One of the all-time great comedies you can watch a million times, never get tired of it and laugh harder the next time you see it. Every actor in this movie was perfection in his role.
I think this role made a star out of Lemmon. To this day, I think about this scene when I think of Lemmon. RIP. Thank god he was not stuck in Don Knotts roles the rest of his career.
Man! If I was Henry Fonda's character the moment I heard the whole damn stick was full of Mercury Fulminate I'd have taken it away from Pulver and thrown it overboard.

Great little moment where Doc adjusts his jaw after the boom...
Cagney did a masterful job as the captain everybody loved to hate.
"WHAT WAS THAT?"
"Friend of the working girl!"
Nick McCavitt I love a good working girl make you feel like a real man
And you know that Frank went back to the States after the war ended and married a working girl.

This formed me.. Thank you so much for posting..
Idk hes pretty resourceful
Me: I would love to play in all those suds!
Cast: we nearly died
LOL! Love it! Classic stuff!
"BAM, BAM, BAM!!"
We plow deep while others sleep

"You're a hot little firecracker." - Osgood to Daphne in "Some Like It Hot"
My opinion, SLIH is the funniest American movie ever made. Lemmon and Brown (Osgood) absolutely stole the show but it's great all around.
I said to myself Pullver boy
Theres Nurses on that island
"Don't be an idiot, Frank, just test it by throwing it overboard."
(cut to interior of Japanese submarine...)
sounds like a scene more suited for the comedy 1941
Submarine sails outta there in full retreat.

JEEZ THAT'S STUFF'S TERRIFIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey! There's noises on that island.
Probably a good thing they didn't put it under the old man's bunk, or they'd be charged with murder!
and for blowing half of the superstructure off....
And mutiny.
Or worse expelled
Maybe I imagine that captain might have made a lot of enemy they my have gotten of with it was an accident .
@johnnycoyo Never said "hell". Wasn't allowed in '55. Audio's just out of synch.
tommyt1971 Exactly. If my memory is correct, MGM had to pay a fine for the word "Damn" in Gone With The Wind."
@@TitanicHorseRacingLover Good thing they didn't use the F word...
they censored "what the hell ?" WTF ?
LOL - What was that????
