Interesting, could you share which iPad and iPhone models?

I think the problem is your pixel phone, knowing android you can set how a usb connection behaves when plugin in any accessory. The camera when off is shutting down any data connection thus setting the usb c port as charge only, the pixel detects it and starts trying to do reverse charge o attempt to charge from the camera. So when Turing on, the power delivery option is forced on, and thats why I think it’s blocking your connection. I’ll look into the pixel usb configuration to prevent this.

@@erick.gazbel Thanks for the suggestion. I tried to enter the usb config on my phone, but it was already set to default to no data transfer. I can't find any other settings related to USB charging but I will try to experiment with other settings.

It’s weird when wired connection is laggy, have you tried setting your phone and also the camera to airplane mode to reduce any posible interference?

Hi, try turning off Mobile DATA. It became less buggy when I did that. (I am using a ZVE10 and S24 ultra).

Unfortunately, I doubt any Sony camera offers reverse charging I don’t think thats possible

Are you setting the usb connection to PC remote in camera before connecting the phone? Also which phone are you using? Some android phones have the function to decide what kind of connection it’s done, may be there the issue.

I am having the same issue when i turn Connect with smartphone to on and then try to change the setting in USB Mode it becomes inactive and defaults to Mass storage. If you find a solution kindly help

Mini usb is a different port, but I assume you meant the micro usb If you are using the original Apple camera adapter then or it’s the cable that is not data rated or maybe the camera port is faulty. In also going to assume that the camera port is not faulty so it’s gotta be the cable. Try connecting the camera to the computer using that same cable and verify your camera does charge and can transfer files (the camera is recognized in the finder/file explorer) If it does, make a file transfer. Preferably a large video file so you can see the sustained transfer speed. Also double check the camera settings correctly, pc demote hdmi info off, power on usb off, the a6000 series cameras are more sensitive to this settings compared to the newer. It should 🤔 Most problems are related to the micro ubs cable. Are you 100% positive it is MULTI?

@@nunoblack interesting, so the camera is set correctly and is the original sony cable, then the only other loose end is the adapter If is a charge only adapter and not a data transfer adapter it might couse connection problems. I no longer own the a6600 but i tried using a generic usb A to lightning and it did't work. It only worked with the original apple adapter.

Yes, In my case since im still using the 14 with lightining I personally use the original apple adapter with usb A and lighting ports. so when im using the iphone as monitor i can always plug the lightining port to charge the phone simultaneously.

If you mean chaning for example from recording 4k 30 to 4k60, some models only allows control of shutter speed, iso and aperture, other parameters are still needed to be modified in the camera.

the zve10 is compatible the only limitation is you cant be able to access the camera files from the monitor+ app. (review content) the zve10 does support wireless connection. and the iphone 14 pro max is compatible, thats the model im using.

You mean instead of using the micro usb Multi port connecting the camera directly to the usb c port in the camera to the lighting port in the phone? haven't tried that one. but the official documentation of Monitor+ says you can only use the usb c port in the camera if the phone is USB-C

its a very good question. But why you have connected your gimbal to the camera? i used the zhiyun weebill-s the crane m3 and the dji rs3 and rs4 and personlly never connected to the camera, and I think i dont miss much functionality. I only find compatible to start and stop recoring and there is so much more you can do with that port. But if you need to have your camera connected to the gimbal via de multi port, you can use the micro hdmi but its going to be other solution like using a dedicated monitor with hdmi input, or using a wireless transmitter also connected to the hdmi port. But i have read all the documentation from monitor+ and did't find any information about using the hdmi port instead of the usb, sadly.

Yes, the a6400 is compatible only wired connection with some limitations.

The R models supported are from the III to the V, A7R and A7RII are not supported.

Does it lag for you when you switch it to video?

In the video I use the Micro USB Multi to USB A that is included in the box with the camera. Its different from other Micro USB, the multi does have more pin connections vs the normal micro usb.

Im wondering if this switching from pic to video is available only in the A7sii? In my tests the a6600 only worked when set on video.

Unfortunately the a6000 is not supported, wired or wireless according to the developers compatibility list. But if the camera have hdmi port you can always get a cheap monitor if a bigger screen and some video tools is what you’re looking for.

This app is, as far as I know, specifically designed for Sony cameras and only some models with specific image transfer protocols. But I’m positive each camera brand have their own app or a 3rd party app like this Monitor + for Sony.

according to the developers compatibility list the a6000 is out. Wireless or wired 😞 it’s sad such a nice tool being limited by the cameras firmware

Did not nothice this with my a6600, it is possible that the IBIS and or the steady shot from the lens get disabled when using this connection. I would recommned using the HDMI port instead with a dedicated monitor device.

@@RmsPaintStudio I have an iPhone and I used the original cable from the Sony camera and the usb-a adapter for the iPhone. I installed and ran the monitor + app and then connected the adapter cable to the phone and it recognized the camera model. Please, if you have more specific questions, let me know! Oh… last thing, ensure that the usb mode on the camera is set to PC remote then connect the camera to your phone. Sorry about that.

@@Yaj-Gnidblod nah, I think it's just the way it is, once you start recording, there's probably just too much data flowing and the wire or the app or whatever can't keep up... just my uneducated guess...
