Quod erat demonstrandum, they did whatever it was with a nose and cone.... ??
I love it. I can’t wait to see it painted! Imagine seeing all the brackets hung up for paint. You’ll probably have more time into painting them and all the interior panels than you will the chassis 😂. Keep up the good work guys!
It really took this episode to let the insanity of that whole undertaking sink in (and I've been watching it from the beginning). Hats off to you fine gentleman!
That was great and what made it even better was it was totally unexpected as no long since the previous. Watching from my hospital bed at the moment so a great pick me up. Thanks guys.
Hi Lads. The next time you want to cut a cable you could add some solder to the cable, it will prevent the cable from fraying if you cut it with the angle grinder. something to think about. I have enjoyed watching these videos since almost the beginning. Classic Minis have always been one of my favorite cars. So when I found your channel almost 5 years ago I was very happy. You do something almost no channels do, you show all of the work. Its not one of those bollocks, "This car was stripped, engine totally rebuilt and painted inside and out in five episodes in less than three months! See how Easy it is!" This represents a totally unreal picture of building a project car. Your channel shows what two guys can do working weekends, and taking the time to film it. Five years plus is what it takes, unless you have unlimited financial resources, and can pay to have the work done. if you can find a good shop who doesn't have a waiting list, to have the work done. Even painting a car takes time. The job is only as good as the preparation. Preparation is ninety percent of the job. Sanding takes time, unless you you want a bollocks job. After painting comes color sanding, and polishing of the clear coat. Then polishing, and swirl removing. After that, Ceramic coat, and if you care about your paint, PPF. Paint protection film protects from bug splatter, rock chips, etc, and is ussualy applied to the entire front end and the mirrors.In between, there is time for the primer to dry, the paint to dry the clear coat to harden. The point is this all takes time., yours is one of the only channels that shows that in a realistic light. I thought this was going to be a daily driver for Mick, after all that custom fabrication rallying this could completely destroy all that hard work. If there is a possibility of ending up on its roof in a ditch, you should fit a six point roll cage before you even think about rallying this mini, and before you paint the interior, unless you want to ruin the interior paint. You should sand blast the running gear, the suspension components, and paint them with epoxy primer and paint , so when the Mini comes back from paint you can assemble it into a fished car. The bottom of the car will have to be painted on a rotisserie and should be done first. Assuming you are going to paint the interior the same color as the exterior the interior, the boot, and the door sills should be painted first, and clear coated. After they are dry, then you do the exterior. Have you had any luck getting someone to let you scan parts from the MG Rover project? Crack on Lads! Love this channel!

Dudes... I got the Big Lebowski reference there!
These videos truly are superlative, sir. With just two minor flaws. One, some people have downvoted. And two, some people have downvoted.
Now I realise that technically speaking that's only one flaw but I thought that it was such a big one that it was worth mentioning twice.
11:20 - the writing on the ring says: one ring to cut them all, one ring to strip them all and with TIG welder bind them.
"Septic measurement" was fantastic!

I have a 1958 Lambretta that is set to take as long as this fab job, i have been watching this since i moved to costa rica, for three years, and now returned to the states three years!
"The bracket needs a bracket."
...of course it does.
Gee whiz!
I was having a good day until I saw this pop up, now it is a great day.

I was hoping to see a picture of you two
Plenty of milling machine envy here! And general skills envy - taking out the tea and staring, it's takes me 10x to do anything...inspiring stuff! Stay warm in there.
"we did a nose and a hat".
Thank f*** for that.
haha, was wondering about that one too :D
I translated before I read the comments
Fecit can also mean made, still awaiting a proper translation from my niece
Yes we do need some clarity on this..
They did whatever they were referring to with a nose and cone bearing more likely......
Nos = We
Facit = from the verb facio meaning to create, make, bring forth
Per = via, by way of
Nasum = Nose
Et = and
Petasum = from Patatis for a wide brimmed hat, or crucially, something cone shaped / conical.

Loved it. As always! :) Looking forward to see it in its final colors.
Traditional racing green I hope, yeah?
