    Wow... Literally you did this job single handed and not a torque wrench nor sealant in sight. Amazing..

      @@autotech9043 HI. Is it necessary to set the phase regulators according to the marks or does it make no difference how it is installed?

    what I'm not understanding is it looks like it duesnt matter where the exhaust cam gear is turned? i see a slot on both and i see the intake ones at 12 o clock. is the other at 6 o clock? or does it not matter on ether cam how the sprocket assembly is turned on ether of the cams?

    • @autotech9043
      @autotech9043  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No the camshaft should set by a tool alignment

      I see the same thing, I can’t figure out what position to set the cam phasers. The top of the left sprocket or VVT phaser has a notch in it, the exhaust sprocket isn’t showing a notch. Which way should the phasers be installed when replacing them?

    It appears that lock bar is at a different position at the end than it was at the beginning of video.

    • @autotech9043
      @autotech9043  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No it should be straight for both camshaft

    Question: My intake cam is set flat for the cam locking tool, but I have to twist my exhaust cam a little bit clockwise to fit the tool in the rear slot. This opens up the exhaust valves slightly on cylinder #2, is this normal?? I have my old head and a rebuilt head, it’s the same.
    Also, since we took the cam phasers off, how do we set them? I can’t see any marks showing which position they should be in. Mine have numbers 1 and 2 showing on the face, I think 1 is for the intake side…?

      Hi, sorry for delay, you need just put the tool in faser and tool from the back of camshaft, and also another tool goes to the crankshaft.

      You haven't answered his question he asked if he can move the cams round as they in wrong position.
      If the tool goes in the crank but the cams don't line up how do you move them around without moving the crank pin

    • @ZhmiKnopa
      @ZhmiKnopa 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Turns out the exhaust valves should be open on cylinder two when you set the cam locks

    • @paulMason-zm4kr
      @paulMason-zm4kr 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ZhmiKnopa my cam shafts dont line up where there meant to be they are 2 far round when the crank is luned up and tdc is not correct with cams
      Can I lock the crank then undo the phaser bolts and twist the cam back round to position for the plate
      Without removing chain then set timing up

    I got my cams locked in place. I’m trying to put that camshaft bolt in to lock the camshaft in place and it won’t go in. I got piston 1 TDC and still won’t go. Do I need to have that in to tighten down my cams?

    • @autotech9043
      @autotech9043  ปีที่แล้ว

      You need first piston up on and install tool in the back of camshaft, and there’s another tool to be installed in front faser

    What is the point of the tool.to hold cam gear? It only holds one and has no specific spot

    • @autotech9043
      @autotech9043  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes there’s a tool to hold the gear , I showed it in the video, make sure don’t open the gear you don’t have too

    • @autotech9043
      @autotech9043  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you didn’t not open the gear you don’t need the tool for cam gear . Just the one goes for back of the cam shaft .
