- Temple sits right in the heart of Central Texas and is redefining the definition of a "railroad town." We learn all about the history in the old Santa Fe Depot that's now the Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum. We eat one of the biggest chicken-fried steaks in Texas at Old Jody's Restaurant. We make fresh kolaches at the Kolache Kitchen. We do some shooting sports at Weber's Range. We hike through Miller Springs Park. And finally we finish it up with fresh pie from Treno Pizza that's leading the charge on downtown renovation.

I'll never go to Temple without a stop at Old Jody's.
Never thought I’d see Temple in a video like this 😂
Temple Strong!!
I have lived in temple my whole life and its so cool to see the things i grew up with and are so normal to me being appreciated by someone new.
Chet: it was great to see the nieces and nephews in the show! ❤Temple is really worth visiting, as you did a great job covering the highlights. Love being a newbie texan (one year in). I am really putting on the miles checking out the places you show me. Bumper sticker/ “ I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could” fits me. Though not entirely truthful, as it took 70 years.!🤣.
I just moved away from good ol temple town....I miss it...and I saw my old house on the drone footage!!! The frog legs at old Jody's are amazing!!!!
Temple will always hold a special place in my heart. That whole area is my Dad's side of the family which means everything to me. Go up the road a bit and there is Little River Academy where a huge part of my ancestors are buried. Very special place :) Thanks Chet!
All my ancestors are from Little River & I was raised out there.
I actually live in Temple since I was born still live here we used to go to the new Jody's when i was little until they close it down but we still go to the other Jody's God bless y'all I hope you liked our little town
I also love this video because no one really does stuff about Temple or talk about Temple so I'm glad you actually came to visit Temple
Awesome video. I’ve driven through Temple and near Temple but I never stopped and explored. It’s a beautiful area. I think I’m going to take another road trip soon.
Wow! Start it up, and first thing I see is my apartment complex where I live!
I don't care if I am from Temple...this really was the best episode ever!!! So glad you guys came for a visit! Come back anytime!!! (...and did you try the Jody's onion rings???)
I’ve known Joey and Glenda my entire life. Great people and great food.
Guess I'm going to Temple now!
🇸🇴🇵🇱
Nothing there, you aren't missing out
Hope you enjoyed your trip to Temple. We'd love to have ya back.
I watched your visit to El Paso, Texas and just saw you had one for Temple! I grew up Temple and Belton Texas and nice to know the history where I grew up! Now I reside in EP but I have been finding out a lot of history through your channel I did not know! I absolutely love it!
Loving these. Yall need to check out hemphill Texas area .
HEMPHILL?? There's nothing there but dirty water , lots of mosquitos, & Koa campgrounds, & gators..😮
@@streetsmartintelligent We got gators here in Temple. I've floated the Leon and seen gator hooks 9 inches long hanging from trees. Stillhouse Hollow is loaded with gators.
@@streetsmartintelligenttemple is no better
@@Juggernaut-fg2up I wasnt comparing Hemphill to Temple? I just stated we have gators here also.
superb done,💫
Czech museum is great, a must stop in Temple
How do you do a Temple episode and include Belton and Troy?
Also, how does anyone not go to bill’s grill?
I’m old enough to remember the coffee shop and VHS rental store where the Czech heritage museum is.
They have an episode dedicated to belton
@@Jonathan-uc7do EXACTLY! Let Temple have its own episode, we got cool stuff. It’s just not in the heart of the down town. I mean we have some cool old original stuff left in down town, NOT MUCH, because their “rejuvenation” of down town. We used to have a cool down town, cool enough for a little city like Temple, anyways.
Jody's is classic
really bueno season, y’all…
how did u have room for chicken fry and pizza, that chicken fry would have done me in for the day
Fort hood 🇺🇸
So let’s see, kolaches, an xl chicken fried steak, beer, and pizza in a daytrip! How do you not weigh 3 bills?!!😂
Ill miss watching this in history class this is such a good series
YESSS me too 😂
you should go to northeast bexar county !! out by live oak and selma !! and there's also windcrest on the way .windcrest is best at christmas time for the lights .
WILDCAT NATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Koláč singular; koláče plural!
Question from my hubby. What boots are you wearing😂. He says he likes them lol. He always wear thorogood boots.
Hubby works on the RR there in Temple.
13:06 looking good.
Miller Springs is in Belton. If you were going to branch out to Belton, you should have hit up Belton Downtown, Chalk Ridge Falls, and even Salado.
Miller Springs is technically in Temple because it's on the north side of the Leon River which divides Temple from Belton. However, it has a Belton address and is maintained by Temple with some help from Belton.
It's a "nature preserve" now, but 50 years ago we rode dirt bikes and dune buggies there. Even camped out. Big fun.
@@garyjackson3531 Camping sounds fun. Dirt bikes and dune buggies smell as good as a pack of cigarettes and a spilled beer on your shirt.
There were previous episodes on Belton and Salado. Have a place on Stillhouse and enjoy a lot of the area with plenty of outdoors activities and nice smaller to mid-sized towns. The falls at Chalk Ridge Falls are really flowing now and it's a scenic drive out 2484 to Stillhouse Hollow Road to Harker Heights with the lake very high right now.
I grew up in temple. Parents still there. This is not very accurate. As far as Temple goes.
And I thought Oscar Store chicken fried was good. Have to try Old Jody’s now.
webers is in my good old town troy Texas
Hope you didnt park wrong at Miller Springs lol
First view!!
I see what is wrong with Chet, he shoots left handed.
I need 10 seconds to tell everyone something Good!
I care about yall as people, and tell you that
The scriptures tell us that Jesus Christ died for people's sins!
Whoever will have their faith in Him, that through Him, they'll be pardoned from the Judgement of their Sins by God, will be pardoned, and will be saved! Amen and good day 😊
Eat at one place, see a tiny museum, shoot outside......wow isnt temple so anazing lol
He didn't go anywhere. He could have went to BitBar, which is a retro arcade that serves alcohol, it's legit.
