Agreed. Hate those combo breakers.
Lol Arkham reference I see...
That’s why he got him the worst cuz he broke that combo 😂
Haha two things you never do: Throw off the Emperors groove and disrupt Batmans combo
it was actually the one who shot him in the head.
This is one of the rarer fight scenes in action movies where the thugs actually try to attack together and not just one by one. Love that.
This scene has such good choreography and conveys Batman's brutality and fighting prowess
Bales batman just beats up criminals waiting in line
This is by far one the best Batman fight scenes period.
And what about the guy at 1:22 that decided to throw grenade in the room full of his mates despite he could have shot Batman in the back?
@@ajax542 And then put this into perspective - Batman shows up, you're working for a criminal boss, or a boss in some sort of way - you kill Batman when he shows up, that's your objective. Doesn't matter who you kill in the process in terms of criminal bosses minions in gotham etc. You kill the bat, you'll rise in ranks like crazy. Its the same reason why every single person who wants to kill Batman has constant thugs that are never ending. It isn't because it was stupid with the grenade, he expected to throw it unexpectedly and then batman kicked a body at his ass. End of story.
Edric Yeo, I agree, but Bales Batman tells more of an emotional driven story rather than an action Batman. I really wish Warner had put out Snyder’s full 3 hour movie. Would’ve made everything so much more impactful.
It’s a tradition to watch this scene once in a while

Yes me too!!!!
Props to that one mook who actually tried shooting Batman in the head when his back was turned. Didn't work, but it was such a smart move.
Facts, its rare for thugs to actually do that in other superhero movies.
ikr my man could've killed at least 2 versions of batman with this move
Yep. Had he aimed for the mouth, perhaps he would have killed Batman.
@@firestar4407 It would have been a weird angle to shoot him the mouth in this scenario. you would basically have to crouch down beside him and angle the gun upwards
Also the henchmen who grabbed Batman's cape. Actually exploiting a weakness.
I like this aggressive side of him you can tell that he was getting beyond sick and tired of fighting crime
Vincent Wilson exactly. It was totally badass seeing him kick some ass. I was surprised at theatres when I saw it and I loved it. Shows how much this Batman has gone through fighting criminals and is totally sick of it
And a robin died most likely Jason Todd
You don't get it. Batman isn't supposed to kill anyone, and it's not because he's a boy scout type of guy, but because HE'S ALWAYS THE MOST FUCKED UP PERSON IN DC UNIVERSE, and the only thing that prevents him from falling into complete madness and chaos is his moral code.
TheAnhphuong92
You do realize there are many versions of Batman, right?
Batman actually kills in the comics lol.
They based this Batman off of a Batman that kills.
In this universe, the Joker killed Robin, Batman lost his moral code because of it, and now fights criminals without any mercy. He doesn’t go for the kill, but if the criminals cannot take his punishments, he doesn’t bother to help them stay alive. Get what I mean?
@@msftvsn9349 you're right
The motivation of batman here is almost as if he was about to save his mother that he never saved when he was a kid. Perfectly shot
On GOD

This reminds me of the dark Knight returns
That's what I've tried to explain to people when I defend this Batman. The brutality on display looks like a man desperate to save a life. I get the arguments for the "Batman doesn't kill" crowd. But I was completely ok with how badass this scene played out, even with casualties.

Too bad Batman fought like a drunktard in TDKR, and suddenly throwed all his fighting experience and skills thru the window, of course cause that movie sucks and contradicts everything that was perfect in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
TDKR should have never existed just like Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines. Same type of third part crappiolla.
@@theboltthrower8661 lol no, tdkr is easily best of trilogy, batman arc is incredible, ras al ghul story is good, batman fights like amateur because his fight is realistic, affleck's is not, ending was legendary(especially cafe confrontation between Alfred and bruce), you don't have good taste about movies, also batman has same fighting ability at Dark Knight and Dark Knight rises, but you only criticise tdkr batman fighting style, you just contradict yourself, tdk is only about joker, nothing more, batman was secondary character, there is no interesting plot except joker. The main villain is a SIMP and dies as a SIMP cause the real main villain is a bitter woman on her period, OMFG!!!
And if Nolan was gonna introduce Robin anyways, why didn´t he just name him Dick Grayson from the beginning? Oh, of course, for the sake of that stupid pseudo- Plot Twist of John Blake being actually Robin...
Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are legendary, and their respectively endings were epic, being the second one the best of the trilogy. Rises was just Nolan doing a trash film with warner pointing a gun on his head, that´s why that movie sucked so bad, so I guess if you think that trash is the best Batman movie in Nolan´s trilogy then I´m sure you´re the one who needs to get a better taste in movies.

Something I really like about the fight is how fucking competent the mercenaries are in it.
They run out of bullets, inmendiately pull out knives.
They attack as a team. Not one on one as in many movies.
They even take advantage of batman blind spots.
Not to mention they also went for the head
@@hamzamalik7851 And they used his cape to yank him down
What? Just look at 1:15 as a sample: one mercenary misses 6 bullets, then one mercenary shoots open the door, stands there for a few seconds with a shotgun in his hands, not even aiming at Batman and then just dramatically reveals his grenade that he didn't even bother to throw. This scene is just trashy cinema.
@@emerther5843 Maybe the dude was scared that batman dropped like 5 or 7 of his teammates, but I kinda agree at the shotgun part. That dude could've liked rushed at him and shoot the darn gun
@@emerther5843 probably has happened before- some guy shooting him with a shotgun or any other type of weapon. This Batman has been doing this for years and we can imagine criminals would know of “horror” stories of how ludicrously bulletproof his suit is, or in general about his agility and endurance. Guy pulled out a grenade cause he didn’t want to risk Batman surviving.
They actually tried to shoot him in the head! No one does that in superhero movies. I love it.

Batman is eternally and tragically trying to save his parents’ lives. Every night. This is the root and essence of Batman: he wants to save Martha, but never could… until this night, when Superman and Lois remind him of his humanity - long gone and absent from this version of Bruce Wayne having lost everything except for Alfred.
It’s a metaphor; a substitute to be sure. But beginning with the moment when Bruce vows to Superman that “Martha won’t die tonight,” Batman was born anew - given a second chance to right his recent wrongs and become something he had never been before.
This scene and film, man… underrated genius.
WHYD YOU SAY THAT NAME!!!

The thing I like about this is that the thugs are actually fucking smart. They grab Batman's cape, and try and shoot him while his back is turned and actually get some good shots in. They play dirty which makes them so much more realistic. But Batman actually uses his skill/gadgets and displays exactly why he is considered the nightmare he is. As big as my problems with him using machine guns and all that are and I understand peoples dislike towards that. I respect the hell out of Snyder for trying a different approach to Batman, I am absolutely gutted we won't see more of Afflecks Portrayal.
When he use this weapon at the end it was a reference to Frank Miller's Batman The Dark Knight Returns when he saved a child by shooting a Mutant. And Ben Affleck will be back as Batman in the Flash movie, one last time apparently.
As much as i love Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, this action scene alone was better than what Nolan did in all 3 films. Snyder gained my respect for not only having a dope fight scene, but bringing the Batman we all know and love onto the big screen, with the ninja tactics, gadgets, tech, and combat skills. Snyder just set the standard for Batman action scenes, now Matt Reeves has to top this lol. I cant wait to see Reeves vision, with hopefully well choreographed fight scenes.
No they aren’t smart. Martha should be torched the second the Russian headed Batman fucking things up. The guy firing from the whole Batman came from when he went to the ceiling in full view of everyone, the guy showing Batman the pin from the grenade he threw, never once aiming for his uncovered mouth, etc, the thugs are fucking morons

Something that I noticed is that Batman fights almost completely in silence; he doesn’t grunt with exertion, doesn’t breathe heavy or cry out when hit, except for when he gets shot in the back of the head and stabbed in the shoulder. Apart from that, not a single verbal sound and I love it
Movies use grunts and stuff like that for vocal references for attacks. This is designed to showcase Batman coming and methodically eliminating a bunch of people so they really don't use such stuff. Ever watched Spartacus? They just stylistically tried to showcase pure rage and masculinity in their heros with yells with every big move this is the direct opposite
@@subutaynoyan5372 I loved watching Spartacus. You've probably ruined any rewatches now though 🙄
I don't know if this is too late to reply. But the Alfleck's Batman is supposed to be based on The Dark Knight Returns - with old Batman was at 60 years old. There is one scene in the movie (don't remember if that was in Part 2 or 1), one of the thugs said that "he never makes a sound" (or something alike)... to indicated how old Batman was.
People forget Batman's combat journey began training as a ninja. They're trained to do everything making as little noise as possible. Silence is a ninjas greatest weapon
My take on this personally is, that this Batman lives up to the aged Batman in the Dark Knight Returns comic/movie, where he fights against the Mutant Leader in a mudpit... It's not a battle, or a fight, to Batman. It's an operating theatre, the entire warehouse, and the criminals are there to be surgically taken apart and put out of commission by his superior combat prowess and equipment.
Baleman gets stabbed: "Why? I trusted you"
Batfleck gets stabbed: "Ok...now I'm annoyed at you specifically"

Affleck’s Batman got stabbed in the shoulder.
One is far worse.

@@perrybb2 I’m curious on why people just can’t understand this version of Batman. It’s so obvious.
As a kid reading comics I always wondered why Batman hasn’t killed, People like joker or penguin. I understood his code, but I still couldn’t fully agree. Considering the amount of damage they caused, the code was an misguided Illusion. Joker kills children and Females everyday, when that could be stopped if Batman just kill. It’s kinda of hard to look at Batman as a Hero, when he’s has the opportunity to kill without anyone noticing. Why let Serial killers live, to kill innocents everyday? Yet, go out every night, just to put them away and give them the opportunity to do it again months later?
This Batman, understood and accepted that the code was an illusion. After playing cops and robbers with psychopath serial killers for 20 years, it becomes mind boggling. Who in their right mind, will lock up joker for 20 plus years?? While in that time span, he hade to kilt thousands upon thousands of innocents.
You just have to just look at it at a realistic point of view. This Batman understands the only way to actually be a hero and change Gotham, is to be a villain in your own right.
@@Anthony-yd6ir It's not that I don't like the change, I just felt it should have been fleshed out more. After a decade of the Dark Knight trilogy bashing it into our brains that Batman doesn't kill, it's extremely jarring to see a blatant contradiction to his supposed "#1 rule" of not killing.

The fact that 2:00 is the most replayed part of this video says everything to me. This is possibly the best single minute of Batman footage I've ever seen, because while we often associate Batman with his utility belt, he is by no means any less a hero or monster without it. This minute really effectively shows a Batman who trained with the League of Shadows, who outmatched even Bane in strength, who's fought criminals for decades now, and yet still makes very human mistakes, still bleeds just like any of the rest of them. The way he is able to maneuver through four guys in a single moment and methodically take down one at a time, using their own attacks against each other; the way he's able to be vulnerable, yet still always have some sort of move or tool at his disposal is just PEAK Batman.

Two things Zack Synder accomplished when taking on Superman & Batman. He gave us glorious fight scenes that are utterly satisfying to watch.
In MOS it is such a delight to see well crafted action sequences that are deft, thrilling, suspenseful. In BvS I’m filled with glee to finally witness a batman fight scene that is awesome. Batman fought like a pro-wrestler or Street brawler in every other incarnation (including Pattison’s batman) here Affleck plays batman like a motherfucking demon.
I love this fight scene because Batman is ruthless, merciless, robust, formidable and calculating. Everything Batman should be when in combat.
The only criticism I have of Nolan’s dark knight trilogy is how limp the fight choreography was. Some of the fight scenes lacked tight, authentic execution, this was made even more obvious when shot in IMAX.
Zack Synder on the other hand is a skilled technician when it comes to fight choreography and visually immersive action sequences. Therefore he made batman into a beast. Batman has to embody a supernatural demeanour in his resolve. It’s an act after all but he must be convincing in his theatrics and Synder captured this brilliantly. Finally a batman who’s actually lethal and kinda scary I love it.
