    Hi i want to add some important info, yes that method is work for installing Windows 11 (after do that step windows will allow you to upgrade to windows 11). But the problem is after you upgraded to Windows 11 in some user, some app like Valorant cant work, it still show you to turn secure boot even in bios is already enable. For who seek the answer i,ve just find how to do it.
    N.B. in my case im using ASUS ROG Motherboard.
    1. check your booting drive MBR or GPT. If MBR convert first to GPT. (Check via, press windows - computer management - disk management - right click on the disk - properties -device - "check the format either MBR ot GPT"
    2. if already GPT. go to Bios again, go to CSM Compability - then choose enable, the other option all choose to UEFI Only.
    3. after that back and click Secure boot, change os type to "Windows UEFI Only" and then change custom to standard.
    DONE, Enjoy valorant.
    this problem happen in some user and im encounter this too. this happened because after upgrade to windows 11, dont know why the CSM on Bios still legacy and uefi and somehow when booting windows will choose the legacy and it cant triggered secure boot to On. Secure Boot cant work in Legacy Windows, it will trigger to on with GPT Boot Drive and UEFI only Boot. Hope it help you guys if had the same problem like me.

    You're a life savior my friend. I bought a used ASUS Crosshair VIII Formula and for some reason the person I bought it from had Launch CSM Enabled. Your video is the only one that covered that setting in the ASUS bios and I'd spent the last 11 hours trying to get Windows 11 to load onto my new build. This is a full custom loop PC with all EK blocks and parts except fittings and tubing in an O11-XL ROG. All told I probably have $2k wrapped up in this build and it took me the better part of two years to get all the parts. This is not my first build by any stretch but it is a newer one with a lot of features I've never seen like the Launch CSM function. I know I'm very late to the party here but I just had to comment and thank you so much for this video. I've left a like and subscribed before I've even checked if you're still active on the channel as you've more than earned my gratitude. Thank you again for this amazingly simple video that instantly fixed my issues with my fresh install of Windows 11 by changing that one option. I've spent all day watching people use regedit or other means and honestly didn't want to go that route. I did try and get an ISO using Rufus but this rigs so old I couldn't get it or Microsofts own ISO creator to work just constant error messages. I actually splurged and bought an official Win 11 USB for this build thinking that would mean no issues, yeesh was I wrong. That's a lot of words to just say thank you but man you deserve it for remembering the simple rule of KISS, (keep it simple stupid). Thank you again I'll be watching any and all content you drop, take care...

    Hi! when I switch my “Launch CSM” option from enabled to disabled, my PC gets stuck in BIOS whenever I turn on/restart or try to exit BIOS. When I looked up how to get my PC to stop being stuck in BIOS, it said to switch “Launch CSM” back to the enabled setting. But if it’s on the ‘enabled’ option, my PC health Check app tells me I cant download W11 bc I don’t have secure boot enabled lol. I am stuck in a loop, any info to fix this?

    • @Bananabrain_xmf
      @Bananabrain_xmf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      More than likely your boot drive is set to MBR and not GPT format. So when you disable CSM you more or less are taking away your PCs ability to find the boot drive. Your only two options to correct this issue for windows 11 would be to reinstall windows with the correct settings in your BIOS or run the MBR2GPT tool. I have a video on my channel covering the MBR2GPT tool that you can run in windows. You can also use this to verify if your boot drive is in fact set to MBR. You can also do some searching online for the tool as well, plenty of information & write ups out there for it.

    • @Bananabrain_xmf
      @Bananabrain_xmf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Typically that means your boot drive is formatted to MBR & not GPT. So when you switch your BIOS mode it can't find the boot drive anymore. However, sometimes the issue is your BIOS doesn't know what drive to grab and you have to assign the boot drive as your boot drive in the BIOS, but that isn't a common occurrence in my experience.
      If your drive isn't formatted properly, you will either need to run the MBR2GPT tool in windows or reinstall windows with the BIOS set up for UEFI mode.
      Your hardware isn't the issue, I have an older chipset that that and CPU in one of my PCs and have no issues setting it up.

    After I disabled launch CSM, my computer was launching into bios and not windows. Is there a fix for that?

    • @Bananabrain_xmf
      @Bananabrain_xmf  ปีที่แล้ว

      If all you did was switch from CSM to UEFI mode, then your boot drive is more than likely formatted incorrectly for UEFI mode. You will either need to switch back to CSM and boot into Windows, then run the MBR2GPT tool to convert the drive, reboot, switch your BIOS to UEFI or install Windows fresh with the BIOS in UEFI mode.

    I have a question mine doesn’t have the amd ftpm switch option it only has the erase for factory reset option in the ftpm drop down menu how do I get mine to work like yours

      That is odd what CPU are you using and is this an off the shelf motherboard or one from a system integrator (like Dell, Asus, etc...)? It is also possible if isn't showing up if your motherboard BIOS is set to CSM and not UEFI.

    So I disabled CSM and now my pc doesn’t feed any signal to my monitor.
    It’s just on a dark screen with the boot yellow light on the mother board. Can someone help me get back into my bios??

      You can try clearing the CMOS by either removing the battery for about five minutes, with the PC turned off and unplugged, or see if you have a button or jumper on your motherboard.

    When I go in "boot", my "secure boot state" is on "user" and my "Platform Key (PK) state" is "unloaded" but my "OS Type" is on "Windows UEFI mode", how to change my platform key state on "loaded" like you ?

    • @Bananabrain_xmf
      @Bananabrain_xmf  ปีที่แล้ว

      Under that same menu, if you click on Key Management there should be some options to load different keys, I don't recall exactly the wording used on my motherboard, but basically switching it to "custom" and back to the "default/standard" should reload the keys and set the Platform Key State to Loaded.

      I am assuming you are referring to the Platform Keys (PK State) in the BIOS? If so, you will want to load the standard/default for that.
