Hey - what about making something for other TH-camrs - to mount or do something cool with their Silver Play buttons - - pretty large market and something cool might catch on. Best!
If you sand before cutting,you’ll only need to do a little cleanup sanding afterwards. Much easier. Also, even though a 2x4 is 4E, doing a quick pass with a round over bit in a palm router will make it look much nicer. Maybe justify the $.

May not actually improve the sound, but it will look like something that should improve the sound so it will sell better. edit: or us a round over router bit with follower bearing on your router table to round out the opening of the hole into a horn. anything that makes it look more like a speaker will make it more marketable on places like etsy.

I promise you, nobody paid $45 for that. Neat project for the kids to do, and maybe sell to their friends. I'd guess you could get maybe $5. Which is still not bad, considering you could make a bunch of these for a few dollars. But no, you're not going to make $70,000 per year doing this. The ones on Etsy say "personalized", which probably means laser-etched. You could probably sell those for $15-20. But then you have to buy a laser too.

It gives my tunes a nice thump. Plus, it fires the sound waves out in a specific direction. :) id say 8.5 out of 10 considering what little effort it took :)
I have a question. Does it actually help amplify the sound? My hearing is getting worse and worse, And we cannot use wireless earphones at work. Want to try this.
It 100% boosts the bass and fires the sound more truly in one direction. With my phone in the top, if I cover the little hole there is a heavy dampening of the sound. That being said, there are some cooler (and still simple) ones that have larger openings that would do the job a little better. But, this is a fun starter project :)
I'm thinking one could find buyers at the $3-$5 price range...$4 would be best, because a buyer would likely have a $5 bill(or $10, whatever) and it's easier/quicker for them to pull out one bill and you give them one bill in return = fast transaction, they don't have time to think too hard. But $45....Please tell us where there are people who are willing to pay that kind of price. Just a very general "where", don't need a specific location.

I wanted to add the round over to the front, but wanted to keep the tools to a minimum. I like the horn idea!

On some of them, make the hole off center. On every Galaxy phone I've owned, the speaker port is on the right side of the base.
I missed the mark with adding in that tid-bit of info. They work very well in the center, but they could be improved ;)
Does it actually amplify. I’ve made tons of variants of these with little added sound boost
It gives my tunes a nice thump. Plus, it fires the sound waves out in a specific direction. :) id say 8.5 out of 10 considering what little effort it took :)

It 100% boosts the bass and fires the sound more truly in one direction. With my phone in the top, if I cover the little hole there is a heavy dampening of the sound. That being said, there are some cooler (and still simple) ones that have larger openings that would do the job a little better. But, this is a fun starter project :)

I'm thinking one could find buyers at the $3-$5 price range...$4 would be best, because a buyer would likely have a $5 bill(or $10, whatever) and it's easier/quicker for them to pull out one bill and you give them one bill in return = fast transaction, they don't have time to think too hard.
But $45....Please tell us where there are people who are willing to pay that kind of price. Just a very general "where", don't need a specific location.
