Is that true that the producer does the decisions where the songs should be in order while the mastering engineer does the actual editing and sequencing or is it both Nathan?
Reading the chapters of a novel/book in the wrong order would be a strange thing to do, but is the running order of an album still important now that you can easily create your own playlists?
GREAT insight Luke. I believe the running order of an album is still important and I imagine artists are still intentional with it. I'm also sure they recognize that people will still pick out their favorites, as they always have. Even before streaming services, audiences have been "play-listing" their favorites. I remember making mash up CD's with my favorite songs from all my favorite artists... now it's just more convenient with the digital streaming services!
