You can keep your McCartney's, Lennon's, Jagger's and all the other so called stars. Jeff and ELO kept me going through my hospitalised youth. And Jeff is so, so underrated as a writer and performer. I grew up with his music in the 70's and 80's and still listen to it now. Remembering just how _"normal"_ the world was back then.

This band was an escape for me when I was a little girl. I grew up on the Indian Reservation and it wasn't easy! But,my cousin and would sit in my room with locked doors to keep the bad uncle away. We would sing and pretend we were different people. I love E.L.O!
I stopped listening to the music on the radio after the 90’s and that was pushing it. I understand every decade has its pros and cons, but since 2000 FORGET IT. I’m 59 btw and live in a big city and not a prude.

Funny you should mention that quote from John Lennon. Upon returning to the U. S. in late 1974 from an 8-month Med. Cruise on the USS Blakely DE1072, e had been isolated from top-40 radio for quite sometime. When we approached the East coast of the U.S. and came into reach of Hit Radio stations, someone out on deck had a radio turned up and we heard this song "Can't Get it Out of My Head". All of us thought it was a new song by Lennon (maybe even a new Beatles Reunion Song). Not to mention the 3 surviving Beatles hired Jeff to produce their 1995 single releases of one of John's long lost songs........Sorry about the long rant.

I have a tendency not listen to what the radio plays... anyway, I watched Jeff's involvement with the other bands and I always had this idea that Jeff was more than the leader of a band. As it turns out, he's probably a Catastrophist, which is cool, because I can prove the science to you, but that Jeff knows is my fun way of dealing with the knowledge. Back again 31 May 2024. So many memories of ELO when I was in the United States Marine Corps 1973-1977. Memories of Teri Holsenback from Jacksonville, NC when I was stationed at Camp LeJeune. She's passed away.
Everyone who complained about ELO hasn’t seen them live. They traveled with a full orchestra, a choral ensemble and performed their songs exactly like their studio music. It was complicated and fantastically complex and beautiful
Jeff is undoubtedly the most UNDER-RATED musicians of all time. His voice, his lyrics, putting The Wilburys together in 3 days..he is beyond awesome. Thank you Jeff, just hearing your voice is so soothing. So humble, so freaking talented..Amazing man.

Three days and the were at it 24/7. Egos checked at the door. It is amazing to listen to Tweeter and The Monkey Man, knowing the song and all the others came together that quickly.

I was going to see him July 9th at the BTT center in Ft Lauderdale, but we are going on a cruise to Alaska, so I will miss him,,, very disappointed....was looking forward to taking my son.....

I saw them in Toronto July 18 2019 ( Best Concert of my life) All the reviews agree they are the best live act in the world and Jeff Lynne is a Music Genius. They are in the Rock Hall of Fame. Lynne is on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and Birmingham Walk OF Fame. Jeff Lynne’s ELO won the Best Classic Rock Band plus Lynne won the best Song Writer award ( ASCAP ) 2019 for his fantastic contribution over the years. The Legends in the Music Industry call Jeff Lynne the best overall Musician ever and a Producer Extraordinaire. Electric Light Orchestra is a fantastic band. What astounded me most when I saw Jeff Lynne’s ELO live in concert a couple of years ago, is the contrast between how they sound on a personal electronic device or hi fi stereo & how they sound in a large entertainment venue with a professional sound system. They sounded about 3000x as good in the large venue. This is truly a band that MUST be experienced live to be truly appreciated.
I saw my first Rock concert in Tulsa, OK on 3/17/77. It was ELO, A New world Record tour. It was the first Laser light concert in America. I had listened to the debut of the LP on KMOD 97.5 in November of 1976 with my grade school friend, Dave L. He and I were big Electric Light Orchestra fans! My favorite song on the album was Telephone Line. I was a sopmore in high-school and my friend, Steve B drove us from Coffeyville, KS, 70 miles north of Tulsa. To the show. It was a Thursday. We twisted a lefty and Drank a couple of Schiltz beers. The light show was Amazing! On Friday morning, with the sounds of Amplifiers still ringing in my ears, I walked into the wrong classroom for my first class! I was still stoned.
I have always associated "Strange Magic" with the feeling I had after seeing my future wife for the for the first time...
God gives us gifts of all kinds, and Jeff is truly one he gave to the world to enjoy while we're here.

I have a tendency not listen to what the radio plays... anyway, I watched Jeff's involvement with the other bands and I always had this idea that Jeff was more than the leader of a band. As it turns out, he's probably a Catastrophist, which is cool, because I can prove the science to you, but that Jeff knows is my fun way of dealing with the knowledge. Can't prove it, but I could make you wonder. lol Anyway, I've been listen to ELO now... a lot.

Everyone who complained about ELO hasn’t seen them live. They traveled with a full orchestra, a choral ensemble and performed their songs exactly like their studio music. It was complicated and fantastically complex and beautiful
How could anyone complain about ELO. Magic. Saw them 3xs in concert. I was so lucky. So different from anyone with one of the best vocalist ever.

Three days and the were at it 24/7. Egos checked at the door. It is amazing to listen to Tweeter and The Monkey Man, knowing the song and all the others came together that quickly.

Jeff Lynne’s ELO won the Best Classic Rock Band plus Lynne won the best Song Writer award ( ASCAP ) 2019 for his fantastic contribution over the years. The Legends in the Music Industry call Jeff Lynne the best overall Musician ever and a Producer Extraordinaire. And don't forget, he was in the Super Group of all the Groups the Traveling Wilburys with George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan... Long live Jeff Lynne’s ELO!

Electric Light Orchestra is a fantastic band. What astounded me most when I saw Jeff Lynne’s ELO live in concert a couple of years ago, is the contrast between how they sound on a personal electronic device or hi fi stereo & how they sound in a large entertainment venue with a professional sound system. They sounded about 3000x as good in the large venue. This is truly a band that MUST be experienced live to be truly appreciated.

I saw my first Rock concert in Tulsa, OK on 3/17/77. It was ELO, A New world Record tour. It was the first Laser light concert in America. I had listened to the debut of the LP on KMOD 97.5 in November of 1976 with my grade school friend, Dave L. He and I were big Electric Light Orchestra fans! My favorite song on the album was Telephone Line. I was a sopmore in high-school and my friend, Steve B drove us from Coffeyville, KS, 70 miles north of Tulsa. To the show. It was a Thursday. We twisted a lefty and Drank a couple of Schiltz beers. The light show was Amazing! On Friday morning, with the sounds of Amplifiers still ringing in my ears, I walked into the wrong classroom for my first class! I was still stoned.
