I think interviews are actually a test of how well you can lie under pressure while looking innocent and enthusiastic. Thats actually a job requirement for many companies. How well you can behave like a trained dog because they need you to be a robot really. Take orders, don't cause trouble and just accept your value to the company is equal to the printer - the only noise you are required to make is because you're working..

time to cancel society and make a new social contract.
What happened to the 1960's when a person could get a job and stay there for 20 years knowing as long as he did his best for the company they'd take care of him while giving him enough to be able to buy a home and take care of a wife and children.
Was that just some TV land fever dream? Anti communist propaganda?

@StraightShooterGaming - Turns out that when you blow most of the modern world to hell except for one country, that country has a huge economic advantage. Especially when all the young men come home with military training.
To break an economy like that you really need to do something drastic, like exporting jobs and importing labor for the ones you can't export in order to keep wages down until inflation annihilates the middle class.

When it comes to powering through checking expiration dates on 4,000 items by yourself, with no help, I think introverts will push through the isolation of a solo job for a longer time before they get restless. If the job requires constant human interaction, extroverts will come through it with a lot more energy in the end, and most jobs require human interaction.

They know you're all about being able to afford groceries. They want to know why you chose them over Joe's doughnut shop down the street, because it will tell them about what drives you, what your work ethic and ambition is, and what they can probably expect from you as an employee. I got away with my answer because it was not only honest, but it expressed that I am driven by honor and mutual respect, and that my work ethic is as high as they need it to be and I'm not going to just leave because I hate working. It would also have communicated that I might dump them if offered a higher paying job, but I took that risk because I knew they were desperate for someone to fill my position and I had already told them I had another interview that day. I was once asked about my "management style" in a job interview. This was my answer:
"First, spend about one month observing who works and who does not. Then fire those who don't work. Next, make absolutely certain everyone has all the tools, materials, and supplies necessary to do their work. After that, stay the hell out of their way and let 'em do their jobs because they absolute one thing working people do not need is a manager always looking over their shoulder."
The lady smiled and said, "I have never heard it put more simply or truthfully."
That was 20 years ago. Is it safe to assume I didn't get the job?

And that's why when these discussions of jobs, employment, working for a living go further (meaning online and not "here," in person, in "real life" where I live), I make it a point to always limit my observations and conclusions to my life here (01) in southwest Virginia (i.e., maybe it's a "southern" thing, or maybe small town v city?) and (02) those 49 years 01 month 13 days of (03) full-time (04) blue-collar labor that ended with me (05) having worked for sixty employers .
And it always begins with #1: I am the first to admit I always had a real problem with "authority figures" in the world of "corporate America" and working for a living. I.E., maybe it's just "me"?
So omit all that lengthy history of socio-political-economic changes in my lifetime (but it really does "factor into" these little discussions very much) and all reduces to I worked for exactly three "managers"--male--I would have walked through hell for. Most of the rest? I would sent them there if I had the power.
But I have always envied people like you, people who actually have fond memories of the good people they worked for.

And government jobs? Only one: A correctional office at a state prison. That was back in '78 and that really was the beginning of me hating all-things "government". The inmates? Pfft. Honestly texting is the same to me as talking on the phone only I seem to be less able to get my compassionate tone across and because I am blunt this sometimes makes people mad at me that I normally am able to talk to in person very well.
But I am somewhat of a mix of introvert and extrovert.
I like to talk alot but after a certain amount of deep conversations for the day I literally get tired.
For me this includes texting conversations.

@@SugarandSarcasm This was a very big rarity and sadly, it might be ending if my state doesn't renew our contract or if we can't find new states to contract with at the end of this year (yes, in one month's time. Even if the contract is renewed, they'll likely be cutting a lot of us as work has been very slow).
For shame...the job even paid for our insurance premiums so that wasn't deducted from our pay check so long as we got the basic employee only plan. We got zero PTO or holiday pay (holidays were paid out at the rate of regular days), but there was no constant requests for working overtime as we closed no later than 9PM. Saturdays are always only an 8AM to 12PM schedule so for me, I had two and a half days off from work, working four 9 hour days and then the four hour Saturday. If they have to let us go, I'm going to be sticking like glue to the job board for this company to get back on with them at a later date. Jobs like this only come around once in a century, especially for it to technically fall under customer service, a field notorious for underpaying and being very stressful.

@@ChristBearerFlameHeart Sounds like you're an ambivert, a mix of both an introvert and extrovert :) I would consider myself the same, though sounds like both you and I lean just a little more towards the introverted side :)
I prefer texting as I can think of how I wish to word myself much better than when having to speak directly on the spot on a phone. To make things even easier with my job, though, we use canned responses and we can only assist with a very limited amount of issues through our chat. However, I often find many of the responses to be a bit blunt. I'm allowed to freehand a response so long as what I'm telling them is still acurate. This way, I can be a little more polite and less robotic.

This dude is so introvert that you can see the awkwardness on his face even when he's talking to himself.
    Like me.

I am the introvert whom no one would think is an introvert, untill they learned I have less friends than most people who refuse to leave their apartments (when there isn't a pandemic).

“I feel like every answer I’ve given you today is a mistake” INFJs when they open up and be honest spilling all of their inner thoughts and emotions and end up feeling like a deflated balloon when they later replay the whole conversation in their heads.

Finally! A video that keeps it 💯 about how introverts really feel about interviews and the dreaded workplace environment.🤦🏽‍♀️ As an introvert myself, so many things you said resonated‼️I’ve always viewed earning a living and pursuing my passion as two entirely different things. I’ll NEVER be passionate about working for anyone else-that’s for sure.😂 My only interest was earning a paycheck…and I did that long enough to realize that I couldn’t do it for the rest of my life. Thanks for shedding some light on how we REALLY feel.💖💕🔥‼️

I've read so many interview guides and wonder why is how they tell us to speak is the superior way. Can't say one thing negative (It's the only job I could find; I have nothing good to say; etc) because supposedly that makes you socially undesirable. Oh, and you have ten measly minutes to make the interviewer like you. But relax and be yourself!
