Been trying to figure this out! Thank you!
Thanks for the tutorial especially the iPhone used🙌
Outstanding!
I have been doing the hdmi to capture card to iPad thing with my RX100 vii but this seems to be better for latency.
wow, you saved my life. I was trying many times and couldn't make it ... after your video it works :) it was bcs of the settings in the menu, the PC Remote etc. vs. Connect to Smartphone. Thank you.
Happy to help!
Tried... and worked💯 saved me a couple 100$
Im glad this helped, enjoy!
Worked with my RX100 M7. Thank you!
Woa! No idea it worked on the RX100 mK7 model! Thanks for your comment!
Thank you, it´s working muchas gracias amigo prrrrrrreee
did they fix the stabilization issue? when filming using the app, u lose image stabilization (definitely from the lens (but i think also from the camera), it just gets disabled - tried different cables).
Thanks, great advice!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this video 🙏☺️
Welcome!
Please help me! is it possible to use a lightning to usb-c cable??
Can you choose video mode and record from your cell phone?
Thanks for the great video🙂👍 The app on the A6600 is functional, but only for simple focusing. Focus tracking does not work. Is there anything else that needs to be set up? I have the paid version. Thanks for the RE 🙂
Just as the continuous eye tracking gets disabled when connecting the HDMI it's the same when streaming over the USB protocol, I believe Sony does this on purpose :( no way around it
Thanks for watching!
Thanks it worked....
excelente, me funcionó perfecto con mi sony a6400 y mi celular samsung galaxy a52s, muchas gracias
Hello Erick, do you know if there is an option to buy a microUSB "B multiport" USB-C cable, to avoid a damage of phone USB port with using a USB-A USB-C reduction?
I have A7II and phone with USB-C, so cable is probably the only way how to use Monitor+ app.
There are many microUSB USB-C cables available, but IMHO they will not work, because of camera multiport version .. Thanks!
Well, if the cable IS multi then it should work. But its very hard to find micro usb with multi protocol…
gimbals do offer this cables in their included packages a true Multi Micro USB to USB C
Maybe this one from DJI a.co/d/hbEhbgZ its designed for sony cameras so it should be MULTI
It worked with my Sony a7IV and iPhone 14 Pro. I used the adapter (SUNTRSI USB Camera Adapter, USB Female OTG Adapter for iPhone) from Amazon, and the cable that came with my camera (USB C to USB A).
Me da gusto que sea de utilidad, lo acabo de ver nuevamente y me revuelvo mucho con las velocidades, los bits y bytes 😂😅 me disculpo por las posibles confusiones. Gracias por dejar un mensaje.
If I don’t have the original Sony cable what can I do? I have followed every step, and got an adaptor from mini HDMI to lightning cable (not the Apple one) and it wouldn’t work. I have the A6400
Thanks for this, my iPhone 12 Pro says "cannot use this accessory - ILCE-6600 requires too much power" when I plug it in with the USB to lightning cable...dang...any experience with that?
In case anyone else experiences this...I figured it out. I had to turn off "USB power supply" in Setup window 4 on my A6600. Thanks again for this video :)
Thanks for sharing the solution!
Can i use this for my a7ii?
Hi, it starts lagging a lot when I actually start recording, almost unusable. It's responsive while not recording. Does it happen to you too? I have an A6400. Thanks for the video anyway.
Thank you
Hello, do you know where the photos are stored on a mobile device without having to view them through the monitor+ app? Thank you.
Hi on android it should be easy to track the media folder of the app, in iphone its stored as app information. Sadly i dont think its possible to access the information outside the app unless you export it
Hey bro , if I have a7s3 , and I want to use iPhone 13 Pro , for monitor with monitor+ app , what cables I need ? I can use the usbc ? Or it’s only work with hdmi , and multi port …
And what quality I can get from the multi , and what quality I can get from usbc , and with the hdmi also
What’s the best cable to get the best quality for my iPhone monitor and what I need
@@user-vg1wt3py2f
Okay so for starters, the a7siii is capable of connecting wirelessly.
I would not recommend you to buy a usb A to lighting dongle for the iphone to connect the camera via multiport as the app can connect wirelesly to the camera.
The quality of the transmission is 1024x576 at its best, so is just for monitoring dont expect using your phone as external recorder.
The camera wont connect with a usb c cable it has to be the multiport with the micro usb.
Hey ! Good content!
Do you know if it's working with an iPhone instead of a android?
I tried both OS in the video iOS and Android with an iPhone 14 and a Samsung note 8, both performed correctly. 😁👍🏼
I have an A7SII and it connects but live view isnt showing. it says no signal. Tried on Pixel 6 Pro And Galaxy Fold 3 Using the same OTG you used.
Hey, I was trying to connect my iPhone 13 to Sony A7iii with an original iPhone usb-c charger. The the app can’t seem to find the camera for some reason. Do you know what could be the reason?
you need Lightning to USB Camera Adapter, it doesn't work with type c to lighting cable
Does Monitor+ show exposure stops ? So I can check from a distance that the exposure is set correctly ?
With this app you dont have the exposure stops like the exposure multi meter in the camera. But to nail exposure you have zebras, false color and waveform. these 3 tools help to expose correctly better than the M.M. indicator in the camera
Works with my a7sii, this is help me a lot when filming myself by mounting my phone to the hot shoe of the camera, now i can see myself and adjust the setting directly in the monitor😂
I think is the most basic thing to do yet SUPER HELPFUL for filming yourself, thanks for watching!
@@erick.gazbel Can you choose video mode and record from your cell phone?
@@alebelmonte9312 depends on camera model and type of connection some models allows that level of control on both wirelessly and wired connection some like the a6600 only wired

But let me inform you that sadly the a6400 does not support wireless connection.
oke, does it support focus peaking ? i have few manual lens, and i feel focus peaking is important for this lens.
Edit : yes just need 5 minutes to test and edit this comment, disable control via Smartphone, and voila, it works with A6400 manual lens. Focus peaking only for premium ( purchase ).

HELP. I did everything the same as you. But when connecting, the phone screen only shows "no signal" and the remaining parameters such as ISO, shutter speed,... can still be controlled, but only the screen is no signal. Thank you
Sorry for the late response hope you could make it work, maybe the cable is not fully supporting image transfer
Does it not work for USB to the USB connection to the camera?
Im using a sony a7ii with a galaxy s21 ultra and the app connects to the camera (shows battery, etc) but there is no video. please help
Can I ask you if the app works with sony a6000? Thanks
Unfortunately in the compatibility list provided by the developer, the a6000 won’t work with this app. :(
Gracias🎉
is it also possible to turn of the camera's monitor and only use the phone?
in my case with the a6600 is not possible. I have to go to the menu options and force the camera to show only in the viewfinder the image. That way the screen's off and saves some battery and i see only the image in the app with the phone
On my sony a7IV it is possible. I only turn on the camera with the screen turned inward (it turns off automatically) and having already connected the cable to my phone.
You have to turn it on with the screen that way and having connected the cable to the phone previously, if you do it in another order it doesn't work.
Good day ....what port are you using on your camera?
Its the micro usb port, the first from top to bottom in the side port door.
@@erick.gazbel thank u 👍🏼
@@erick.gazbel Which port brings the best image quality?
I have the cable and an a6699 but it’s still not working even following what you have it’s still not working
Now which one is the 6699? Im guessing you missed the 0's and meant 6600.
After many months of this video upload the most common cause, after reviewing all settings in camera and phone, it's the cable. Sony cable included with the camera is kinda special. It's not only micro USB form it's also Multi protocol. Not all micro USB cables have this.
I've tried with different cables and it does make a difference hope this is your case and you find this response helpful
I have the a6600 the original USB cable, the Samsung OTG adapter (as shown in your video), and an Infinix android smartphone. I did everything and was able to see my a6600 in the monitor+ app. BUT each time I tried to start the connection, it fails telling me my PC connect was not set to ON or my device is not compatible.
I'm so frustrated. Tried different cables, different OTG adapters, same problem. is it the Infinix smartphone causing it?
I have a solution for you, switch the mode. right dial to manual or auto and then switch back to video

@@BreezeA yes connect everything make sure to follow his settings, keep the camera off and turn it on in video and then change the mode and then back, I’ve noticed a direct usb c to multi doesn’t work you need a micro usb to usb A converted to usb C for the phone
I have a very similar set up with Sony A6600 using a micro USB to USB A cable (original Sony cable) into an OTG adaptor into USB-c on my phone (Samsung A14 5g). Despite using all the recommended USB settings on the camera, the app seems to recognise the camera but will not connect, coming up with the same error message of "not being able to connect either because PC Remote is not turned on or the device is not supported". I have tried starting with the camera in photo mode (rather than video), doing a camera hard re-set, re-intalling the app, etc, but nothing seems to work. Any further suggestions?
I would try using a different otg usb c to usb a.
If that adapter is not giving the correct bandwidth or data transfer protocol that might be the issue. You see the camera connected in the app but when it tries to send image data it just bugs out and show you that error msg
@@erick.gazbel Many thanks for your comments. I guess the other possibility would be to use a micro-USB to USB-c cable, and eliminate the OTG adaptor? I see that there are some Amazon links for recommended cables on the Monitor-plus website. Is that likely to be a better option?
@@chauvetresonance1262 Im very positive someone already mentioned your suggestion of eliminating de otg and using a usb c to micro usb for a direct connection.
You can always return the cable if it does not work 😉

Which port should I use for the best image quality?
The only working port for non wireless compatible cameras is the multi micro usb port, that's the only one usable
@@erick.gazbel I'm using the usb-c port on my sony a7iii, seems to be working fine for around 5 minutes and then the screen on monitor+ freezes. Any idea why?
@@FedericoBragee to what device are you connecting it? it seems to me that the connection its getting interrupted some how and i bet its some kind of restriction with the device, not the camera
@@FedericoBragee Might be phone screen timeout setting or camera power save time?
hi! can you use Slog2 ? thanks
yes, if you set slog with PP in camera the image in the phone will show with the picture profile, even slog 2 and slog 3. Also if you turn on gamma assist in the camera image feed on the phone wont be affected,
Can you use it in Aperture mode? TIA
yes, with certain models you can set and control aperture or shutter speed priority mode.
Im 100% positive it works with the a7iv and fx30, I recommend visiting the app developer website to verify if your camera model can be controlled from the app. Also consider this feature is avaliable for the paid version.
How can I exit this application? I installed it, everything works, but I can't go to the main screen of the phone. there are no return or exit keys to the home screen. I have to restart my phone. Android version, but it doesn't matter.
I suspect is a bug for any current version android app is now running, when I tested it in my outdated note 8 I had no issue returning to the phone Home Screen.
I would try deleting the app and installing it back… this sounds very odd, exiting the app its a very basic functionality. 😥
Hello When I try to set camera USB Connection option is unable and shows Mass Storage. Anyone know how to sort it? Thanks
Hi! Try doing it before connecting the cable from the camera to the phone. setting is not changeable when already connected.
Does it work with the Sony a7s mark1?
Sadly the a7s1 have a limited USB connectivity and it's not supported.
You can still connect external monitors... I know it's an additional expense but since this app does not support you model it's the best option.
Thanks for watching!
Does it works with a6500? If it works i’m gonna so happy
It sure does with its limitations but wired connectivity is possible.
Thanks for watching!
How about Sony a5000?Can I connect wireless?
Im sorry, I doubt wired or wireless connection is possible with the a5000, its a entire different protocol and its not in the compatibility list of app according to developers. You can always try
When i recording, starts to lagging the image is this normal? Or maybe is the cable?
Could be phone limitations… like gpu or ram.
Which camera and phone are you pairing?
Also the cable is an option if it's not high quality and bandwidth saturates some how.
