The thing I like about this is that the thugs are actually fucking smart. They grab Batman's cape, and try and shoot him while his back is turned and actually get some good shots in. They play dirty which makes them so much more realistic. But Batman actually uses his skill/gadgets and displays exactly why he is considered the nightmare he is. When he use this weapon at the end it was a reference to Frank Miller's Batman The Dark Knight Returns when he saved a child by shooting a Mutant. And Ben Affleck will be back as Batman in the Flash movie, one last time apparently.
As much as i love Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, this action scene alone was better than what Nolan did in all 3 films. Snyder gained my respect for not only having a dope fight scene, but bringing the Batman we all know and love onto the big screen, with the ninja tactics, gadgets, tech, and combat skills. Snyder just set the standard for Batman action scenes, now Matt Reeves has to top this lol. I cant wait to see Reeves vision, with hopefully well choreographed fight scenes.

Batman is eternally and tragically trying to save his parents’ lives. Every night. This is the root and essence of Batman: he wants to save Martha, but never could… until this night, when Superman and Lois remind him of his humanity - long gone and absent from this version of Bruce Wayne having lost everything except for Alfred. It’s a metaphor; a substitute to be sure. But beginning with the moment when Bruce vows to Superman that “Martha won’t die tonight,” Batman was born anew - given a second chance to right his recent wrongs and become something he had never been before. This scene and film, man… underrated genius.
Except, he definitel unalived a lot of them - multiple people got bulletholes, 2 guys with the grenade, crate splash on the wall, guy going inside the wall, propane tank explosions... they are not walking those off
Something I really like about the fight is how fucking competent the mercenaries are in it. They run out of bullets, inmendiately pull out knives. They attack as a team. Not one on one as in many movies. They even take advantage of batman blind spots.
What? Just look at 1:15 as a sample: one mercenary misses 6 bullets, then one mercenary shoots open the door, stands there for a few seconds with a shotgun in his hands, not even aiming at Batman and then just dramatically reveals his grenade that he didn't even bother to throw. This scene is just trashy cinema.
@@emerther5843 Maybe the dude was scared that batman dropped like 5 or 7 of his teammates, but I kinda agree at the shotgun part. That dude could've liked rushed at him and shoot the darn gun
@@emerther5843 probably has happened before- some guy shooting him with a shotgun or any other type of weapon. Guy pulled out a grenade cause he didn’t want to risk Batman surviving.
@sashashe I was actually Really Surprised seeing that in Theaters since the villains and their goons never go for the Head. It gave me a "Holy Sh**!!!! They actually shot his head!" 😳🤯
This scene explains well why Batman is feared. It actually showcases how he is menacing. Imagine telling someone one dude in a bat costume did this to your whole crew lol
To make things even more scary about this Batman is that his suit is more bulky and padded but he was still able to move faster then them just imagine if bats was wearing a smaller more tactical suit that allows full protection and full flexibility lol like the Arkham Knight suit
This is EXACTLY what a Batman fight scene should be. Not zoomed in so you cant see shit. Just hard hitting wide angle filth. Batman using his gadgets and surroundings to win the fight. Brilliant!!!!!
@@AlexCabreraM yea and you can see they started to ditch that method and used the wide angle shot in the later movies, but sadly the choreo was still pretty choppy at times and we can see them clearly this time

One of the most accurate fight scenes of any comic book movie in existence. Furthermore, this is the best rendition of Batman so far in film. Great job!

This scene is one of the most pointless scenes in a Batman movie I have ever witnessed.. Batman is using guns to shoot and KILL people… his #1 rule and a motto he lives by is “Vengeance by justice” or to never kill another human being.. he kills at least half a dozen guys in this scene alone.. like the guy who is holding Martha Kent hostage with the flame thrower.. Batman whilst using a gunmans centrifugal force to aim his own gun shot and killed the the hostage taker resulting in a massive napalm explosion of fire.. Batman saved Superman’s mom by shielding her with his cape from the heat of the blast.. never have I seen Batman in any movie kill someone to achieve his goal.. this movie wasn’t all bad but this fight scene was WAYYYYY overrated.. one of the dumbest scenes I have ever seen in a superhero movie whether it was DC or Marvel
Of all the batman movies this has to be the best live action fight that has ever been made. Truly captures the brutality and the High IQ tactics of the mastermind he is.
True.. I was so disappointed by The Batman and how it basically felt like a continuation of Nolan.. his fights were okay in The Batman - but he’s like a slightly more agile version of Bale.
Can we just appreciate that the henchman actually used Batman’s cape to throw him off balance. There’s a reason why Edna said “NO CAPES!!!” This is one of those reasons
Noticed it also. These goons were actually smart. Attacking together, trying to shoot in the head at close range when the armor stopped their bullets, using the cape to control Bats. These guys will waylay any half-ass superhero
At the very least, Batman's cape actually has a damn use. (At least in other media.) It's flame retardant and allows him to glide. It can also be used as a sort of stunning device as seen in the Arkham games. Superman's cape may be indestructible, but it does jack shit otherwise. It's especially useless when Superman himself is basically indestructible. (Not including things like kryptonite and stronger entities like Doomsday.)
@@MeowHype I always thought the cape was to disorient armed attackers and attract fire to his cape, making it difficult for attackers to tell where Batman himself actually is.

@@grimsquad273 I'd say The Batman is the best in overall aspect, you have the detective stuff going on, and the noir atmosphere really captures the feel of Gotham even in the 21st century that makes the Nolanverse Gotham pales in comparison (still a great trilogy btw). Don't get me wrong, The Batman fights are pretty solid but Battinson is only supposedly in his 2nd year so he still gets his ass kicked fairly a lot too. With that in mind i'd like to see more a more matured Battinson doing action scenes (like this clip) in the sequel.
Pretty sure the first fight would've gone somewhat like this:- *Bane*:- Not as serious as yours I fea- *Batman* Proceeds to break Bane's mask , his arms and ultimately his back

I appriciate the fact that Ben Affleck was strong enough to play Batman while he was facing alcohol addiction, rehab, and his divorce. Gotta put a lot of respect for the man himself

He wanted to play Batman just for his kids, he never said he always wanted to play Batman because he's passionate about it, he played Batman just for his kids to watch their dad playing Batman on screen. Without his kids, he wouldn't have played Batman
Something that I noticed is that Batman fights almost completely in silence; he doesn’t grunt with exertion, doesn’t breathe heavy or cry out when hit, except for when he gets shot in the back of the head and stabbed in the shoulder. Apart from that, not a single verbal sound and I love it
Movies use grunts and stuff like that for vocal references for attacks. This is designed to showcase Batman coming and methodically eliminating a bunch of people so they really don't use such stuff. Ever watched Spartacus? They just stylistically tried to showcase pure rage and masculinity in their heros with yells with every big move this is the direct opposite
I don't know if this is too late to reply. But the Alfleck's Batman is supposed to be based on The Dark Knight Returns - with old Batman was at 60 years old. There is one scene in the movie (don't remember if that was in Part 2 or 1), one of the thugs said that "he never makes a sound" (or something alike)... to indicated how old Batman was.
People forget Batman's combat journey began training as a ninja. They're trained to do everything making as little noise as possible. Silence is a ninjas greatest weapon
My take on this personally is, that this Batman lives up to the aged Batman in the Dark Knight Returns comic/movie, where he fights against the Mutant Leader in a mudpit... It's not a battle, or a fight, to Batman. It's an operating theatre, the entire warehouse, and the criminals are there to be surgically taken apart and put out of commission by his superior combat prowess and equipment.
Right? They actually strategized and tried to work together instead of trying to fight Batman one at a time Even then, it wasn’t enough...Batfleck is just too good
I like the fact that the fight scene wasn't entirely batman destroying everybody, him getting pulled and stabbed at some point shows his human element as a hero and that is a very good aspect shown in this scene
He also gets ganged up on. The thugs aren’t waiting their turn to get beat up, he tries to spread them around but they always seem to try to find someone and take him at once. That’s rare to see in action films, but here, two, four or more guys go at him at once.
Admittedly that only serves to make him more intimidating. "We shot him, stabbed, ganged up on him, tried to blow him up, and he just kept coming!!" Someone spreads that around a prison and those thugs are gonna quake in their boots at the first site of that cowl.

ComicBookCast2 would criticize you for saying that. In any case, it did not work out with Affleck and most people did not like that his Batman is too cruel and murderous and so easily fell for Luthor's provocations without suspecting anything. @@perrybb2 I’m curious on why people just can’t understand this version of Batman. It’s so obvious. As a kid reading comics I always wondered why Batman hasn’t killed, People like joker or penguin. I understood his code, but I still couldn’t fully agree. Considering the amount of damage they caused, the code was an misguided Illusion. Joker kills children and Females everyday, when that could be stopped if Batman just kill. It’s kinda of hard to look at Batman as a Hero, when he’s has the opportunity to kill without anyone noticing. Why let Serial killers live, to kill innocents everyday? Yet, go out every night, just to put them away and give them the opportunity to do it again months later? This Batman, understood and accepted that the code was an illusion. After playing cops and robbers with psychopath serial killers for 20 years, it becomes mind boggling. Who in their right mind, will lock up joker for 20 plus years?? While in that time span, he hade to kilt thousands upon thousands of innocents. You just have to just look at it at a realistic point of view. This Batman understands the only way to actually be a hero and change Gotham, is to be a villain in your own right.
@@Anthony-yd6ir It's not that I don't like the change, I just felt it should have been fleshed out more. After a decade of the Dark Knight trilogy bashing it into our brains that Batman doesn't kill, it's extremely jarring to see a blatant contradiction to his supposed "#1 rule" of not killing.
What I realized in this scene after watching The Batman(2022), is that Batfleck's version is the mythic and monstrous Batman that's become synonymous to fear for every criminal out there. Rob Pattinson's is a great iteration as a realistic, young and sloppy yet rageful Batman, but goddamn Batfleck's version is another level of badass and terrifying.

As big as my problems with him using machine guns and all that are and I understand peoples dislike towards that. I respect the hell out of Snyder for trying a different approach to Batman, I am absolutely gutted we won't see more of Afflecks Portrayal.

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are legendary, and their respectively endings were epic, being the second one the best of the trilogy.

It's 2024 no batman has peaked this yet
It's impressive that some of the goons actually tried to fight smart.
Right? They actually strategized and tried to work together instead of trying to fight Batman one at a time
Even then, it wasn’t enough...Batfleck is just too good
That's how you choreograph a good realistic single-vs-group fight scenes.
Yeah, but Batman is too badass for them
One of them even shoot him to the head.
This is easily the best live action Batman fight scene ever put to film

I like the fact that the fight scene wasn't entirely batman destroying everybody, him getting pulled and stabbed at some point shows his human element as a hero and that is a very good aspect shown in this scene
David Empuerto that’s great mate
He also gets ganged up on. The thugs aren’t waiting their turn to get beat up, he tries to spread them around but they always seem to try to find someone and take him at once. That’s rare to see in action films, but here, two, four or more guys go at him at once.
Alexander Angelus big facts thats what makes this scene even better. this niggas a brute, and its kash how they dont wait. Its type realistic
Admittedly that only serves to make him more intimidating.
"We shot him, stabbed, ganged up on him, tried to blow him up, and he just kept coming!!"
Someone spreads that around a prison and those thugs are gonna quake in their boots at the first site of that cowl.

It's quite insane.
ComicBookCast2 would criticize you for saying that.
In any case, it did not work out with Affleck and most people did not like that his Batman is too cruel and murderous and so easily fell for Luthor's provocations without suspecting anything.
And Pattinson, well, he is at least the first film incarnation that did not kill anyone.

I'm pretty sure Batman killed the guy he had pinned to the wall with a knife since it cutaway after his scream. That guy was clearly subdued and even seemed to be gesturing for mercy so I'm curious as to what made this Batman into someone who sees no problem with wantonly executing criminals. Maybe he was just pissed and killed him as revenge for stabbing him
@@perrybb2 I’m curious on why people just can’t understand this version of Batman.

Leave it to Snyder and the passion and care he puts into his craft. This man is an artist when it comes to cinematography.
For Batman movies.
Indeed 👍🏿💯💯💯💯
What I realized in this scene after watching The Batman(2022), is that Batfleck's version is the mythic and monstrous Batman that's become synonymous to fear for every criminal out there. Rob Pattinson's is a great iteration as a realistic, young and sloppy yet rageful Batman, but goddamn Batfleck's version is another level of badass and terrifying.
agreed, the scene in bvs where he saves the women from some thugs and they refer to him as 'the demon who saved us' was brilliant. and how the cop almost kills his colleague in fear after coming face to face with batman, simply lovely.
I love that this Batman's humongous and comic accurate figure already makes him 70% more terrifying.
Hopefully Pattinson's Batman will be an experienced Batman in future movies.

Not only that, but they did a great job showing Batman isn't in top shape in this fight because he doesn't just take everyone out, he actually take a few hits and even gets stabbed. They do a much better job showing Batman is human, but still make him seem like an unkillable monster to the bad guys when they keep shooting him and the bullets don't pierce his suit.
