I had a similar issue until i realized to just plug your headphones in your monitor/tv. If you wanna talk to friends use one of those string mics and plug it into your controller.

Click on the Cog next to your Elgato in the Audio Mixer window inside Obs Studio and click on "Advanced Audio Properties". Under the "Audio Monitoring" section select "Monitor and Output" on the Capture Card you just added.

To get the PS5 sound to work you will MOST LIKELY need to hook up your headphones to the monitor/tv that you are playing it from. It was the same for the PS4, at least in my situation. If you plug your headphones into your controller your viewers wont be able to hear the audio of either your PC or your PS5 (can't remember which one). I know, it's a pain. Not sure if there is any hardware that could link the 2 audios up and put them in the same mix (both audio coming through at the same time).
I ended buying an hdmi adapter i can hear the ps5 audio and pc audio perfect thank u guys anyways!

I can’t get the audio to work when I use a headset . It’s so annoying . Even if I use an audio splitter and plug it into the elgato and my PS5 controller it still won’t work . Can’t hear the gameplay or game chat .

For me I have everything set up but no audio of the game pops out like when i connect my headset to my controller, obs stops capturing audio from the ps5 so on the recordings you can only hear me but not the audio from the ps5

How are you doing your pc audio and ps5 audio simultaneously since the ps5 does not have digital optical audio?

What I ended up doing was buying a pair of headphones that plugged into the controller and running the elgato chat link to the capture card. Then to get the pc audio to my headphones and on stream, the headphones have another jack that I ran to my pc.
OBS ---->Sources------>Video Capture Device (find your elgato)-------->Scroll down to Audio output Mode and make sure it's selected to "CAPTURE AUDIO ONLY".
Elgato HD60s+ sound delay Fix for PS5:
Right click your speaker icon on your desktop (lower right corner) ------> select Open Volume Mixer
Click System Sound Icon
Under "Recording Tab" look for "Digital Audio Interface" click properties
Under "Listen Tab" MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE BOX "LISTEN TO THIS DEVICE"
Open OBS go to "Sources" window go to "Video Capture Device" choose your Elgato and open properties
Scroll down in ELGATO properties and make sure your AUDIO OUTPUT MODE is set to CAPTURE AUDIO ONLY
Your audio will be in perfect sync!!!! and no delay

Dam thank you man this helped me out a lot I have the ps5 im going to shop for a pc and a captcha card today I like ur dual monitor setup I’m going to try and find one today since I’m playing on my ps5 mostly and just using the desktop to stream can I get away with a reasonable dell tower with 8gb of ram I’m looking to get a starter pc maybe upgrade eventually

Great video. When we set up my Son's PS5 to OBS ( with capture card ) the gaming records ok but there's no audio either from his gaming headset mic or the audio of the game. Ideally, I'd like him to record his commentary on a separate mic. Any suggestions? Thanks
uhhhh, how am i supposed to hear the game when only stream can hear the game, the ps5 has no optical cable for that to happen

This is the easiest tutorial to follow thanks. When I stream to Twitch from my PS5 my audio doesn’t come through the stream but you can hear my teams audio. I’ve checked all the broadcast settings and it still isn’t working. Is the only was to stream my audio through a capture card and PC?
