I spend a LOT OF TIME on TH-cam. Way more than my wife would like me to. So it's with some considerable emphasis when I say that Project Binky is my favourite TH-cam show. I always get excited when I get an email from patron to tell me the episode is due to be released! And I enjoy every minute of it. You guys are the bees knees! Thank you!
I am so jealous of the people who have only just discovered or will discover BOM and Project Binky. They have so much amazing content to look forward too... Also, it is awesome to know, all over the world, people have had TH-cam notification appear on their phone or computer that has genuinely made them excited to sit down for 30 minutes to laugh and learn along with two very capable performance car specialists. I have to say that for a couple of motorsport enthusiasts from Shropshire... You two blokes are amazingly natural in front of the camera. Thank you for sharing the mistakes as well as the wins Gents! Every episode is worth its wait in gold.
I make do by simply watching the entire series a couple time every time a new episode is posted. I think I’m on about 10 or 11 times through now. If you’re curious, it’s still just as good on #10 as it was on #2... only now it makes more sense.

Having binge watched 14 episodes over the last day and a half... I need more! Having screwed together a Ford Anglia powered by a Mitsubishi Legnum VR-4 engine, and my dad before that a Subaru-powered 4WD Anglia (not the Impreza turbo lump, but the old EA-81), we're not doing any insane projects ourselves at the moment, so this has whet my appetite for whatever we decide to do next!!
I think people forget that these guys have a day job too, they don't just spend all their time making Binky and have paying customers bringing work to them - I can imagine even more so since these videos came out. Patience is a virtue.
The production values are high in this one! Love the new style shots, picture quality is mint. I didn't think you could top the 3rd leg gag from Episode 10, but Nick's ACME hole is on a par. LMFAO. Um. Roll on EP15?!

I've got an '04 WRX that's a bit rough around the edges. When I feel depressed about the amount of work I've put in and still have left to do, I watch these videos and realise I've got nothing to complain about. As always, another great vid! Anyone complaining about the infrequency of the content, pull your head out of your arse and try and do better. I don't know anyone that's more or less built a car from scratch on weekends, while maintaining full time work and family life, and are generous enough to share the project for free. Keep up the great work boys!

Tried your example in an earlier episode for welding two single skin panels on a 1965 woodie countryman i'm doing, never done that type of joint before and it worked like a dream. The detail you go into is invaluable. Looking forward to ep 15.
You know that proper british film about real minis.. Well as Croker walks through the garage where the Minis are being prepared, we hear that "Rozzer's having trouble with his differential", and the back of the red Mini Cooper is jacked up where Rozzer is working. This is an inside joke since the Mini has front-wheel drive and does not have a rear differential. In the early 1960s, front-wheel-drive cars were new and asking a car mechanic to repair a Mini's rear differential was a popular snipe hunt apparently... enjoyed this latest undramatised episode but I'm really hoping for more soon.. oh and if I can get the £1.24 in change from my centre consoles ashtray and fuse breaking cigarette lighter socket your welcome to it.
I always really enjoy your episodes on Binky, I love the level of detail and thinking that is being gone into and shared. It's great the project has come so far and will be a shame to see it finished - I'm sure you guys have at least 21 a few future ideas to keep us entertained!
I wholeheartedly approve the good use of Engineering terms like "Waggling around like a prick in a sock". Its up there with "like tying a ship to a hedge" and "empty vessels make the most noise"

You know what I like most about this project? The quality. 3 years ago, most of the drivetrain was in the car. Now you are working on the wheel arches. Quality takes time :)
The comedy is absolutely spot on! I worked on Press Maintenance in BMW Mini press shop in Swindon for 17 years and worked with a great bunch of lads who were all very competent at what they done but all the time that sense of humour was present. The German overlords would consider it very unprofessional but I think it's what makes this country such a wonderful place to work. Loving it!
Completed all the Mark Evans builds, and searched the web for tips on full resto/build videos, not simply slideshows of completed ones, nor compressed 5 days "builds" containing one bracket fabrication & some glossy paint. First tip on some random page was Project Binky - and dang was it the motherload of build/fabrication videos! Christmas came two weeks early! Watched all 14 episodes in two sittings, now in a vacum for more. Sooo much more entertaining & satisfying seeing this kind of work, opposed to crap like West Coast Customs and like. Keep up the excellent work, and tea drinking! Subscribed.

It looks at though you are going to join fuel hard lines to the bottom of the bulkhead connector via compression fittings. Lining that up will be fun. A -8 PTFE feed line is a lot of fuel. I'm more suspicious that you are building an E85 compatible fuel system. Looking forward to seeing the engine wired and the management used.
Indeed.. I'm hoping for a proper FreeEMS from DIYEFI, same as WikiSpeed is now using. They are waiting for someone to fit it with a fuel mixture sensor so they can get onto programming it for flexi-fuel functionality. Would do this project justice for sure.
Caly P. Tratus It's been a few years since I looked at FreeEMS so I just wandered over to the website. On the site I can't seem to find any schematics, actually neither can Google. I remember the project from the old DIYEFI discussion list (of which I am still a member, but haven't seen anything in a while). As much as I support these projects, personally I wouldn't be willing to run what is essentially a prototype on a high output engine that is expected to be reliable long term in daily driver use. I'm curious to see what Bad Obsession will choose, and would feel remised if I did not point out that there are plug and play Megasquirts designed to run that engine on a stock harness. Or more properly, wire something like the MS3-Pro in from scratch. Hell, I'd almost volunteer to fly across the pond and assist if they are uncomfortable with the wiring...Wait, did I just say that?

I absolutely loved the "Roadrunner and Coyote" reference at 6:58. I makes my heart glow to know the people all over the world enjoy the same sort of humour. It made me think of the flow of Japanese Manga into the United States in the last 30 years, until it is common now among teens.
Ah, The good old Acme hole. I have a box of square and round ones in assorted sizes in the garage. Ideal for getting at pipes and electrics under the floor if things go wrong. Absolutely brilliant craftsmanship going into the Mini. Keep up the good work.

Don't worry, it will take a while to finish this up. There is a lot of work left. I will be very interesting to see where they fit all of the pieces they originally pulled off the engine to get it to fit.
