Paulemics: The history of terrible Muslim arguments against the Apostle Paul

  • Muslims on the 9th century faced a problem: their Quran told them it affirms the Scriptures of the Jews and Christians, but the newly translated Arabic Bible didn't remotely matchup with what the Quran says on virtually anything. Abandoning Islam wasn't an option, so they needed a scape goat. It couldn't be Jesus or his disciples, because the Quran declared them to be faithful Muslims. It couldn't emperors or popes, because they came far too late to explain the complete lack of evidence that Jesus ever had any Muslim followers. That only left one candidate - Paul.
And thus was born the field of Paulemics whereby Muslims claim Paul somehow overrode the will of Allah and deceived more than 2 billion people, leaving no one with the "truth" until Muhammad came along six centuries later. Lloyd de Jongh joins me live to explore the history of argument against Paul, with an eye towards how we can better refute them in ways that get through the Muslim walls of ignorance.

It would be interesting to learn why Muslims believe that Christianity suddenly changed 81 years after Jesus's Crucifixion. That would date to around 111-4AD.
However, we know that Domitian was persecuting Christians in the 90s and that after 70AD Christianity effectively became a Gentile religion (a process which Paul and other apostles had begun in the 40s). Christian beliefs and rituals soon developed to become quite distinct from early Rabbinical Judaism (such that by around 90AD Christians were no longer welcome to worship in Synagogues). In any case, the divergence of Christianity and Judaism was complete by the end of the 1st Century.
My thinking leads me to assume that Muslims identify Marcion of Sinope, who promoted his own Gospel and some of Paul's letters, as the point at which Christians started using a canon of Scripture which was different from Jewish Scripture. But then again, Marcion was influential towards the middle of the 2nd Century; but not at the beginning of the century.
I must be missing a few pieces of the Jigsaw puzzle.

It has also been proposed, that the apostle John's vision about the 666 was because he was reading it as Greek, but it was actually Arabic, which was not developed until centuries after John. So, he may have thought it was the numerical value of the "Greek" letters he saw. There are videos and photos where it shows the Greek letters side by side with the Arabic calligraphy writing "allah" and it looks almost identical. 🤷‍♀

If there's one thing Paul wasn't able to corrupt, it was Islamic history, as pristine and accurate as the day someone told someone who told someone who told someone.

Thank you Lloyd for mentioning yesha… I have also been wondering where the quranic Jesus got his name عيس from .
Wikipedia: Yathaʾ (Arabic: يثع, lit. 'Savior') is a pre-Islamic god worshiped by the Sabaeans and Himyarites of Yemen. Nine kings have a theophoric name prefixed by Yathaʾ. The name may be an archaic equivalent to יֵ֫שַׁע (yesha - yeh'-shah), which is a masculine noun meaning "salvation." See Strong's Hebrew: 3468 for details.
Savior God. A Himyaritic deity, to whom, in conjunction with the other local gods, a temple was erected in Abyan by Abd-shams-Aslam and his brother Marthad. He was the special guardian of the town of Aden, and his analogue was the Chaldean divinity Salman.[1]

The scariest part of Islam is that you don't even realize you were apart of a cult. The questions of reasoning come, but we are constantly gaslighted/lied to by dawah groups, and "scholars" who know nothing, and just repeat what their forefathers told them. For me, if your main book of your religion has several contradictions, its proof it isn't preserved at all and subject of manipulation.

God said to Adam:“The day you eat [from the tree] you will surely die.” Genesis 2:17. This command would have been meaningless if Adam had been created to grow old and die. Adam knew that if he did not eat from that tree, he would not die.

In the Bible, the Greek word translated "resurrection" means "to stand" or "to restore." The resurrected person is resurrected from the dead and is the same person who was before. 1 Corinthians 15:12, 13.
It is true that the word "resurrection" is not found in the Hebrew Scriptures, which are known as the Old Testament, but the promise of resurrection is there. For example, through the prophet Hosea,God promised:“I will rescue them from the hand of the grave, and I will rescue them from death.” Hosea 13:14; Job 14: 13-15; Isaiah 26:19; Daniel 12: 2, 13.
Where will people be resurrected? Some people will be resurrected to live in heaven. There they will reign with Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 5: 1; Revelation 5: 9, 10.The Bible calls this resurrection "the first resurrection" and the word "first" makes it clear that there will be another resurrection. Revelation 20: 6 That other resurrection will be for the living on paradise earth, and most of the dead will be resurrected in this way.
    Psalm 37:29.
How are the dead raised?God gave Jesus the power to resurrect the dead. John 11:25. Jesus will bring to life “all those in the memorial tombs,” each with his own personality, attributes, and memories.
    John 5:28, 29.
Some will be resurrected to live in heaven, while others will be resurrected to live on paradise earth with perfect and healthy bodies. Isaiah 33:24; 35: 5, 6. 1 Corinthians 15: 42-44, 50
They multiply priests and saints with sad faces pile up, perform miracles, cast out demons. But Jesus said,The tree is known by its fruit.
    MATTHEW
    7: 21-23:
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.22 Many will say to me in that day,'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and did many miracles in your name?'23 Then i will tell them plainly that I did not know you at all.Get away from me, you workers of iniquity.
    Matthew 7: 15-20
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 By their fruits ye shall know them.Do they gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles?17 So every good tree bringeth forth good fruit;and an evil tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.20 Ye shall know them by their fruits.
    B.LETTER TO CORINTHIANS
    11: 13-15:
13 For such are the apostles, liars, deceitful workers, impersonating the apostles of Christ.14 And it is not surprising. because Satan also takes the form of a bright angel.15 Wherefore, it is not a great thing that his ministers should be likened unto the ministers of righteousness. Their end will be in proportion to their deeds.
4: 4. In whom is the god of this world.
(Satan) blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the light of the glory of the gospel of Christ might not shine upon them, which is the image of God.
Eternal life is a free gift from God. The eternal punishment is not righteousness because how many years can a human beeing live at most?God is Love, merciful, righteous, forgiving.*(not punishing people. this is evil. God hates evil.)*
    Bible answers
    Ecclesiastes 3:19,20
19 for there is an outcome for humans and an outcome for animals, they all have the same outcome. As the one dies, so the other dies, and they all have but one life. So man has no superiority over animals,(No additional soul. Only have additional knowlege,thinking,talking,etc...)everything is futile. 20 All are going to the same place. They all come from the dust, and they all are returning to the dust.
    John 5:28,29
28 *Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.*

You are right to reach out to Moslems to bring them to Jesus' teachings.
However you should leave out Paul. For Paul not only fails to follow Jesus' teachings, but Paul goes against Jesus' teachings and usurps even specific positions of authority which Jesus had instructed not to.
Furthermore Jesus foretold of false prophets to come and Paul came even as fulfillment of that which Jesus warned and foretold about.

My friend, you are lost. Are you saying that God was not powerful enough to keep a "false apostle"/"false doctrine" out of his book? The eternal and omnipotent creator of the universe?🤔
