How's it compare to ac delco

Probably just as good, AC Delco has really dropped in quality on alot of its filters when Whip City Wrencher opens them up and disects them...Just Sayin

Especially if your OCI is much lower than SupetTech's advertised OCI.

AC Delco filters are made by Champ Labs. Super Tec filters are made by CHamp Labs, same filter.@@KillerKolt44

Used super tech on my Mazda and Honda pacific Coast motor cycle,no complaints! A standard filter at 1/2 the cost! Made in USA! Not China, food for thought!

Additionally, I found out through having my used engine oil analyzed that simply ensuring the engine air filter fits securely within engine air filter housing can go a long way towards reducing the amount of particulate contamination found in your engine oil. The oil filter by definition simply filters out contaminants present in your engine oil.

Good content and easy to understand. I would clarify that micron rating of "20" has the following context - "FRAM Group testing of average filter efficiency of PH8A, 3387A and 4967 or equivalent FRAM TG or XG models under ISO 4548-12 for particles greater than 20 microns." per the FRAM specs for TG10358. Pretty sure the intended context is the same for those cartridge oil filters rated at 30 microns.

So can you use full synthetic oil with the supertech filter?

  • @mattbills3228

Given the information presented, I am going to give the Walmart Supertech cartridge oil filter a try after I use up my two existing K & N PS-series oil filters. Also, going to see if Mobil1 Truck & SUV 0W-20 Full Synthetic gives different oil analysis results than the Valvoline Advanced Full Synthetic 0W-20 used for last oil change.

I don't get the disgust with the Toyota oem. The recommended oil change interval is either 5 or 6k miles which is below the 7.5k mile rating on the filter. Has anyone ever had problems with sludge or build up when using similar quality oil filters at regular pic of 5 or 6k miles? Would be interested to find out.

  • @tinamcgarrah7794
    @tinamcgarrah7794 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

That is a pretty good deal on the Fram because it is a 20 micron rating. If you are dealing with older engines or a clean up of an unknown previous maintenance , that better filter rating, counts...

Best oil filter I ever used? Bosch Distance Plus...but they are not cheap. The heavier the filter the thicker the media which cleans the oil more thoroughly. Bosch DISTANCE PLUS. Hard to find but worth it!

I was thinking Fram Ultra might be best, but worried about the flow rate. I think the best conclusion is to use an oil with the best flow rate/price to make up for a restricted oil filter. Nate's Interactive and Project Farm on TH-cam put the oils to the test with 16 oil championship match. I was surprised about the Super Tech and think that would be a great oil flow filter/low cost.

The super tech oil filter for my car doesn’t appear to have a bypass valve, so I would never use one. It’s not a good idea to cheap out on an oil filter.

Canister oil filters don't have a bypass valve. The bypass is in the canister cap.

I currently have a Fram Tough Guard on my 13 Camry (Cartage filter) I think they are much better filters then the Toyota OE filters. Next oil change I am going to use a Fram Ultra Guard cartage filter. I do not really worry about the cost of the filter, an extra $5.00 is peanuts compared to the cost of a damaged engine from a week or bad filter. Thank you for doing a review on Cartage filters. Not many people have done a good one like this!

Who needs a 20,000 mile filter,I surely wouldn't reuse the filter at oil change. Like paying for 2 weeks at a hotel and only staying 1 week.

Strange that Toyota filter is only good for 7500 miles since Toyota says to change the oil and filter every 10,000 miles.

This guy doesn't get tired of talking nonsenses, if it's not the oil filters, is the engine oil, he always finds some nonsense to tell, if it's not high mileage oil is useless, it's the oil filters that don't work, it's always something.
