  • We will have Thaddeus from Reasoned Answers to follow our previous discussion about the source criticism of the Quran.
    Thaddeus Billman is a Christian TH-camr who is involved in outreach to Muslims. His channel, Reasoned Answers, features a combination of Christian apologetics and polemics against Islam. Thaddeus has been studying apologetics for more than two decades and is particularly interested in historical arguments for the truth of Christianity. He was introduced to Islamic polemics through David Wood's channel and soon recognized the huge need in this area. His TH-cam channel: / @reasonedanswers

    DCCI Ministries seek to preach the Gospel to Muslims using apologetics and polemics.
    Like the Apostle Paul, "we do not use deception, nor do we distort the Word of God" (2 Cor 4:2). Rather "we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God." Our motivation is love for Muslims to bring them to repentance and faith in Christ for eternal life.

      Thadeus, apologies had missed the live stream and would've ask this then...regarding Mohammad's/Qurans apparent use of predominately OT/Judaic teachings/stories over the use of the NT/Christian stories etc...do you have any idea of Islamic use of Jewish traditions 'Pirke Avot' (Ethics of the fathers)?... and perhaps more directly, do you have any awareness of Islams drawing more from the teachings of Shammai (Law) as opposed the Hillel (Grace) whom was said that Jesus had somewhat drawn/followed on (some say directly learned) from??

    • @ReasonedAnswers
      @ReasonedAnswers 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @thisblokeNice attempt to dodge with a bunch more nonsense about Christianity. Once again, even if Christianity were false (and your have no actual basis to judge - your mind is filled with propaganda, not facts), that would not make Islam true.

    • @ReasonedAnswers
      @ReasonedAnswers 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @thisbloke Yet again, even if Christianity is false, that doesn't make Islam true. Stop hiding behind blatant distortions of Christianity you got from liars and start thinking about your own religion. Start by explaining why your "god" tells 7th century Christians that they have no ground to stand upon if they don't judge by the Gospel they have if that Gospel is supposedly false. What kind of "god" instructs people to judge by false (according to you) books?

    O people, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind.

    I think the story of the visit of the Queen of Sheba is a perfect example of a story picked up casually. As the caravan traders are sitting around the campfire, swapping tales, one of them relates the mystic legend of the house made of glass. He makes a big deal about the queen lifting her skirts and tops it off by saying she had hairy legs. Laughs all around. Of course, King Solomon is not attracted by that! But Muhammad believed it.

    I think Islam exchanged Mary (maryam) and Miryam bc Miryam is a prophetess in the Bible and in the Quran (de facto) as well, bc Jibril was sent to her and talked to her. so it must have been a prophetess (even if the Quran doesnt call her nabiyya/rasoula). plus they could get rid of the Jewish descendance of Jesus and Joseph her fiancee) in one go.

      the untypical (later) reduction/truncation of the narration is due to limited human memory plus oral tradtion. thats why the Quran lacks almost always all the details sometimes even some or theee essentials, or if there are names, they got corrupted (ie.
