seems better. 8BitDo Ultimate seems solid and you can get it for less, but the general consensus seems to be it's not as good in terms of latency and build quality. I only have the original Cyclone though, not speaking from personal experience.
I would say Cyclone 2. The latency of the Ultimate, apparently superior after updates, is not everything in my humble opinion. The TMR sticks in the Cyclone 2 are amazing!
This vs Vader 4 Pro?
They both are great, if sticks for aiming is your priority, I'd say this. If having extra buttons is your priority, I'd say V4 Pro
سأشتري هذا المنتج مرتاح البال خاصا بعدما شاهدت هذا الفيديو . شكرا جزيلا
Happy to have been able to bring assistance to your shopping experience. Happy New Year!
Cheers! :)
@@GameTechTalk this is an absolutely great explanation, thanks for sharing! And great video!
I wish I knew myself, I really enjoyed that stream!
Have you tried the gyro on the steam deck? I think thats the only thing i need to know before buying it
I have not, I didn't get the controller
I like your reviews and i like this pad.

Best bang for your buck i promise i just bought the hex phantom then bought gamesir havnt havnt touched the phantom since
The sticks on the Cyclone 2 are something else but the Phantom is really really not far behind, which for hall-effect is quite a feat of its own. Considering the difference in price point though, it says it all.
Tell me the name of last 2 controllers on self with best gyro ?

@GameTechTalk thanks bro
How it compare to direwolf 3 and KK3 Max? Searching for a new controller and those 3 are in my price range

How is the experience with Switch? Does it have HD rumble and gyroscope working with Switch?
It's great, no HD rumble and gyroscope do work!
What was those 2 best gyro controllers u show in end?
BIGBIG WON Blitz 2 TMR and ALPS. Great controllers and some of the few options that can hold a candle to the Cyclone 2 in my humble opinion.
Between the EasySMX X20 and the Gamesir Cyclone 2, which one would be better overall?
The Cyclone 2 is the one I'd go for personally. It's a better build quality, a more responsive controller and a more reliable experience.
It’s a great controller that’s easy to recommend, especially at that price point.
Is the gyro working in DS4 mode? Cause that should work with steam
Thanks for the reminder, I totally forgot to mention it, yes it works just fine on DS4 mode!
Bought it for like 40$ pre tax with the stand and I’m glad I did it as it was a sale bc of a. Preorder

amazing review ! this one, the tarentula pro or bigbigwon gale dual hall ?
Do the controller charge with only the Type C cable?
Yes

TMR sticks? DAYUM!
You already knoowwwww!
It might just be that you already have your answer. ;)
Happy gaming!
The Xbox style is something I could used to.. specially and I'm an old Xbox 360 player..😉(those beautiful old days)
Man that's a lot for the review and the great help🤍
@@humamahmed7724 Your message tells me we think alike. I like to push myself to try new things always, I enjoy thinking doing so allows me to get better at utilizing a wider range of tools and seemingly, you think so too!
Credits to you for wanting to get accustomed to the layout despite having used symmetrical most of your life! 🫡
Does anyone have a cheaper dongle adapter than the Brooke adapters to use this on XBOX?
hey man important question, are face buttons as good as easysmx x10?
i really like those
They feel extremely similar yes. Both are mechanical switch, I couldn't tell you which uses which brand but they feel very much alike.
So IF i choose one between Tarantula & Cyclone 2 pro and i dont have any SHAPE issue... i love both shape so which one will be best ?
So close but no cigar! T-T
Which dpad do you think is more responsive and nicer for fighting games, the Vader 4 Pro or the Cyclone 2?
I would take the Vader 4 Pro D-Pad over the Cyclone 2. It's not amongst my favorite, but it's very close (Vader 4 Pro D-Pad).
Great video ❤❤
This vs the easySmx X10?
The Cyclone 2 just dug a very deep grave and there's a lot of controllers that will be put to rest because of it and as much as I love EasySMX and love the X10, the Cyclone 2 obliterates it if the prices are the same and even if Cyclone 2 is above it.
@GameTechTalk wild!!!
If you had to choose between Vader 4 Pro and this one what would you personally choose?
especially for fps if possible lol? I got the v4Pro but ppl are saying there is latency but I have yet to notice but I also havent ever had a premium low latency controller
Cyclone 2 because of how great the sticks are.
Any experience with this vs the Gamesir Nova?
By Nova, do you mean the Super Nova, the Nova Lite or Nova HD? Just to be sure, however I can tell you the Cyclone 2 would beat all of them except maybe the Nova HD if it is specifically for Switch gaming.
How much does the tmr sticks on this controller hold up with the alps sticks on dualsense also which one feels better for playing fps games?
Just as good as far as I am concerned. Obviously, they have added benefits on top so great stuff as far as I am concerned.
@ ty and how about the stick tension compared to standard dualsense controller
@@samabhinnn Pretty similar actually, just slightly looser but it’s a very small difference. Dualsense are rated at 70tgf approx whereas Cyclone 2 are 60tgf
Whats the best d-pad for fighting games ?
Some of my favorites are the Blitz2 D-pads & the BINBOK Ultra Pro
You should talk about the difference in a workplace in a society which has all but non existent labor laws and one which the people believe theres too *many* labor laws. Js, if you wanna highlight corporate company differences. Ya missed that one, extremely large factor.
I like to talk about brands but I'll be perfectly transparent, when it comes to politics, which I find your topic falls way more under, I'm not comfortable discussing that as I do not quite know the parameters, the metrics, the variables, the this, the that. I appreciate your suggestion though, thanks!
Are we able to use gyro using the 2.4ghz dongle? And is the gyro noticeably worse than the dualshocks or dualsens?
Yes, gyro can be used on the dongle. I've had positive experience with the gyro thus far but I would still give the advantage to the Dualsense/Dualshock for that aspect specifically.
@GameTechTalk Man, the specs on this controller is so tempting to get, but I mainly use gyro for aiming on fps games. You think it's good enough to be played semi competetivly on multiplayer games? Oh and I usually convert the gyro to act as a mouse rather than a joystick. Thank you for the respone.
which one better beetwen cyclone 2 and easysmx 20 sir? thanks for the review btw!!
This, easy. Love EasySMX, great company and all but the Cyclone 2 runs laps around many controllers and they includes the X20.
@@GameTechTalk how about the easysmx and 8bitdo ultimate 2c sir?
@@modzi9138 Harder to say, the 2C has better latency but the X20 has amazing features, better compatibility but worst d-pad.
I see, thx for the reply and finnaly i order the gamesir cyclone 2 seems its the best cotroller for the price haha thx for the review!!
@ With great pleasure! Happy gaming
Which one do you think is good overall ultimate 2c or anbernic or cyclone 2 why do you think it is better?
All three are at different price points but considering you can get a Cyclone 2 for 15USD more than 2C, and that Anbernic is truly 30USD for *most* people, the choice is easily EASILY the Cyclone 2. In order I'd go: Cyclone 2 >>>>> Anbernic >> Ultimate 2C. The thing with Anbernic is that it does what 2C does but with far better device compatibility. If not for that, it might have been neck and neck between the two.
🎉@GameTechTalk which quality is better is all the above and last long usage
@@thanishf4355 I would say the Cyclone 2. Cheers!
@@thanishf4355 I have had great experience with GameSir and I use them more than the average so I'd say GameSir personally.
hi i was wondering if it's possible to buy the dualsense edge motherboard and case apart and use cyclone tmr sticks on it like a diy controller and if yes can u maybe do a video doing it ? like building the ultimate controller
I would have to open up both controllers to see if the modules are the same, and once that is done, it’s not guaranteed that it would be accepted by the board. That said, I have a video planned where I’ll test the TMR joysticks from GuliKit. We’ll see how that goes when I get around to it. Cheers!
Hi, what about the centering spring in the sticks, is it the same, or they replace it with more reliable one?
@@GameTechTalk nice, thank you for finding that out haha. Its just a dumb thing i didnt like
Good review. But fix the timecodes. It looks messed up a bit) ❤
The Timecodes? The chapters? As in you find them unreliable?
bro gamesir t4 cyclone vs this which one is better gyro and vibration on game like fortnite and the finals ( gyro aim and rumble motors,t4 pro seems to have 4 motors)
I never had the T4 Cyclone so I can’t speak on it’s merits against the Cyclone 2 Pro. That said, gyro on GameSir is nice but I would love to see their app improve still.
@@GameTechTalk ok bro is the app gyro work now?
@@darks32106 Yeah it does, you may have to uninstall and reinstall the app from the Windows Store but it most definitely works.
@@GameTechTalk Oh, I'm thinking of waiting a few months to buy the Cyclone 2 or a newer model if one comes out. I have 16GB of DDR5 RAM. Should I buy another 16GB of RAM or the controller? Which one do you suggest?
This or t4 kaleid which one is better for racing and which one quality is good?
This might be better
For me, the G8+ has a slight advantage over the S9 and it is that it's just so versatile with it's ability to attach and detach while remaining connected, but it might not be important to everyone. In a situation where I wouldn't care to "dock my handheld" and continue with the G8+, I'd choose the S9 over it because overall, the whole package deal is a smidge more compelling as long as you're ok being always tethered. That's my take on the whole thing. Cheers!
Thx you so much. And uf had to pick between the g8+ and memo s3?
@@shaka2116 G8+
The dongle works on switch with the 3.5 headphone Jack?
Last I checked, it didn't
Will this work wired on Series x?
Not without a converter such as the Brookwing. Sadly, I do not have one myself so I can't speak on the efficiency of using one.
Hey bro, what you say this for competitive cod?will it fit?thans
Impossible that it wouldn't. Those sticks are on a whole other planet. Right now, there are only very few controllers that can stand tall next to the Cyclone 2 if I'm being brutally honest.
Am i able to get a 3rd party adapter and connect it wirelessly to my xbox like that?
A Brook Wingman should help you do that, sadly I don't own any and wouldn't know exactly which but it's definitely feasible.
@GameTechTalk bet thank you, I don't know any reviewer that's talking about another way of connectivity for xbox! Preciate big dawg. You got a subscriber out of this
Give me more buttons like the Vader 2/3/4, I just want a GameSir version instead of FlyDigi :L
@@GameTechTalk Yeah the C,Z buttons and maybe 2 more on the back or top next to the shoulders
I have the Tarantula Pro but I just don't like the parallel joystick layout that much, and the extra button placements are a little wonky but I appreciate at least having them!
Cheers!
Hey dude. What about battery life?
I hear so many different things.... Some say "not even 2 hours"..
That would really suck
I tend to always keep a battery pack next to me so I have a bad habit, as a reviewer, of not paying much attention to battery. I have heard the same as you have, that said, I haven't ran into the problem itself, sorry to say.
@@GameTechTalk that's a critical part of a controller review to be honest
25:43 HELL YES LMAO
You already know! xD
Would you say this controller or tarantula for fps games? I ordered the tarantula but the offset analogs may throw me since ive always played xbox
I think the Cyclone 2 does edge the Tarantula for aiming, mainly due to the sticks feeling even better in my humble opinion but this analysis might in fact be a result of asymmetrical vs symmetrical.
This one or the 8bitdo ultimate?
This one
Flydigi Vader 4 is a super controller for not much more money.
No thanks
And I just ordered myself a manba one v2 😮!
You can use this wired on Xbox?
Sadly you cannot, not without some type of external accessory such as a Brookman Wing
BROOO how about Flydigi Vader 4 pro ???
It's a great controller as well, they both have their pros and cons, but either one would be a great option in my book.
Yo did u manage to test the latency on the tarantula pro?
At the time being, I do not test latency, I do not have a high speed camera but I do rely on feel, I can distinguish good from great, but best from great would be hard. I might change that in the future, haven't decided yet. Cheers!
@@GameTechTalk Did u manage to feel a great latency difference between tarantula and cyclone? thx for the answer btw
@@GameTechTalk Aight, thanks for the clarifications man!
would you say this is better than the tarantula pro
I'm struggling with this question because the Tarantula Pro has so much going for it, and technically so much on top of the Cyclone 2, such as all the extra buttons, locking paddles, ABXY swapping... But it's like the things the Tarantula has got extra, are exactly that, extras. Whereas the Cyclone 2 has stronger foundations, does that make sense? Because when looking at it from that angle, I would say that the Cyclone 2 is better, especially for aiming games and the D-pad, but not for everything at least.
