I really recommend you either put on a stock GE oil pump or modified the GTE pump ... You're going to have front seal problem like crazy I promise you been there done that learn from my mistake
@@MaxFuller You said you know guys who's running the GTE oil pump on the GE but I can bet you don't know as much guys as me who run into that problem.. when I replace the pump with a modified pump my problem went away.. depends how much power you're trying to make and from the looks of it you have stock main caps and main bolt You should be able to run a stock OEM GE vvti oil pump with no problem
Hey mate! Awesome video! I was wondering if you have to check the clearances for the crank and cam bearings(where they seat on). I had an mx5 before and you had to check the clearances. Is it also the case in 2jz ? I am planning to build my own engine as well. I’m handy and I’m an automotive engineer but never had a chance to experience this. So any tip is welcome. And also as I asked before, what about the clearances ?
What is the clearances gap for the piston rings that you used becouse every one do it diferent but i make it the same build you do i am little confuse with that
Do you used stock block or you do any work machine shop work I going to do the exactly same build ge vvti engine with used oem gte piston and rods my engine only have 50k miles so I don't think I need to do any block work right?
When you timed it, were you not worried about the valves hitting the pistons? I’m about to time mine and I’m struggling with the idea of how to do it. Should I take the cams out and time the crank first?
So sex for guys like me....I can build that motor blindfold yet still love 86mm bore and stroke...1uz trying to understand next with bigger bore vs stoke...look in to bore vs stroke for all yall fellas ...it mean something with fire order...but 2jz still my son
Only experienced guys understand crossplain vs other...Google it boys formula 1 ...yet us poor guys can buy....and yes ls2 make more power but use less fuel...hope government not get me for this post...5.0 ford tried to copy it...but it had to put $$on boost pressure think pick uz. If I'm wrong please let me know and I'll listen
you don't have to do all that drama. we pushed a bone stock non vvti NA-T to 830 whp and did a 10 second. all we did was put a thicker gasket to handle more boost. the engine lived forever but my buddy had a fully built 2jzgte and couldn't just wait for the na to die so we pulled it out
I really appreciate you making sure to show part numbers. Thanks for that.
No worries ☺️🤘🏼

Why is that?
Everyone I know runs the gte pump with no issues 🤷🏼♂️

Fair enough haha well it’s on there now 😂 will have to see what happens, if it leaks I will get ge modified one 👌🏼 I’m only going to run 450-500whp
@@MaxFuller not a GE modified get a stock GE or a modified GTE just remember you have been warned You know where to find me when it start leaking 😂👍🏾
Yeah 😂😂🤷🏼♂️
Nice one mate, need more videos like this! Will be looking forward to the rest of this series
Thanks man 🤘🏼 plenty more jz stuff to come haha
That looks incredible!! Can't wait to hear it run!! Well done Maxwell!! 👏🏼 🍻 🚙 💨
Thanks bro! Hopefully soon! 🔥

Can we get a complete parts list please !! 😁
Yeah I will do a full parts/price list once it’s fully done 👌🏼
does the ecu master need cam and crank sensor? does the ge vvti come with those?
Yes it does, and yeah 👌🏼
How about oil squirter for the piston underside?
2JZ-GE’s don’t have those, GTE’s do though
Not needed. But you can get a machine shop to install them if you want.
Great video got me waiting for the next
Thank you! 🙏 plenty more coming 🤘🏼
What is the clearances gap for the piston rings that you used becouse every one do it diferent but i make it the same build you do i am little confuse with that
They will be different for every engine depending on the wear of the block, I can’t remember the tolerances, easy to find on Google
Looking bloody nice mate!
Thanks man 🤘🏼

Only thing I did is get the head skimmed and block skimmed
I’m curious why you didn’t clean the carbon deposits off of the pistons. Is there any reason?
Yeah they did get cleaned, got most of the carbon off, was just very difficult to get them perfect
Amazing video! Love you showed torque orders and specs, as well as some part numbers. 🤌🏼
Thanks man 🤘🏼🙏
How much did it cost you to build up your 2j??
How much was the parts excluding the 2JZ-GE engine?
Check my videos, I have a full price list video
When you timed it, were you not worried about the valves hitting the pistons? I’m about to time mine and I’m struggling with the idea of how to do it. Should I take the cams out and time the crank first?
Depends what pistons you have, I have gte pistons, they are non interference, so they will never hit the valves
@@MaxFuller gotcha. Okay that makes sense. I bought wiseco pistons so hopefully they’re similar in that sense. Thanks man!
Is it the same with 1jz for head gasket should i use the gte one to lower the compression for my 1jz plus t
Yeah man
What's a 2jz nat ?
Did you drill for oil squirters?
Na, you don’t need the squirters
What was the bore/thickness of the gasket?¿
Stock bore, stock gte head gasket
Good progress dude. Looking forward to seeing this out on track.
Thanks dude! Hopefully soon haha I’m aiming for February 🤘🏼
Amazing video thank you 💪🏽
Thanks you 😊🙏
Do ypo re uee the. Stock ge vvti pistons?
No I used the GTE ones, you can use the GE ones if you want, I just wanted to run a lower compression, close to a stock GTE
I’ll be doing this… love my gs . Wanna see her slayyy🔥🔥
NICE BRO
Thanks man
Maybe that 2 advance for audience
Stock rods and piston ge vvti😨 pray for you
No, they are gte piston and rods
