This fight highlights how smart Bruce Wayne truly is. Bruce planning every single point in the fight from beginning to end is nothing short of strategic genius. Take the two traps in the beginning for example. Bruce knew they wouldn’t hurt Superman. They were just there to give Clark a confidence boost and allow him to believe he had the upper hand. To believe he was dictating where the fight went. Then the fight concludes with them ending up where Bruce planted the spear just as he planned.

I read somewhere Feige and the Russo Bros actually made Civil War after hearing about WB dropping BvS. They originally were planning a completely different storyline for Cap 3. What this says to me is the competition Warner v. Marvel forced both studios to create better films.

@@joeg6478that’s true. Cap 3 was originally announced as Captain America: Serpent Society which would have concluded all of the HYDRA stuff from Phase 1 and 2. Then Man of Steel 2 was announced to be Batman V Superman and Serpent Society was changed to Civil War a few months later
Nope civil war has it awesome moments especially ironman vs captain america and it came with a right story direction besides in BVS the Martha call was huge disappointment to this fight and compare to this civil war is the best

That scene has been made fun of a lot but I always liked it a lot. Because that's the moment Batman realizes that Superman is just a guy with a mom. And that if he kills him, a mother loses her son, just like he himself lost his own mother (who was also named Martha).

Well the other thing is, if someone lost a mother in a tragic way, just hearing her name can break them. Those who were making fun of that scene may not really understand the emotional damage he had because of the loss of his parents.

The issue isn’t Batman’s realization. It’s Clark calling his mother by her first name with zero context behind it or reason to call her that. It comes across as exceedingly forced and awkward in dialogue.

Batman V Superman is an absolute masterpiece. I only hope we as fans can see the rest of Zack Snyder's film plans. And... still discussed to this day, unlike other CBM films - which means a lot.
I saw this movie as a 10 year old in theaters. It was the first time I ever saw someone in emotional pain. People criticize the end of this scene because they are not the ones that are traumatized. He spared Superman because he would not wish that kind of pain on anyone else. Batman only physically hurts people, never emotionally.

I also loved Clooney as Bruce and as Batman. He’s suave afff. However, I do wish they tried cloooney in a serious version at least once :/

Not all Batman fans. I mean, I like the action, but not much else about this movie. It seems there are different camps in Batman fandom. I'm in the Nolan camp myself, though I know that Snyder fans have their issues with Nolan, especially his fight scenes. I admit that Snyder's fights are easier to follow. But I prefer Nolan's characters/stories/writing. However, I admit that it's really cool to see a live action version of the coolest scene from Dark Knight Returns.

a lot of people joke about the martha thing but i think they miss the point. batman doesn't just completely change his mind because their moms have the same name, its just finally hearing superman care about his mother, him HAVING a mother and lois coming afraid to lose him have just made batman actually stop and realise superman IS a man, he has a family and is someone's child. He's angry that just as violence took his parents, he's about to take the son away from a mother. this is really the point he begins to redeem himself, which is why we don't see any killing afterwards and he returns to the light as an honourable hero again

I see that we are supposed to believe that Superman, having overcome the effects of one kryptonite smoke grenade, charged straight ahead into a second kryptonite smoke grenade. He is literally faster than a speeding bullet. He would be able to to dodge any bullets or grenades fired in his direction. He could easily circle around behind back Batman and take off Batman’s head, Before Batman could even react. Even in the army, you are taught to approach the enemy in a zigzag direction. The worst possible strategy is to charge straight at the enemy. He also had every opportunity to take Batman high into the air and then drop him. No way Superman would lose that fight.
I dont think the kryptonite's effect have fully dissapeared .
He was able to fly before , and bats was able to move him to the wall
Besides , supes doesnt seem to have a lot knowledge in military combat or martial arts
He is mosty unstoppable due to his inhuman kryptonian body
Without the kryptonian strenght and durability , batman whould probably destroy him without armor or gadgets

Did anyone see how spectacular of a left hook batman threw to knock superman out @ 3:27. The imagery itself is something to be posterized. I can really see in this movie that the directors emphasize the hits, punches, kicks, throw downs. Its like the sound and imagery of each blow is emphasized. Like little quakes each hit.
