Here are a couple of accompaniments to the Food Series: One is "The Leftovers" which is basically all of the joke fragments and bits I pulled when editing the series (going at least as far back as Where to Food) lumped together in a long-form fever dream of a YTP: th-cam.com/video/d-6ChORX0kU/w-d-xo.html The other is the unedited original series in full as a pack with additional resources like blank graphics and a full transcript so that folks can make their own YTPs of Chef Jonathan Lonathan. That link is in the video description. Maybe I might upload the whole Food YTP Series as a standalone compilation here on TH-cam if anyone's interested.
"If you don't believe me, burn yourself on a hot pan." This one really got me, probably because that's exactly how my friends and I talk to each other.
Beforehand, afterhand. Afterwards, beforewards. How, what, where, who, why, when; somehow, somewhat, somewhere, somewho, somewhy, somewhen. Take English and make it your own...glish. It is the way of the punster.
Things I learned from Chef Lonathan today: Danger of zucchini Using a microwave to teleport small objects Numbers Not sharpening knives Choking on tea is bad This has been a food day.
I have to say I really appreciate your closed captions, they’re always perfectly timed and I feel like I’m not getting the full experience if I have them turned off
The trip thing is, I was sipping Earl Grey and low key spit up my tea laughing at that tea spitting bit. I've officially entered some type of YTP paradox.
You are the most QUALITY YTP creator I have ever watched.. I'm serious. I've been subscribed to you for a while now and I always get excited to see new instalments! I love that your videos aren't just, well, rapid-fire vulgar expressions and epilepsy hazards. The gags you write are genuinely funny -- sometimes I'll just be going about my day and remember "late-teenth century" and I just start giggling uncontrollably. Sometimes when I'm in a bad mood, my partner pulls up Postman Tap to cheer me up. Thanks for providing a myriad of inside jokes and generally keeping the YTP community quality!
this is truly one of the best videos on this website. like how does it even occur to you that Where It's At could be reconstructed from Jonathan Lonathan's voice fragments‽ insane in every good way.
5:23 I love the idea of an instructional cooking video where every segment is either "you already know how to do this, I'm not gonna talk about it" or "I'm just gonna save this for a video of its own"
the repeat gag of the dude choking on boba caught me so off guard, got me cry laughing over the stupidest shit. Fantastic work as usual, you keep YTP culture alive with your effort
3:42 - 4:30 is the hardest I've laughed in weeks. There are so many crappy YTPs out there where just repeating a single funny word gets annoying, but this somehow manages to get funnier and funnier instead.
@@atlas2903 Well for me it's just that each instance of it has a different build up. Like after the first one he goes "Today I had a -OUGHUH-" Then he's like "Okay way hold on-way-hold-way-hold-way-hold -OUGHUH-" Uhh... And then right when he gets past it it reverses and he goes OUGHUH again like he's trapped in an endless streak of spitting up boba. Then after that everything he says leads into the next time he spits up. Not saying it's objectively funny but that's what does it for me, there's this anticipation like DaThings is playing a prank on the guy where he can't stop spitting up boba (That compared to most repetitive YTPs where it's just nonsensically spamming the sound again and again.)
The best way I can describe this section is that it's like being repeatedly zapped but being told that it's going to happen at different times, like sometimes the shock is out of nowhere, sometimes it's exactly when it's expected, and sometimes it's not there when you're told it will be. Some kind of cyclical hell but for humour instead of torture (there is a difference, probably)
Of all the things in this video, the broccoli accidentally getting disappeared by the microwave around 5:08 was the most hilarious thing and it had me laugh uncontrollably for 2 minutes straight.
Ellie, as always, thank you so much for your content warnings. While they do not apply to me, I'm sure there are people who need them. You are a kind, considerate person!
You've been the best YTPer in the game for quite some time now, and it was only further proven by your use of 'Definitely Maybe' in the credits of this one. You leave no stone unturned in your videos in terms of abundant creativity and fantastic obscure references.
One of those times I'm comforted in knowing that if Jonathan Lonathan was about to get seriously injured by his kitchen technique, DaThings would warn us. 😅 I've always been mildly skittish about using really sharp knives in the kitchen because I know I would mess things up rather easily.
Favorite moments and some thoughts, but not a complete list: 1. That must be the microwave from Steins;Gate, lol. 2. "This is a Chinese Face Cleaver." (Note: The implement is Chinese, the faces can be from anywhere.) This pretty much ended me and it wasn't even a minute into the video 😂 3. I could've gone my whole life without seeing the guy spit up boba tea, but by the third time it happened, you got me and I was laughing 😅 4. *Puts rawccoli in microwave, hits 60 seconds, realizes mistake* "Oh no, I accidentally hit the reset button!" *Tries to take back the rawcolli...but it has already reset back to nothingness. Chef Johnathan Lonathan can only helplessly shrug* 😂😂😂 It was the dismayed patting of the hand in the empty microwave that also sold it, lol!
The mantle of how to food shall be passed onto another. Eventually we may one day have How 2 Food. But your work here is done, Ellie. You have taught well.
Thank you for continuing this YTP series for as long as you have. Chef Johnathan's kitchen shenanigans have become what I look forward to most on this platform.
I'm glad to see Lonathan got stopped from repeating the microsins of forethather: Pol Martain Lovely finale to a great series of YTP and I'm proud to have my name immortalized in this last installment of Food proper
something ive always appreciated is that chef jonathan lonathan isnt actually telling you to cut off your fingers in the flinders segment, hes telling you to do something unknown with a knife and your fingers that results in you being left with just a palm, but then he clarifies that you have to do it without poking or slicing or cutting
When that dangerous zucchini appeared on the screen, I quivered and whimpered with terror. Never have I seen such a horrendous sight. I'm going to have nightmares for weeks.
Jonathan Lonathan pffft XD you can't just do that to me right off the bat I almost spat on my monitor! This is honestly one of the best YTPs you've made recently, absolutely hilarious!
i laughed so hard at the entire tea part and when it got to the assertive “…. okay?” from jonathan lonathan i nearly threw up. TEARS IN MY EYES. i dont know why it was so fucking funny
Thanks to Chef Jonathan Lonathan I now know how to properly use that slicing technique. It's silly but this gave the proper camera angles to see how it's actually done for real. So, I guess Mr. Lonathan actually is teaching How To Food. Thanks!
Aaron Fink choking on the tea is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in a YTP, and the editing on the fast knife cuts was so beautiful that it looks like it's part of the actual video. I feel like you missed an opportunity to make Jonathan say "cuckles" instead of knuckles, that's my only suggestion for an otherwise outstanding vid.

Twin Chefs: The Leftover Pieces
I'm interested! I'd love to have it all together! Would be much easier to show new friends too.
Keep up the good work!
I, for one would be incredibly interested.
My interest is maximised!
The "reset button" joke was so surprisingly effective
I love the way he puts his hand in the microwave. He looks so sad 😂
Yes it was
Definitely not amateurish
I wasn't expecting to actually, vocally laugh from a joke in the video until that happened
I need one of those on my roomba
The way he says "Remember this jelly donut," the donut disappears, "cause you can never go back" sounds so menacing for some reason
I believe John Lennon said it best when he sung, "Imagine there's no jelly donuts. It's easy if you try..."
The only thing we have to food is food itself.
@@phillip5245 Imagine no Berliners
It's a metaphor for clinging to the past because someone told you it was important.
i love how it's heavily implied he has a vendetta against food
"If you're cooking raw broccoli, you're cooking rawccoli." Words to live by.
That dangling bit though...so annoying.
"If you don't believe me, burn yourself on a hot pan."
This one really got me, probably because that's exactly how my friends and I talk to each other.
LMAO
Remember, it’s not technically a threat if they’re burning themselves
"If you don't believe me, then square up, Slick." Fucking knocked me out. Killer job as always.
I love how he flops down his arm for arm wrestling lmao. They say Chef Lonathan broke a man's arm once.
Mama said knock you out
Just believe me don't watch
Same
"Afterhand" is another one of those jokes where you don't really even realize a word is a composite word until you see part of it switched around
Makes me wonder why "beforehand" even exists when "afterhand" doesn't.
Why don't we have "beforeward" for that matter?
Beforehand, afterhand. Afterwards, beforewards.
How, what, where, who, why, when; somehow, somewhat, somewhere, somewho, somewhy, somewhen.
Take English and make it your own...glish. It is the way of the punster.
@@nebuleon Drive on a parkway, park in a driveway 🤷🏻♂️ Lol

Why is the opposite of backward "forward" when it should be "frontward?"
That man continuously barfing up the tea had me in stitches lol. Well done.
I was eating a yogurt with fruit chunks in it and seeing constant barf on my screen really took away my appetite 😬
@@DuckInGameStop Honestly I was eating too but I was trying to spit my own food up from laughing
The little jingle after he says "I'm from Texas y'all" absolutely murdered me
He didn't sound like a man. More like one of them modern skizofrenics who believe they're someone else than they are.
That was the only part in the video I wish had been kept out. Just gross and repetitive. The rest of the video was hilarious.
The inclusion of the boba tea freakout guy had me honking like a goose over here
Having the text chatter be made using Jonathan Lonathan's actual voice is such a great touch.
Idk why, but the Chinese Face Cleaver graphic KILLED me. “The implement is Chinese, the faces can be from anywhere.” 😂
3:42 I really did just sit there and rewatch edited clips of someone regurgitating their tea for a minute straight multiple times god I need help
0:34 could've sworn that was a rice ball
Is this in reference to the Pokemon anime Onigiri joke?
Things I learned from Chef Lonathan today:
Danger of zucchini
Using a microwave to teleport small objects
Numbers
Not sharpening knives
Choking on tea is bad
This has been a food day.
Also that all knives have fingers
Who knew you can choke on tea
Also how to cut properly-that is, without poking, slicing, or cutting.
And that all you have to food is food itself.
@@abitofabitofabit4404but do it afterhand.
5:10 when he accidentally resets the rawccoli in the microwave and just moves on to the next sequence was so effectively good 😂

AKA brushing your teeth
I have to say I really appreciate your closed captions, they’re always perfectly timed and I feel like I’m not getting the full experience if I have them turned off

Lonothan is a professional.
Glad to see Johnathan Lonathan finally letting himself brag a bit, showing off his ownership of Food Inc.
Love to see him moving up in the world
I feel like it's more that his past CEO->COO->CTO demotions have hurt him badly, so he's trying to muster however much pride he can.
Always sends a chill down my spine when Zucchini yells “ZUCCHINI SQUASH!”
I love when the Zucchini comes in and says "Zucchini Squash!" to the bad guys, and Zucchinis all over the place.
That was a spectacular finale
That was a spenale
So what I am to take from this video is "remember the jelly doughnut" I guess for all eternity? I wasn't ready for this responsibility.
It's fine, you can just put it in the microwave and hit the reset button.
I’ll jelly your donut :]
And we're never going back, bby
the reset button gag was a good start, then you brought it back so perfectly. and them him checking the microwave goes so perfectly with that joke🤣
That "all directions" gag sent me
The trip thing is, I was sipping Earl Grey and low key spit up my tea laughing at that tea spitting bit. I've officially entered some type of YTP paradox.
The boba tea part had me laughing so loud, my cat tried to comfort me because she thought something was wrong 😂😂

I am always so happy to see a new YTP. My heart just flulfs.

The Dorito Taco guy’s scream really caught me offguard in the tea section lmao
Also, couldn’t have thought of a more magnificent ending there
When he said "stand out in the middle of the dining room and shave a line of people. 250 people long cause its mother day..." I felt that.

I love this part. He musta really loved his tea!
Wow! Was not expecting a *Beck* reference of all things! Also...that tea choke mixing was top notch
