    Thanks a lot. UFEI and boot failures are just scary especially when you don't have absolutely everything backed up.
    You're such a great resource and your explanations are so good and straightforward.
    I just got a new 7945HX laptop and I've heard that you should not update the BIOS when asked; so I need to sort that but just love this processor (CB=34800!).
    Thanks for all you do! It is nice to have someone that has your back when you are in PC-Hell...

      in my experience all windows systems are faulty and conflicts in software and problems with registry (by too much install deleting and then installing again the same software). theres always some f... issue and the fastest solution is re-installing Windows instead of searching for a needle in a haystack. I loose more time trying to find a solution unless the solution is obvious! so many hours wasted no thanks new install keep the old files no need to back up because theyr always on an another partition. 😊

    So I definately was in a state where I could not boot into windows and man am I thankful for you taking one for the team and making this tutorial. You both taught me something new and walked me through a process I thought I was gonna be stuck in forever. I am am seriously so thankful. Will be watching more videos to see what else I can learn since I have a new PC I plan to build this year.

    Thank you so much for this video. I stupidly deleted the bootloader using the AOMEI partition tool without understanding. After restart saw a black screen with "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key issue". Frantically was looking for an online solution (which also included clean installed that failed) for hours and came across your video. Just with faith, tried your guide and it fixed the corrupted boot. Didn't lose any personal data as it was a new machine I was tinker.

    THANK YOU!!! This was an absolute life saver. After 10+ hours of googleing and attempting other fixes on youtube, this FINALLY did the trick. I had my reservations as i was unable to back my machine up. I was able to manually back up my user files using cmd, but that was about as "backed up" as i could get, so had no choice but to take the risk in the formatting. I had few slight differences, but for the most part, everything worked the same. Only thing i couldnt then work out was at the very end when you mentioned using the USB stick again and upgrading the pc. Thank you again, cant express my gratitude enough.

      You don't use the USB stick again. You run the Media creation tool and select "Upgrade" instead of creating a recovery USB.

    Thanks a lot!

    An interesting thing to know is that you can create a virtual drive (VHD) and boot from this in the bcdboot database. This is a great way to 'dual boot' if you want two copies of Windows (one being a sandbox) or to tinker on a system without affecting the main system.

This will sound made up, but I literally spent 2 days and countless hours trying to clone my M.2 drive to an SSD because I did not think my motherboard supported an m.2 boot. I am embarrassed to say I went out and bought a new motherboard, new memory, new cooler, etc. and rebuilt my PC, still did not work. I worked on this since 2am and could not get it to work, went to bed and woke up and started another Clone software. it was running from the am until 7:30 pm with 23% complete before I found your video. Great video. I actually tried a few years ago to fix a system under w7 that had a corrupted boot/os and was never able to. The problem there was that when windows was updating or fixing an issue there was a power failure just during the boot screen, and it messed everything; it only loaded an error screen and not even boot options. Can't remember if it had a MBR or what, but I am glad to know that there are easyier methods to fix this for w10 or w11.

    The reason LIST VOL showed the USB drive is because VOL is independant from the selected disk, and shows all volumes on the system. You did not do it wrong, however it was not necessary to select the disk when you are using the volumes as a reference. If you do select the disk, LIST PART is more accurate as it will show the partitions on the selected disk. Both will give you the same results, but just wanted to let you know that you do not need to select the disk if you are going to select the volume rather than the partition.

    Excellent video. This worked for me, thank god.
    Something to add, if you're a Lenovo IdeaPad user and this issue occurs after cloning your SSD to a bigger drive:
    If you try to follow these steps, you'll see that your C drive is MISSING in diskpart. Don't panic. Boot into UEFI BIOS, and disable "Intel Controller VMD"; save and exit, then boot from Windows bootable drive. NOW, if you follow CyberCPU's steps, you should see your C drive as Disk 0, and you can proceed. IMPORTANT: after you're done with these steps, you might get a different blue screen with the ;( face. Just restart into BIOS again and re-enable Intel Controller VMD, save and exit. Voila.

    Can you make a video on how to fix crashes and freezes due to an error referenced as "Kernel-Power 41" without a clean install?

    • @xDovahOG
      @xDovahOG ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Speaking from personal experience, I've run into Kernel-Power 41 issues in the past. The main issue is that there isn't just one solid reason this can happen. One PC that I worked on had a single faulty RAM chip, another one had a faulty GPU, both of which with the same code. Kernel-Power 41 is a very ambiguous error code, I'd look into the hardware to see what may be causing it, with programs like MemTest86 or OCCT just to name two, both of which have helped me narrow things down in the past.

    • @CyberCPU
      @CyberCPU  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's going to be typically a hardware issue. It essentially just means that the computer shut down unexpectedly.
      I would start with how your computer is getting power. Make sure you're not using an ancient power strip or a UPS with a bad battery.
      If you're using a UPS you can test it by unplugging it from the wall and if it keeps the system running it should be fine. However if the system immediately shuts down when you unplug it then you probably need a new UPS or to replace the battery in your old one.
      Most of the time though this problem is going to come from a bad power supply.

    • @MeowChristodoulos
      @MeowChristodoulos ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CyberCPU I got my laptop about 2 years ago (it's a Lenovo ideapad3) so it's probably not using any ancient stuff. Also instead of shutting down or anything, it just freezes and sometimes even restarts on its own. And when it doesn't, I'm still able to close it by the power button. This means that some drivers ARE able to run even after this. And this mostly happens when I open it after I put it to sleep mode or hibernation.
      EDIT: There's actually some problems with the RAM recently (can use only 3GB out of 8), although it appeared way later the Kernel-Power issue occured. Could it be related?

    No help for me here. I installed the latest windows update on my ASUS GL512 last week. I rebooted after the update was complete. Getting ready for a trip of a few months very soon. Gotta get everything working & updated you know. Anyways the computer rebooted, rebooted etc. Strornvme Failed. I tried everything. Going thru all the steps and then some. End result I do a dir on the drive, No Files Listed, nadda, zip. Just nothing there. I take out the SSD and put it into one of those thingee's where you can plug it into another computer, it comes up as F: drive, I see all the files are there. Don't dare to try anything to this drive at this point with this computer because it is beyond my know-how as to what to manipulate on the drive to fix it. Anyhow, stuck it back in the laptop. But when I do the diskpart, list disk, only Disk 1 which is 19gb-0-free & nothing for Dyn & GPT. However when entering sel disk 0, there it is 1825gb status , healthy. i got up to the part where your going to delete the BCD. I switch to drive C & do a DIR, Volume in drive C is OS, and the serial number. Directory of C:\ File Not Found.
