@@2genders-tk2ue”defund the police” means strip down the bloated police budget, and increase the number of social workers who can reach peaceful solutions and help people. Most of the time the police are called, it’s because someone is having a crisis, a mental health issue, or domestic argument, that kind of thing. And cops are usually terrible at de escalating tension. Even when they’re good with people, they’re intimidating to people. So it’s best to use the right tools for the situation. @@2genders-tk2ue I kind of always have to laugh at that. If things are so bad, why would you not only keep doing the same thing, but keep doing more of it?
The term "defund the police" is a poor term for what I think most people want. Police Officers kind of serve a wide net of services that they aren't always prepared for. For example, they deal with a lot of mental health situations. Now people going through mental health crisis can be unstable, and police have an ability to defend with lethal force if they feel threatened. Because there are a lot of guns in the United States, it leads to a lot of situations where police have to use their weapon. One of the suggested alternatives is diverting certain funding away from law enforcement(defund) into a mental health crisis team that would deal with those types of calls instead of police. Then there is corruption. The idea is drop funding for agencies that are/have been accused of corruption or employ known corrupt law enforcement officers. Now I don't particularly agree with it because, like you said, it doesn't solve the problem. The problem is more that a lot of prosecutors/police departments work hand in hand and the people who investigate abuses of power or corruption are highly tied in with the department. It's kind of impossible to avoid because they work together. So the better solution there would be to have some type of independent board that is responsible for these types of investigations. Regardless of if the investigation is partial or impartial, it tends to look really bad when an officer is accused of misconduct and the police department puts out a statement saying something to the effect of "the officers actions were within the perimeters of their legal authority and justified by A,B,C, etc." Needless to say it's a complicated issue that like many things requires multifaceted solutions. @@petervanquish

that second one disgusts me. that cop desperately tried to ruin that young man’s reputation by ignoring his pleas for a breathalyzer, and instead made him perform unnecessary sobriety tests. then after he blew a 0.00, he arrested him for smoking weed??? which he didn’t even do??? crazy.
It gets worse they tried suing him the cop and chief for defamation once the guy posted the video footage and added his commentary such as the cop lying about his red eyes, the cop mis counting the steps in a sobriety test, stuttering, putting bare hands on the mouth piece of a breathalyzer, him failing to do an example of the sobriety test.
Assuming reason why u said it gotten "worse" is bcuz the lawsuit didn't go well on the kids end? IF that's the case then that's crazy , cuz I def would of sued As well as anyone un that position I hope....
I agree the cop was not good, but i also dont think the suspect is right when he says that the police officer will "look stupid" when the test shows 0. Here we dont even do these silly sobriety tests they have a funnel to put onto the handheld tester and most everyone stopped for any reason gets to blow toward it. It will then show if there is any amount of alcohol in the breath and if there is, the police officer will put a tube on and the test will be repeated. It is never silly to do routine test, anyone that has not been drinking has nothing to fear from this simple test.
@@Adnan-B05N1A What i get from tboy817 comments "it gotten worse" because the cop and chief tried to sue the victim for defamation since The victim posted a video with his own commentary of the situations. I dont know if i am right or not,but that was my understanding from his comments .
Fun fact: the guy in the second case sued the department (for obvious reasons), and now the cop is suing him for defamation for showing the body cam footage to the public. Which when you think about it, It’s completely and utterly absurd. It’s not defamatory to show your actions verbatim. If your actions make you look bad, it’s likely because they were bad actions you shouldn’t have done.
in all transparency, no they werent suing just because of the body footage, he was suing bc the kid made some dumbass comments during his case that the officers took advantage of and used against him, not to take away from the kid suing, officers definitely deserved what they had coming, but it's important to not say anything during your own legal case that can be incriminating/used against you lol
It’s so nice to see when cops actually get some consequences for their actions. But it’s sad when you remember that 99% don’t have to face anything and even get promoted sometimes.
That second one is insane. Cop makes him do an hour worth of sobriety tests, blows .000, and he STILL brings him in so he can test the poor driver for drugs (which he passed). All because he "fumbled" with his registration. There needs to be serious consequences for officers who have power trips like that.
These people deal with drugged people all the time. I don't think they have problems differentiating a nervous person with a drug person. He had probably taken something that wouldn't be seen on the tests, since he was regularly tested in school. I feel like he pushed the "just test me dude!" a little too hard, they both know most of the drugs out there won't be seen on tests. That said, they have a quota to fill. Perhaps it was a slow night, maybe they had seen him around some other known people. I don't think the cop wanted to spend his night like that either, talking to teenagers for hours sounds like a dreadful job.
@@n333k333 But he did look real stupid at the end. Sure, the video on his phone did not look good, but he did his just due documenting and covering his butt should the footage not show up from the body cameras.
Cops should have weekly meetings, 30 minutes or so a week where they have to watch these videos and identify what the cops did wrong. Also tell them the punishment the cop/ Cops received, giving priority to showcasing situations where the perpetrators' punishment was jail and being fired. Might help to prevent the "above the law" mentality that so many Cops have! Not to mention that so many of the cops in this video seemed ignorant of the law and rights protecting citizens!
Eh. Who knows. We only get to actually see one side of it. Maybe they had it coming, maybe they didn’t. I do actually think there’s a time and a place for cops to rough people up. The problem with allowing that is that all police will at some point not be judicious with it and rough up the wrong person. But that doesn’t mean that it wouldn’t have been warranted in all cases either. It’s a tough one.

Then they would be able to weed those types out more quickly because they wouldn’t be just trying to fill positions with the few people willing to take the job. Paying off that kind of student loan debt on an officer’s salary would take forever. Also, not many people want to have their lives in danger on a daily basis for the low pay & long, bad hours. The reality is that when the pay is low, the work is hard, & the treatment by the public is disrespectful at best, the quality of candidates reflects this. It's as if the police forces are operating in the 1950s while everyone else is living in 2024. I really believe we need a federal law requiring officers to have body-cams footage of all arrests made in uniform because there are still police and sheriff departments that don't use body-cams at all. I worked on a defendant's case from Polk Co., Florida, and I thought there was some mistake when there was no body-cams footage in Discovery. The Polk Co. Sheriff makes enormous busts practically every month and holds a press conference within a couple of days of the bust. Corrupt cops is one thing, but dealing with dumb cops is a minefield of its own. A dumb cop tried arresting my dad with no evidence by stating he was too old to drive all because a lady insisted he drove into the back of her car when we parked and called the police on us. Granted the parking space was tight, but I directed him in. We did nothing wrong and hit nothing. I was the only one who even bothered looking over the dent in the lady's car and saw the proof that it wasn't my dad's car that did the damage, bright as day. I had to speak down to the officer like a little child and after confirming to me that he wasn't colourblind I asked him to tell me what colour my dad's cars was. When he said it was black, I then asked him to check the dent in the lady's car and tell what colour paint he saw. When he saw the paint was bright leaf green he let us go on our way. We didn't stick around as we were both STRESSED beyond belief by that point. The last thing I heard when I got in the car was "You need a VERY good explanation ma'am. Calling the police with false pretences is a serious crime." I hope she got arrested.
The lies told by these cops were outrageous, and it seems when they can't find a reason to arrest, they make up false allegations since their ego is big regardless.
It happened to me where an off duty cop almost ran into me and my kid when he was blowing a stop sign. I sped up to miss him from nailing us. Would have killed my kid in the passenger side. He proceeded to get out and threaten me after I parked on my own will. He threatened to arrest me and impound my car and "call his boys" on me to get the job done. I repeated to him that he should be thanking me for safely evading an accident that HE almost caused because he was going to be late for dinner reservations with his wife (I watched where he went after). Flashed his badge in my face and when he saw the gun in my lap, and my death glare he said "we will just pretend like this never happened"... Yeah I'm sure you will or I'll sue you
It just goes to show how dumb some of these cops really are. They seem to forget that they too are wearing recording devices and still make up BS stories. They're basically creating irrefutable evidence against themselves! 😂

Apropos auditors. How would the night cyclist case unfold had the guy responded physically after the flashlight bump? Emphasis AFTER. Though I doubt it'd be in the boys' favor. Speak about provocations again and who has more experience on the job to play it out.

If someone with a gun is murdering kids in a classroom, then you send cops - though if you follow the news you’ll know they are useless in that situation, too.
no it wont we dont need them at all what exactly are u relying on them for keeping peace? What peace lol thered be less crimes if people wer defended by their neighbours and loved ones who would be free to punish said offenders in any way they see fit.

I was nearly gonna suspect that the breathalyser would be tampered to always show an arrestable result

Fun fact: the guy in the second case sued the department (for obvious reasons), and now the cop is suing him for defamation for showing the body cam footage to the public.

The good guys no longer think it’s worth it anymore. The obvious solution would be to have higher salaries & higher pre-qualifications in order to apply.
Calling the police with false pretences is a serious crime."

@@hjjackson05 no real harm done but still he should be fired period, he tried to frame that boy and that is an absolute red flag for police. One day some person will pay dearly because a pos like this is still rolling on the street with a badge.
@@reinerhoch1357plenty of harm done
@@redfordreddington8834 did you just read my first 4 words or what harm are you talking about? except a wet sweatshirt, some blood drawn and over an hour completely useless wasted time what real harm?
All those police officers in the DUI testing are now suing the young man for defamation of character
How pathetic must one person be, to use their badge to threaten a child? These people are below criminals, because they misuse the trust of the society. Disgusting.
100% FACTZ!
A child? That’s a bit of a stretch don’t you think? They’re over 18…
@@ItsaSkillishu they look like kids, they’re close enough to the age to be a kid, and the cop treated them like kids… So no, it’s not a stretch
@@ItsaSkillishu Yeah and not even allowed to drink alkohol in their country. 18 is just a number. They were kids playing around, nothing else.
@ItsaSkillishu
If you don’t think an 18yo is still a kid, it’s because you’re still a kid yourself.
Bro, exact same thing happened to me. Same questions used and everything. “Why are you driving like that?” “How much have you had to drink””why are your eyes bloodshot”. That happened to me 15 years ago and it still pisses me off.
“ So I just wanna know… how do you feel?” LOL!!!
"I swing both ways bro!" ....to the chief of police lol
That was cute...☮
I was so confused I thought it was the cop saying that@@RaulMAnderson101-pr6cj
"He's fumbling around with his registration." Yeah most people are nervous and have adrenaline pumping when stopped by a police officer.
The "trained" officer was fumbling with the breathalyzer testing equipment. Think he should of been tested himself.
Or there’s a bunch of stuff in your glovebox and the documents are usually nowhere to be found.
And at the end the officer basically knew what troubles lie ahead of him and beg not to be exposed..I hope the kid won his suit and got him fired..
If you are black "fumbling around" in the glove compartment can be your death sentence.
@@Bob-jm8kl Yep, that's one of the worst feelings in the world is when searching for your registration and insurance, and you can't find them.
I mean even when in car alone, they can be hard to find, but after watching this video, I'm going to make sure that both my insurance card and registration are together in one envelope labeled as such.

when I was in HS over a decade ago two boys did that fight-off chest-to-chest stance and another girl at our lunch table said “imagine if he just leaned over and 💋.” we laughed till we cried thinking about the literal trauma it would inflict on a straight dude (of that time).
this… is that straight dude all grown up hahaha catching charges over the next generation who’s not afraid to kiss and make up 😂😂
I bet my balding brother in Christ has nightmares of that moment, but dude can’t wake up from the kiss hahah

Imagine how many corrupt cases that chief of police has created while being a cop!
All of the cases involving that Chief of Police should be re-examined. What he did with his torch was an unprovoked assault. Absolutely disgraceful!!!
It says a lot about the departments standards that he made chief .
"You wanna make out? I'll make out with you right now. I swing both ways, bro." Best line of the whole video lmao. [2:14] Kid knows he's right and just having fun milking it, and being weird with the cop lmao. Few situations truly worth pulling the gay card - this is one of them. 🤣🤣🤣 I also, enjoy getting weird with people who are being assholes and/or taking things way too seriously. It's a creative, highly-amusing way to mock the stick up their ass. They typically also *HATE* the fact you're not as mad as them lmao.

Officer Winters is clearly a criminal in a uniform. Both he, his accomplice, and the police department need to held accountable for their harassment on a polite innocent victim.

Glad to see people learning their rights and defending themselves. Not saying cops need to be defunded AT ALL, if anything they need more funding and better vetting programs. They also need continuing education courses that teach them not to abuse their power and how to follow the law themselves.
200IQ, aye oky then. This guy 14:26 sounded like Cleetus the slack jawed yokel when he laughed.
You have got to love the kid for standing up for his rights, best wishes for him and father.
i don't. the kid was being enough of an asshat for neighbors to call the cops. probably not the first time

That's the problem with an authoritative corps. They have a bad habit of backing each other no matter how wrong they are.

@@thepalebluedot4171The US is an underdeveloped nation for 90% of its citizens.

In most departments, the officers that starts the interaction is referred to as the arresting officer, and the department policy is that no one besides a supervisor is allowed to go against the arresting officer. They have to go along with their every action until after the situation is over.

Good on these young people for standing their ground when they had been accused of things they did not do, so disappointing seeing bad cops out there that should not be on the force.
