    In this video I show and explain a detailed step-by-step process I follow when assembling the bottom end on any engine. All of my bearing clearances were checked prior to this video and were all within spec. This video does not show how to check your bearing clearances so make sure you do that before assembling your engine.

    Excellent detail showing tabs on bearings and thrust washer grooves. These are the little details that will help me remember. Well done!

    what main bearings did you buy? trying to find the correct "mark number" for my block number and crank shaft number.

      @@seanjanda4460 I used ACL race bearings. STD size for my application. Best to measure it all to verify the sizes.

    There's a couple thing I think you should have done... #1 ATF transmission fluid should be used to clean the cylinder wall because transmission fluid has a cleaner inside.. #2 always check the bearing clearance with plastic gauge it's better to be safe than sorry Evan when machine shop says it's in spec it's always better to see the clearance yourself so there's no doubt about it..

    • @TripasGarage
      @TripasGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Appreciate the feedback. The clearances were all checked with a micrometer, dial bore gauge, and plastigauge prior to this video. ATF was used on the cylinder walls as well on a previous video. Thank you for the info.

    Love the content so far. Just curious. I want to say you’re reusing pistons. Did you get them cleaned using some kind of liquid like Chen dip, or blasting in a cabinet with soda media. I’m looking to refresh my block and want to know what I should be looking out for and your video is exactly what I needed. Keep it up!

    • @TripasGarage
      @TripasGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Rods doesn’t matter as they are all within spec is being the same weight from Toyota. Just make sure the correct caps go on with the correct rod. They have markings on the side, line them up.

    Nice content!... Quick question, what bearings did you decided to go with for the Rods and Mains? And were the thrust washers OEM?

    • @TripasGarage
      @TripasGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Appreciate it. I went with a standard size bearing for both main and rod. I used ACL H series for both and ACL standard thrust washers
