maybe obvious to some, but i actually had to restart my ps5 with the yeti plugged in for this to work. worth noting that it’s quite an old Yeti, the silvery ones from the 2010s

The way I do it and have done it for years is connect the headset first (give you a pop up to connect) then connect the yeti (another pop up to connect will show, and it just works headset audio with blue yeti output

my blue yeti sounds really bad on the ps5 :/ it sounds like the gain is up but i turned that down on the mic and the settings all the way.. i tried using a different cord.. i may just have to get a new mic

I have a question. I have the astros a40 with the mixamp, and on ps5 i have to use the astro hdmi adapter. But my issue is that when i plugged in the usb microphone, all the audio goes on mute and i basically dont hear anything, games sound and party chat. But the mic works. Any tips?

An easier way for wired headphones to not automatically switch with the Blue Yeti would be to plug the wired headphones into the audio jack at the bottom of the Blue Yeti itself. You also have the added bonus of the volume controls and it's pretty much an amp/DAC too!

That works too, but I found that my sound wasn't as loud, for whatever reason?
I don't believe the 3D sound works if you connect your headset to the mic, so that might be the possible reason why?
@@crizzonet That's really strange as I can sufficiently use Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro 80ohms at about 80% volume on the Blue Yeti itself and full volume on the PS5 and I consider it loud.
From what I understand USB audio devices like a headset can use the 3D audio. As when the Blue Yeti is set up to use both input and output it's acting like a usb headset for example.
I can use the 3D audio perfectly fine if that's any comfort for the idea.
Might just be my headset then? Mine is loud, it just doesn't seem as loud, especially in games like CoD, to me it seems like I don't get the same footstep audio as I do when connected to the PS5 directly. Then again, using the PS Gold headset sounds better to my ears more so than the Razer headset I also use sometimes.
I am hoping I can find the Pulse 3D headset in stock, not that they're top of the line or anything, I just have always liked using the stock PS headsets; Platinum or Gold with my PS.
@@crizzonet I think audio is such a subjective thing anyway, my loud could be your quiet, my choice of headphones might not be your favourite sound signature for example lol.
I'm no audiophile but with my setup the 3D audio is impressive and it's subtle enough where it doesn't seem artificial either unlike some 7.1 surround sound headphones I've used in the past.
You'd do well with the Sony's, they make some great audio equipment. Whatever works for you my guy go for. I've always found it interesting how the same setups vary from person to person though. 🤣

Do I need to have a mic to be heard on stream because so far on my ps5 I can hear my party members and they can hear me, but My viewers on twitch can’t hear my audio only the audio of those in my chat? Is it because I’m using the headset mic? Would buying a usb mic help this or just waste more money
are you using an Elgato, or are you streaming from the PS5? The Elgato doesn't work with wireless headset I don't think, you might need to download Sound Capture if so. If you're using the built-in streaming on the PS5, check your streaming settings and make sure you're sharing audio.

when you connect your controller with the 3.5 mm jack into your headset do you also connect the usb receiver at the same time for the headset? i also have the setting turned off but it still isnt working
I have been having mixed results. I have to keep unplugging and plugging back in several times for it to work properly. Not sure if Sony changed something in the update. I have no idea why they don't separate the 2, and give the microphone a do not change automatically option as well?!

Yeah, same here. It still works for me, but I have to fiddle with it. I tried a different mic that doesn’t have a headphone jack, and it does it also, which makes no sense.

the Pattern knob, set it to the second from right. It will make it so it is only forward facing, and should only pick up sound right in front of the mic. It is the cardioid setting.
My blue yeti sounds terrible when I use it on my ps5 a bunch of echo. Do you think the mic is broken?
Change it to Cardioid, so it only picks up noises directly in front of the mic. Also, you want it close to your mouth when using it.

Not unless you have it on something other than cardioid mode, it will only pick up noise directly in front of it for the most part.

Yes. It sounds good both for recording videos and for using it for a microphone for either team chat or streaming!

Ok, so, I have a Blue Yeti, but its a USB mic, that plugs into my ps5 from the front, unable to plug into jack on controller, it worked perfectly fine on ps4, would just have the input on my mic, and my output on AV Amplifier, if I do that on my PS5, it doesn't work anymore. Please help me!

I connect my Blue Yeti, selecting it as default microphone, change the audio output. I use 3.5 mm headphones on Dual Sense, but i don't hear the audio of my videogames. How can it be?

sometimes it changes the default audio back to the Blue Yeti. Not sure why? You have to keep changing it until it doesn't do that. The PS5 isn't very friendly with this, for whatever reason Sony forces it to change. it didn't do this when the PS5 launched, only started doing it after one of the system updates!
Question, every time I restart or put PS5 in rest mode it reverts back to everything going to the yeti and I have to unplug the mic and plug back in to get it to work through the headset and mic. What am I doing wrong?
Nothing, it is just the crappy way the PS5 software handles it. I have the same issue. Quite annoying tbh.

Or do you recommend plugging it into OBS instead, or are both options viable? I'm trying to get a feel for how to record HQ videos with my cap card, with HQ audio without running into headache of not having a viable option to talk to my friends as I record or even the issue of two streams of my audio being recorded separately from my Blu Yeti and my psn mic and having no way to edit it cuz I gotta pick up all the game chat audio from my friends. I kinda figure if the cap card picks up all streams of audio directly from the PS5 it would be less of a hassle but I'm not a genius when it comes to tech so I figure I'd ask for advice. Any feedback would be much appreciated bro!!
Yes. If you don’t want it, create a second PS account, then start a private chat with 2nd account. That’s what I do. Then it will only pick game audio.

Maybe, try both ways to see what you like best. I just use the built-in stream options on the PS5, but, I do have an Elgato but I rarely use it.

@crizzonet yes this is my setting also am putting gain to the lowest but still its picking every noise. some people says that its because ps5 don't support noise cancelation is that true?
It supports it with the Pulse headset and the Sony H9 headset microphone. It could be true for the Yeti , maybe a lack of software support for it? I haven't really noticed an issue with it personally.
PS; I currently am using the Corsair HS80 headset. It has probably the best microphone on any headset I have ever used. It sounds every bit as good as the Yeti. I have the wired one, not sure about the wireless version. It is $70 or so on Amazon; amzn.to/45HvCQP

sometimes you have to try it a few times to get it to work, I don't know what Sony changed with updates since I recorded this, but even I have to mess with it for a minute or two for it connect without disconnecting my headset.
As others have said, you can connect a headset to the bottom of the Yeti, that works 100% of the time! But, you can hear yourself when you do that.

You can buy a 3.5mm to USB adapter on Amazon for cheap, around $7 or so: amzn.to/3v2KkQ0
You need to use the USB for audio. If you use the bottom port on the mic, you're always going to hear yourself, no way to disable that.

No. Just changed the mode so it only picks up your voice and not the TV/Monitor sound

It for the life of me wont work with the Artics 7x
I use the Sony Pulse 3D headset, although I have a pair of Razer Kraken Ultimates and it works with those.
But it doesn’t work with TV output device, becouse echoing like hell. PS4 camera was perfect, You can use it like mic and You can have sound from TV and no echo present.
So PS5 totally killed this option for playing without any headset and their controler is ridicilous for pro playing games like Apex, COD(playing with Nacon Revolution Pro - need extra buttons)
So for me it’s big step back.
You can still use your controller with CoD and Apex, just install the PS4 version of the game instead of the PS5 version. I use a Astro C40 with Cold War because I launch the PS4 version. You can have both versions installed if you have the storage space.
When I play Zombies I use the PS5 version, when I play MP, I use the PS4 version. Not ideal, but it does work!
I connected my blue yeti and it sounds horrible. Literally sounds bass boosted and will just shatter my ears
*Just plug the 3.5mm cable straight to the Blue Yeti.* Seems to work better! You can adjust volume straight from the yeti, and you can hear hear yourself.

It does work, it just just finicky, you have to keep unplugging and plugging the mic in sometimes. I don't know what Sony changed as it wasn't doing this at first for me. I think the mic having the aux plug for headset is the reason, I have another mic that is just a mic, and it doesn't switch.

I mostly use a wired headset, and it happens sometimes with that as well.

Im finding when i plug my Yeti into my PS5 its constantly disconnecting and reconnecting? Has anyone else had this issue?
Unplug the microphone and the headset from the controller. Plug in mic, then headset. It happens to sometimes, when it does I just unplug both then plug back in.
@@crizzonet I actually figured it out last night. because of where my mic is mounted i have to use a USB extension for it to reach where the console sits. When i disconnected this and plugged the mic straight in, it worked perfectly. The PS5 USBs must be a bit more sensitive to the drop in voltage caused by the longer run maybe? I never had that issue on my PS4 pro using the same setup
What if the console doesn’t even recognize the microphone? I tried and my ps5 doesn’t even recognize the microphone as being a usb microphone

I am not sure then?! Try going into accessories in Settings on your PS5 with it plugged in and see if it shows up, you should see it when it is connected. Might be a sound/audio setting as well that needs to be changed?
