Yep. I've done both actually. I used to be really quiet but now I'm more talkative. In fact, what you said makes sense because it's something I've experienced myself. Every single thing he said what on point.
I tend to have perfected this in my past too. I just decided that I wasn't going to date throughout highschool at all. Made it feel easier that I was so mute around most of my crushes. It became an achievement toward a specificied goal.
I ended up marrying my crush, who is also an introvert. My coworker at the time actually ended up telling him that I liked him, which is a good thing because he had zero idea that I was throwing all these subtle, introverted hints at him 😂 we owe our whole relationship to her extrovertedness 👏
BAHAHAHA!!!! Like the introvert I dated for 8 months recently and he still barely spoke a word, although we had amazing sexual chemistry, but he would still sweat and be visibly nervous around me. I avoid eye contact, otherwise I feel that my crush would read my soul 😅😅😅 So I usually look when no one is looking like a ninja... Collecting data in the shadows.
I do that as well. I feel like if I look at him too much, people will notice and tease me about it. The fact is that I want to look at him SO MUCH but I have to hold myself back.
The worst thing about crushes is that they have full control over you. One compliment can make your day the best of your life, sure, but it can easily get ruined if they said the opposite, even as a joke. They don’t even KNOW they have that kind of power.
Geez I remember this one time when my crush told me I was good (we did a performance for school project) and it never left my mind for about 2 months or so. Crazy stuff.

As a SOCIAL introvert, I can say that I... 1.) Smile more, but try to cover it up 2.) Glance at them a LOT but get embarrassed when they look back at me. 3.) Laugh wayyyyyy more, like to the point where it's almost obnoxious. 4.) Doubt myself somehow even MORE 5.) Sit closer to them 6) Talk way more and share random stuff about me that was probably never needed 7.) Get really distracted, almost forgetting where I am 8.) All of my nervous habits come to the front where I'm suddenly sweating, rubbing my hands together, playing with my hair.. (My ADHD doesn't help with this either :'>) 9.) I will remember EVERYTHING about them and bring up every inside joke that ever existed between us in the history of ever 10.) Somehow, with all of that going on, also try to act like they annoy me when really they're the only person I want to be with in that moment If any of your friends that are generally quiet around you do this stuff, then maybe... ;))

I did that once when I was unaware I was in the wrong class. Until some guy looked directly at me and told me. Turns out they were all laughing at me the whole time, but I laughed it off 😅
The problem with us introverts like-liking someone is that we don't communicate and find out the facts but, instead, fill in our knowledge gaps with fantasy, and then get disappointed and upset when the person is different to our imagined perception. It's a drama that can repeat itself for a whole lifetime.
Ha! I realized I did this to my crush like a week ago in class when the teacher told a joke and now I feel so obvious... they looked in my general direction at the same time but it's probably because they thought I was having an asthma attack (I have a very loud and weird laugh)

How did you finally get to the asking out stage? My friend seems to be stuck here. They’re both introverts and he gets very shy and is scared away easily, but then keeps coming back.
Ha. Ha. This brings me back to middle school. I like this guys because he had some charismatic moments, and I often caught him staring at me. But I denied it until my feelings cool off and then found out from his unsubtle friends that he liked me, but I have moved on... So let's make an awkward boundary so no one's hurt. 2 years late and yep I recently went through exactly what you did. Both our friend groups sat at the same lunch table during a study hall period, and most days she would literally move from her usual table to sit next to me to talk to her friends. And what did I do? Completely ignored her because I knew I would break down if I started speaking to her. Too bad we graduated this June
I know nobody asked me but, I want to share about the time I dated an ENTJ, I liked him at first sight in college, we lived in front of each other (inside the campus), just by looking through the blinds I could already see him (yeah, I watched him a lot xd creepy) Luckily, we were in the same class so i got several excuses to talk to him. Since we were neighbors we ran into each other "accidentally" on the way. I remember the time that I "accidentally" brought so much tofu so I called him to share it (I already knew that he is a vegetarian). In simply words, I studied him a lot hahaha so that the situations happened "accidentally", so that we ended dating😂 (nowadays I think that it was manipulation😢) (Oh, I'm an INFP) Now I know that my actions were kind of creepy ☹️ ... unless? 😂
That's not actual manipulation. That's just clever planning. 😆 When I first met my husband I liked him and wanted to invite him to a group event (to be AROUND him) but I had nothing to invite him to. So I invited him to a bookclub I was part of. And then I had to invent a bookclub. 💁♀️

I have experience of people not liking me because me being so quiet makes them think I don't like them and then people watching gets them to think I'm judging them from a distance. At least so I've been told. Means that I'm difficult to approach. There's a girl at work who's complained about me not paying attention to her before then actively tries to talk to me only sometimes, but then gets offended when my talking skills are awkward. Not sure if we'd actually click with each other, so I still don't initiate much.
If people knew, the majority would used it against you by taking advantage of your vulnerability. Too much credit has been given to the maturity of humanity. Can you imagine how much of unnecessary dramas and chaos that would create?

Try bring up some common likes/interests in conversation e.g. music/films/books/hobbies/current events/theories about the universe ect. Ask them about a book they're reading or an activity they enjoy doing. INTPs can be quite talkative when discussing their interests. Good luck! sincerly an INTP

Yeah, been there. One of my college crush was an intovert as well. So I was sitting next to him, figuring out how to start a conversation knowing it had to be me who started the conversation cause he won't do it. It was some love/hate situation there 😅

I've done both. 3:Asks your opinion on something and then trusts it. EX: should I cut my hair? 4: Smiles or stares at you a lot, accidentally or purposely. 5: Asks to do things 1 on one or team up. 6: Compliments you a lot or acts silly or even cool to you. (More than normal or to others) 7:Usually its quite obvious because they give you more attention than others. All these could be signs and extrovert likes you or... they are just an ENFP.

I consider myself an introvert but I can easily handle myself in social situations. I do get uncomfortable though when there's a lot of attention on me though whether it's good or bad.

These are true facts. My husband and I are both introverts, and before we started dating, we... did a lot of these things. We "randomly" sat next to each other on many occasions, stealthily learned many facts about each other, had a lot of accidental eye contact... Anyway, then he asked me out by email.

Just a thought that came to mind.. What if you’re ”wierdness” is just a cover up for the fear of not opening up will make them leave you? So you just wierd them out to se how much you could potentially do ”wrong”, to se if they’ll still stay.
When I first starting dating this guy, I was totally fine. He quickly realized he was going to have to carry the conversation though lol (I'm an introvert big time). Then I guess I started really liking him because suddenly I couldn't look at him and did the stereotypical giggle and blush. That lasted about a month. Thankfully he found it cute and endearing and I got over it.
OH MY GOD, you just reminded me of some embarrassing things I did in the past, I used to have a crush on someone, and my dude, I like never spoke to him, but still I even knew his name and used to yell his name whenever I saw him and waved at him, like for a long time, and not only that, when I did got his email i sent him a message saying that I am that girl calling you and waving to you every morning on the way to school :') I wonder why he didn't call the police...
Easiest way to let a guy know you like them is to TELL them. Guys can't take hints. We are very direct creatures. If you aren't flat out obvious with us, we Will not understand. We don't understand subtlety.

I know if not careful someone who is an extreme introvert married to someone who is quite the opposite can be a disaster. I wanted and needed to be home a lot. He needed to be out socializing, hanging out with his friends a lot. We grew apart and he found someone else to run and socialize with.

as a new employee, as i always do, i say very little and observe more, later the staff said they thought i was a spy for HR, 😂😂😂😂and i shared that sounds better than this work i was hired to do😒.

There's an introvert that when we hung out he wouldn't talk to me or barely look at me, just laugh or smile at things I said and answer my questions so short. I thought he thought I was annoying. Then a bit later he shows up at my house and gives me this super beautiful card and says nothing hahaha! He hands it to me, smiles, bows, and walks away! I was shocked! Still am shocked.

He showed up when my mom was being taken by the ambulance so it might've been a bit weird for him haha 🤣 Actually I did text his mom to thank him for me because I was friends with her, but didn't have his number. At first I even thought it was from his mom until she told me it was him when I texted her. She had no clue he had even done it!
omG, I actually do that, too! INFJ as well. I remember I had a crush at work once, and he was the quietest person I knew about in the workplace. He also gave off a calm, cute vibe. He usually didn't approach anyone for conversation, though he'd been working there for 2 years -I only had months there-. He was so mysterious... So I decided and made it my purpose that I'd make him talk to me! 😂 Anytime I saw him, I'd shout his name in English at him, to get his attention, and then smile and leave. Eventually he started to approach for conversation and I was usually listened to rather than the listener. I was happy I made this new shy friend talk to me 🤣 More recently I met someone who I like, but he's an extrovert. Even though I don't avoid him, whenever we meet he's certainly the one talking and I do the listening while I try to remain as calm and composed as possible 😁
I remember soaking up every piece of information my crushes' behaviour would reveal and then being disappointed missing one opportunity to do so. I love being introverted!
I'm an INFJ girl, one tip you could use is to talk to him about things he likes and ask him interesting questions, INFJs often look for people similar to us and we like them when we find them
talk to him about literature, science, art, funny things, nature, find out what his favorite animal is and ask him why, you can do all these things but moderately, we're usually interested in these issues and finding someone to talk to about this makes us happy 🤗

This is so helpful. I have an introvert who likes me. I want to be kind and respectful of his time and space. I'm an Extroverted-Introvert so I completely understand the need for space, but I also understand the loneliness piece too. All the things you've described my guy has done. I didn't know he liked me at first because for weeks he randomly messaged me small talk and I was really confused. Never rude, just confused because we've been friends for 3 decades. Eventually, I got tired of the small talk and asked if he wanted me to come visit him. It was like pulling teeth to get him to give me a straight answer. Fortunately I'm an intuitive empath and didn't let his lack of normal communication deter me. Each time we're together, he opens up a little more. I've decided to be patient and move at his pace. I know he's a good man and has always been a good friend. I never want to do anything to hurt him. Thank you for the great tips and thank you for all those who have commented sharing your experiences. I want to be a better person to all I come in contact with and I want to read your behavior properly.
I am hard of hearing and also an introvert. When I was a senior in high school there was this guy I had a crush on who was also an introvert. We hardly spoke to each other, we just both tried to hide the fact that we looked at each other frequently from afar. He approached me one day in the loud cafeteria and said something to me. I couldn’t make it out at all, so I said, “What?” He blushed and walked away. My friends started teasing me about how cruel I was. I was like, “seriously, what did he say?” They were like “You know!” It was sooooo frustrating. Then he was awkward around me and avoided looking at me at all. Later I found out that he had asked me to go to the Prom with him! I tried to talk to him once to explain that I’m just half DEAF but he didn’t want to talk to me. So I went to the prom with friends, he skipped it, and life as an introvert sucks. The end.
Feels. I am hearing impaired and no one believes that it is a real thing unless they can 'see' it. Too bad for not getting to prom with him but luckily the internet exists so you can at least look him up to explain. Relieving your conscience and at least letting him know that he was not the object of a joke in front of half the achool. It may become.... At least a feiendship.
Sometimes I accidentally turn away when I would have eye contact with another person, then it's just awkward because I don't want them to think I have a crush on them when in reality I just have social anxiety. Then I would make the avoidance of eye contact overly obvious and it just seems like I have a major crush on them, then everything just gets ultra awkward because they start to avoid eye contact as well while paying attention to my reactions and I don't even like this person gwhaaaah.
Literally when reporting traumas done to me to police they had so many folk in inspecting me like psychotherapist I believe who believed my painful stories and told us I had CPTSD. But I have social anxiety too. And I could not look at the eyes at all I kept avoiding eye contact. Police took it to be a sign of lying. My support told me tho it is difficult to do so try look in the eyes of the person I'm speaking to. So I did try. I had bad vision too which also does not help I can not see to study faces n since leaving abuse did not have my glasses. But I found out faces being blurry made me more anxious and cautious around people. Police... They made comments of me looking to the left a lot etc and signs of making up stories. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Discrediting my painful childhood experiences because of involuntarily memory eye movements and such. And the psychotherapist explained to police that I was remembering things n that is normal. Anyway. I did struggle with looking in eyes n social anxiety made things hard too. I just pretended I was alone then by looking st the window I had an escape or looking toward the wall and curling up toward it I felt safe to talk as it was the first time I ever spoke about the things that happened to me and so I can talk n they wanted me to talk about the details of vulnerable times which was even more awkward and hard to do. Anyway it was another traumatic event of my life. It had went on like that the interrogation treating me as if I was a criminal while I was victim for 22 years of horrific abuse it went on like that for 3 months. I learnt to never turn to police for any help. While in domestic violent abuse that was close to killing me I was fobbed off because the police guy rather get home early than have to deal with my paperwork report. My best friend was killed by her ex partner when the police failed to listen to her pleas for help.
I look at people, but always switch who I look at a lot, so nobody thinks it's odd when I look at them. I find that easier than never looking at anyone. I also tend to look at whoever is speaking, because nobody finds that odd for obvious reasons.

Lol I'm an introvert (infp) and I'm married to another introvert(istj) and looking back we both did a lot of these :) I don't remember thinking any of it was weird or awkward, and we ended up becoming best friends before we started dating :) I do remember randomly asking him about batteries once for no reason, and he also randomly came up to me once and was like, "wanna see a video of my goat?" 😂

I know nobody asked me but, I want to share about the time I dated an ENTJ, I liked him at first sight in college, we lived in front of each other (inside the campus), just by looking through the blinds I could already see him (yeah, I watched him a lot xd creepy)
Luckily, we were in the same class so i got several excuses to talk to him. Since we were neighbors we ran into each other "accidentally" on the way. I remember the time that I "accidentally" brought so much tofu so I called him to share it (I already knew that he is a vegetarian). In simply words, I studied him a lot hahaha so that the situations happened "accidentally", so that we ended dating😂 (nowadays I think that it was manipulation😢) (Oh, I'm an INFP)

I have experience of people not liking me because me being so quiet makes them think I don't like them and then people watching gets them to think I'm judging them from a distance. At least so I've been told. Means that I'm difficult to approach.

These are true facts. My husband and I are both introverts, and before we started dating, we... did a lot of these things.
We "randomly" sat next to each other on many occasions, stealthily learned many facts about each other, had a lot of accidental eye contact... Anyway, then he asked me out by email.

Just a thought that came to mind.. What if you’re ”wierdness” is just a cover up for the fear of not opening up will make them leave you? So you just wierd them out to se how much you could potentially do ”wrong”, to se if they’ll still stay.
When I first starting dating this guy, I was totally fine. He quickly realized he was going to have to carry the conversation though lol (I'm an introvert big time). Then I guess I started really liking him because suddenly I couldn't look at him and did the stereotypical giggle and blush. That lasted about a month. Thankfully he found it cute and endearing and I got over it.

OH MY GOD, you just reminded me of some embarrassing things I did in the past, I used to have a crush on someone, and my dude, I like never spoke to him, but still I even knew his name and used to yell his name whenever I saw him and waved at him, like for a long time, and not only that, when I did got his email i sent him a message saying that I am that girl calling you and waving to you every morning on the way to school :') I wonder why he didn't call the police...

I know if not careful someone who is an extreme introvert married to someone who is quite the opposite can be a disaster. I wanted and needed to be home a lot. He needed to be out socializing, hanging out with his friends a lot. We grew apart and he found someone else to run and socialize with.

There's an introvert that when we hung out he wouldn't talk to me or barely look at me, just laugh or smile at things I said and answer my questions so short. I thought he thought I was annoying.
Then a bit later he shows up at my house and gives me this super beautiful card and says nothing hahaha! He hands it to me, smiles, bows, and walks away! I was shocked! Still am shocked.

Actually I did text his mom to thank him for me because I was friends with her, but didn't have his number. At first I even thought it was from his mom until she told me it was him when I texted her. She had no clue he had even done it!

omG, I actually do that, too! INFJ as well. I remember I had a crush at work once, and he was the quietest person I knew about in the workplace. He also gave off a calm, cute vibe. He usually didn't approach anyone for conversation, though he'd been working there for 2 years -I only had months there-. He was so mysterious... So I decided and made it my purpose that I'd make him talk to me! 😂 Anytime I saw him, I'd shout his name in English at him, to get his attention, and then smile and leave. Eventually he started to approach for conversation and I was usually listened to rather than the listener. I was happy I made this new shy friend talk to me 🤣
More recently I met someone who I like, but he's an extrovert. Even though I don't avoid him, whenever we meet he's certainly the one talking and I do the listening while I try to remain as calm and composed as possible 😁

This is so helpful. I have an introvert who likes me. I want to be kind and respectful of his time and space. I'm an Extroverted-Introvert so I completely understand the need for space, but I also understand the loneliness piece too. All the things you've described my guy has done. I didn't know he liked me at first because for weeks he randomly messaged me small talk and I was really confused. Never rude, just confused because we've been friends for 3 decades. Eventually, I got tired of the small talk and asked if he wanted me to come visit him. It was like pulling teeth to get him to give me a straight answer. Fortunately I'm an intuitive empath and didn't let his lack of normal communication deter me. Each time we're together, he opens up a little more. I've decided to be patient and move at his pace. I know he's a good man and has always been a good friend. I never want to do anything to hurt him. Thank you for the great tips and thank you for all those who have commented sharing your experiences. I want to be a better person to all I come in contact with and I want to read your behavior properly.
I am hard of hearing and also an introvert. When I was a senior in high school there was this guy I had a crush on who was also an introvert. We hardly spoke to each other, we just both tried to hide the fact that we looked at each other frequently from afar.
He approached me one day in the loud cafeteria and said something to me. I couldn’t make it out at all, so I said, “What?” He blushed and walked away. My friends started teasing me about how cruel I was. I was like, “seriously, what did he say?” They were like “You know!” It was sooooo frustrating. Then he was awkward around me and avoided looking at me at all. Later I found out that he had asked me to go to the Prom with him! I tried to talk to him once to explain that I’m just half DEAF but he didn’t want to talk to me. So I went to the prom with friends, he skipped it, and life as an introvert sucks. The end.
Feels. I am hearing impaired and no one believes that it is a real thing unless they can 'see' it. Too bad for not getting to prom with him but luckily the internet exists so you can at least look him up to explain. Relieving your conscience and at least letting him know that he was not the object of a joke in front of half the achool. It may become.... At least a feiendship.
Sometimes I accidentally turn away when I would have eye contact with another person, then it's just awkward because I don't want them to think I have a crush on them when in reality I just have social anxiety. Then I would make the avoidance of eye contact overly obvious and it just seems like I have a major crush on them, then everything just gets ultra awkward because they start to avoid eye contact as well while paying attention to my reactions and I don't even like this person gwhaaaah.
Literally when reporting traumas done to me to police they had so many folk in inspecting me like psychotherapist I believe who believed my painful stories and told us I had CPTSD. But I have social anxiety too. And I could not look at the eyes at all I kept avoiding eye contact. Police took it to be a sign of lying. My support told me tho it is difficult to do so try look in the eyes of the person I'm speaking to. So I did try. I had bad vision too which also does not help I can not see to study faces n since leaving abuse did not have my glasses. But I found out faces being blurry made me more anxious and cautious around people.
Police... They made comments of me looking to the left a lot etc and signs of making up stories. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Discrediting my painful childhood experiences because of involuntarily memory eye movements and such. And the psychotherapist explained to police that I was remembering things n that is normal. Anyway.
I did struggle with looking in eyes n social anxiety made things hard too. I just pretended I was alone then by looking st the window I had an escape or looking toward the wall and curling up toward it I felt safe to talk as it was the first time I ever spoke about the things that happened to me and so I can talk n they wanted me to talk about the details of vulnerable times which was even more awkward and hard to do. Anyway it was another traumatic event of my life. It had went on like that the interrogation treating me as if I was a criminal while I was victim for 22 years of horrific abuse it went on like that for 3 months. I learnt to never turn to police for any help. While in domestic violent abuse that was close to killing me I was fobbed off because the police guy rather get home early than have to deal with my paperwork report. My best friend was killed by her ex partner when the police failed to listen to her pleas for help.
I do the exact thing so many times and I always find myself in a star of confusion praying they didn't get the wrong message 😂😑
I look at people, but always switch who I look at a lot, so nobody thinks it's odd when I look at them. I find that easier than never looking at anyone. I also tend to look at whoever is speaking, because nobody finds that odd for obvious reasons.

Lol I'm an introvert (infp) and I'm married to another introvert(istj) and looking back we both did a lot of these :) I don't remember thinking any of it was weird or awkward, and we ended up becoming best friends before we started dating :) I do remember randomly asking him about batteries once for no reason, and he also randomly came up to me once and was like, "wanna see a video of my goat?" 😂
I am actually the type that keep my mouth shut around my crush 😂 Which is indeed confusing, because I am usually the kind that initiate conversation when I’m trying to make friends. One time my crush called me because he wanted to ask me to go to the library with him, but I pretended to not hear him and kind of run, out of panic (i guess?} 😂

It's so reassuring that normal introverts also store embarrassing memories to torture themselves months/years later with them, or that they are also afraid of social interactions and are self conscious 24/7, godamn I thought smth was wrong with me for getting tired after 10 minutes of socializing and needing time alone despite i didn't mind hanging out with my friends or neither I hate them...
