I'm listening in 2024 to 📞 Line. 69 years old from Michigan. Jeff is amazing at his age. He keeps on making incredible music. Can make us smile. Can make us cry. Love ELO
Here at 70 yrs, wish I had a telephone line 🙂
You're so right
This is magical. Great to see the audience reliving their youth. 😊
Same age in Adelaide South Australia .. followed them most of my life ...legends all !
Hello Kevin, i am 59 years old from Germany near Munich and you are so right. I believe i was 12 or 13 years old when i heard for the first time ` Telephone Line `. This magical and wonderful music accompanied me throughout life until today. I believe Jeff is a really great person too - he has definitely George Harrison, Tom, Roy and Bob their best time of life bestowed. I never saw their faces so happy like in time with `The Traveling Wilburys `- he is beyond great.
Kevin i wish you a good time.
Kind regards, Roland
“Jeff Lynne” had his own style, his own unique voice, and ability to capture the masses of people attention. Can’t really describe it any other way.
Has.

I am 72 now. I grew up in the best years of popmusic.
Jeff is a great man!
No you didn't. I did! Just joking with you mate, I'm 74 now, and you're dead right. How could you beat the music we had as kids, teens, even into our 40s
He's a legend.
I am 70 and have same opinion.
76, I grew up in the 60's, 70's, 80's, I'm still growing up. I don't ever want to stop. Music is an integral part of my life. Each and every day, I start it with music. Of how lucky can you get. It doesn't stop, every decade gives you great sounds, and I appreciate the singers and groups who put their stuff out there for the world to share.
JUST LOVE IT ALL. ❤❤❤❤
@rowley1950
1948, Us oldies have the luckiest time with music. Technology has given us a chance to nearly always relive our favourite moments. I'm amazed at how deeply the songs of our youth are entrenched in our brains. You can hear a wonderful song you haven't heard for 60 years and the words just spring to mind, along with the memories if what you were doing at the time. I just love it ❤❤❤
Is it ok for a 67 year old man to cry listening to this gorgeous song? Thank you E.L.O. You were there in my youth and still there in my old age.
Pure youth sentiment. Cry when ever you want, I know the feeling.
My dad's 70. I'm 36. He used to love ELO from the 70s to 90s and beyond and I always remember him playing it in the car when we were going places. I used to like it but was too 'cool' that I didn't want to admit it.
Listening to this now does bring tears to my eyes as I remember special times with him and now that I'm older I listen to the words and start to wonder what I'm going to do one day when he doesn't answer the phone any more. He's always been a simple man but a good man with a lot of life experience that I ask for today.
Jeff himself is 70 at the time, just so you know.
65 here and tears are streaming down my cheeks
ALWAYS
1977 and sounds great now, musicians now sound like noise. Jeff Lynne/ELO Genius. So says this young person, who knows what music is meant to sound like.
Hey there, young person, there's some oldies who feel the same way... Just love some of the older groups that I grew up with. I feel their music is kind of timeless and even future generations will feel the same way. Have a great life filled with your favourite sounds. ❤❤

Such raw emotion and love. Wish I would've been there.

One of the great underrated bands of all time. Lynne looks like he teleported from somewhere in 1977 and just appeared backstage, 15 minutes before the show...
One of the most sincere and inspiered love songs, you can feel the pain in his passion...❤

Why underrated? No offense to you but no, they were never underrated. There is this TH-cam thing where the word underrated is very overused in the comments. See, I just used the word 3 times. Haha.

I finally saw ELO play at the TD Garden in Boston 9/23/2024. For 90 minutes, I was swept away into a place of light and sound, mesmerized and taken away from all the cares of the world. I was 14 when this song was released and here I am 50 years later 64 and finally able to see them live one last time. I was brought to tears with some of their songs including this one. It was such a rare opportunity to see this talented group of musicians play one more time. Music like this is just a gift from a bygone era. Thank you Jeff Lynn for all your hard work and dedication to producing, recording, touring and bringing this beautiful music to Boston and the world.

I guess I must be as old as your dad... but my dad loved them too and bought their records (vinyl) that we played often... along with many other great bands at the time. My oldest is 25 and there is no way she'd appreciate this. So, good for you to recognise great music.
Same as that brother father showed me proper music

What a joy it was as a kid in the 80's to discover my mom and dad's vinyl collection. The Beatles have been my favorite band since the moment I put Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band on the record player (dad's favorite bands are Jethro Tull, Zeppelin, Queen, and Uriah Heap and mom loves Heart, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, and David Bowie). I somehow missed ELO.......just discovered them recently. What a treat it is to find a new band that has great song after great song after great song!

@CatherineHatton AMEN.....Catherine. I totally agree with you. The noise they call rap just gives me a headache, and I immediately go to my ELO favorites. (Which of course is all of it!!) I'm 66, and my #1 song is "Mr. Blue Sky." From California USA
Imagine what those from the 50's would be saying, if they're still above ground.
Jeff Lynne is one of the most talented performers / musicians of all time. His voice is ethereal. So much damned talent. We love you Jeff Lynne, and we thank you for making the world a brighter place. I am so grateful for his talent it is just unbelievable.
You said it !!!! He was and Is still Amazing .

Very few if any can move me like Jeff Lynne can. He not only sings with that indescribable voice. He also can and has played all instruments on his albums, with the exception of those irreplaceable classical musicians on bass viola and violin.
He also writes his songs, and PRODUCES them as well of to songs from artists such as The Beatles, Tom Petty, George Harrison, and more.
He is simply "Mr. Music," and should be Knighted if not already. I just call him "The Man," and think that distills all of this down quite well. Yeah, Mr. Music and The Man are quite descriptive of this man and his many talents.
I'd do just about anything legal if I could meet him in person one day.
Absolutely awesome. Talented from the top to the bottom. What a band
This is not ELO, not even close. Lynn is the only ELO guy here.
It gives me goosebumps when I see how the magic of the moment instantly gets to people’s hearts. Couples dancing cheek-to-cheek, others singing with so much passion. What a masterpiece!
It is such a beautiful song I feel ya
Lo más notable ..la emoción llegó a todos❤
The look in that woman’s eyes really got me
I want to be dancing cheek to cheek…
Well said my friend, I was going to leave a similar comment but you have put it so nicely all I will do is agree!
I've loved many artists in my 65 years of life. But Jeff Lynne is the only one who never disappointed me. I bought everything he did since 1974 and will always be there for his music because it's always been there for me.
I think Jeff goes into a cryogenic tank after every show. He really is timeless
🥶😰🥺🥺🥺🥺😝🤫😂
This incredible performance by Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra should have more than 200 million views ❤😎👍
Saw ELO in 76 when I was 17 years old. It was a great concert but now at 62 I realize that back then I didn’t appreciate how fantastic ELO is.
Went too quickly didn’t it? I was 18 in 1976.😊🇨🇦
Omg just rediscovered elo after many many years without it, what was I thinking? Sooo good wonderful sound back in my life thanks a million
@Jeff Lynne a little town in Wisconsin, been here all my life of 62 years!
@Jeff Lynne since the 70’s
@Jeff Lynne oh sure I’d love to text in private with a world wide rock icon, but I didn’t fall off a turnip truck yesterday, so whatever scam this is no thanks mr blue sky
Ho 77 anni e con grande gioia ascolto Jeff Lynne, mi unisco a coloro che lo amano da sempre 😊.......
Jeff definitely makes one of the most original sounds of music with ELO.
Thx Jeff. Your a talented human being!
Jeff Lynn is one of the most under rated musicians in Rock n Roll history.
Most definitely!
This song makes me cry and smile at the same time. Thank you Jeff.
Jeff Lynne is a fantastic singer, composer, musician and Producer. He is a Music God!
And he's a Brummie
@@jonrowen6021 And he's a Travelling Wilbury. That's a Godsend! Do Ya agree?
.... and a Brummie.
I'm with you on that one mate all day long 👍
One of my favorite singers.
This song showcases his abilities.
Many songs he sings don't
If he had the songs, wow.
Endless talent. A natural
I think this is the 10th time I've hit replay on this music. I'm soaring, weeping, lonely, in love and addicted to this music.
TRUTH is in The Word. Joe found out Before most of us and He started down his road Before We did, too. "One Day @ A Time", Juli. One Day At A Time. For a Life Time.
I'm with yea
I put it on nearly every day, what a performance 👏 🙌 👌
Jeff is a musical genius.

This video should have 100 million views at the very least. This Jeff Lynne's ELO performance is fantastic! Long live the music genius Jeff Lynne!
My dad’s favourite band. I’m 30 years old and grew up on ELO, the eagles, 10cc. Timeless music. I feel like my generation doesn’t appreciate classics like these
ELO has a timeless history of making great music! 🎵 Always appreciated!
Omg yes
It’s Christmas night 2022. A sublime way to end a lovely day. ELO have been a constant in my life. An island of beautiful music I always return to. Happy 2023 everyone and let there be peace. ❤️❤️❤️
The greatest musical event in my lifetime is that Mr. Jeff Lynne played the Hyde Park festival in late 2015, and he had an epiphany. He discovered, after years of hating the idea of touring (he and George Harrison both did and that made a Traveling Wilburys tour impossible), that he really enjoyed playing live. At the same time, fans the world over rediscovered ELO's immense catalog of wonderful songs, and the die was cast. Now, after touring and perfecting the show, this film and album come out and it's all musical perfection. Jeff deserves this. His songs are timeless. He's getting the attention and the accolades he has always deserved. I am beyond delighted.
2014?
Well said. I'm one of those people who's discovered ELO in recent years, I have most of his classics on my playlists and he's inspired me to sing and play guitar myself. What a wonderful musician he is.
The concert you refer to was actually in September 2014 and on my birthday! Just seeing it go out live on TV was the best birthday present ever.
Dirk Yarborough saw the 2017 gig at Sheffield Arena ..awesome
Dirk Yarborough very well said..i think you talk 4 .All of us .the people that appreciate such an awesome talent..thank you.
I just saw the Farewell "Over and Out Tour" tonight in Chicago. Jeff Lynne can still rock at 76 and the band he has assembled was flawless. They played a nearly two-hour set. His vocals are still strong and touching, especially this song. I'd never seen him live - so happy I had this opportunity to witness a legend still great at his craft and loved by 20,000 fans in the sold out United Center.
@bradleyjohnson9981 Wow, how lucky you were to see them in their final farewell concert. I saw them in 2017 in Los Angeles, and I will cherish it forever. Now I'm 66 and still loving everyone of their songs.
I bought A NEW WORLD RECORD when it was just released -76 and Telephone Line was and still is my favorite song from it. But this live performance is pure magic! 41 years later tells how timeless is Jeff Lynne`s music. So happy to see this masterpiece! Brings back a lot of good memories!
You are so right. Not only is the music flawless the but whole experience is brought together in this video with the gorgeous venue, city views, spaceship set, lighting and the audience participation and reactions.
Love this song but this live version with the crowd and all of there emotions just hit different wow man
I saw them live in Chicago 2 or 3 years ago. Incredible performance by the entire band! This song actually brought me to tears. I had to try and hide it from my friends so I didn't look like a little bitch! Amazing!!!
@@RMSDRUMMER 🤣🤣🤣 shit let them roll 😢 wish I could've been there would love to see them live
I saw and heard it too brother. Most in the crowd didn't hear Who Joe dedicated This song to. YOU and I caught it.
@@forgottenvet6055 Who did he dedicate it to? The rest of us weren't there...
@@thebordernow OOPS! Wrong TH-cam video. So Sorry but it was meant to be posted on Joe Walsh video "One Day at a Time-Just One More Day".
I am just praying the world will defeat Covid-19 so we can come together once again for beautiful music like this.
Amen to that.
Amen but that will never happen as long as we allow them to separate us.
Get out and live......politicians want you in your house to hijack the vote.
Bang on James! 👍
