I do a lot of drift cars and we had a lot of belt dropping issues because of the alternator. Use a free-runner (sometimes called free wheel) on it. I do the Volkswagen one on 2JZ-s and the problem is gone forever. Easy and cheap constant fix. And keep up doing these videos :D
Agreed, these clutched pulleys turned up first on TDIs iirc as the inertia of the alternator would shake the crank pulley off! There's also one used on some of the VAG V6 engines which is slightly larger than the diesel versions so you don't spin the alternator quite so fast, part number 078903119G.
Any specific VW or do you have a partno?
@@IngeBall You mean for the 2JZ?
@@RMStuningaruhaz Yeah
@@IngeBallgoogle "Overrunning alternator pulley" to see many, but most VAG cars from mid 2000s have these, here's an example 021903119G
wow, this is not a low maintenance volvo by any means... I truly admire your stamina in paddling through all the work required to keep it going. Thank you for sharing.
06:19 THE SOUND,, 👍🥰👍
Cheers Peter,, ☕😋🍰
Nice update on the Volvoghini, thanks Peter! That doghnut was absolute epic visual and sound as well :D You have quite a long to-do list, I hope it will go easily. And hope the engine survived the dropped belt or at least there is no major damage....fingers crossed! Thanks for video!
(Word 'Kardán' is also used In Hungarian - kardán tengely - for the drive shaft, and also use - kardán kereszt - for the actual cross joint in the shaft)
Nice to see an update on the OG Volvoghini- saw it in the background earlier in the year.
That is literally the coolest Volvo in the world
Keep it going! Would be nice see the 245 drifting on a lake!
Love this car so much, Peter please do an Amazon Volvo one day in your style.
always a good day when you make upload. thank you so much for all your work. hope i get to make a roadtrip over the pond to sweden to meet you in some of the many car shows.

Uppskattar allt du gör Peter, du inspirerar mig med dina videos.
Good Luck Peter, hope your engine is ok. I think it's a very stylish car, very cool and true to the badge. The dog is cool too, always enjoy seeing his little face.
6.30 mins legend
Confirmed legendary
That noise is from the cams and rockers. It can only be oil pressure issues feeding the valve gear if after a while it goes away. I would test cold and also just because pressure is good, doesn’t mean there isn’t a partial blockage somewhere. Could also be as simple as the oil is thicker when cold. I have built one of these engines and did have a rocker thrown off and rattling around, but it was worse than that and didn’t go away.
I love that you're calling it a cardan in Swedish (I'm French)!
In French, most people will use it for a CV joint as well, even though the cardan is a simpler device.
This guy is fearless!
You mad bastard! Such a sick engine conversion!
Always loved the shitty rear door fitment of those Volvo estates where they used the salon door that drops down despite the roof line continuing.
Great video and information. Generally speaking in the UK we call those particular prop shaft joints Hardy Spicer. They ideally should be in pairs and at 90 degrees to each other, to provide a more consistent transmission
Well, you’ve got some welding to do! Good luck with keeping the cars in shape! 😊
In bulgarian is "кардан", which is also means "kardan" for drive shaft.
Just an idea to get the car into the garage. Two ball couplers boltet together with at beam then you can connect two cars with their tow hooks and drive the brooken car into the garage.
I love that car. So happy you decided not to paint it.
On a good note, means more videos on this beautiful sounding beast.
The Swedish name for the cardan joint is Polhemsknut (Polhems knot) after the swedish inventor/industrialist Christoffer Polhem. The Cardan joint has many inventors going back tousends of years.
love this car man, awesome to see it on the road! G G 's!
extra sleeper suggestion; silver wheels for extra 'stock' look (optional leave outer ring black to make it appear smaller and some hub caps and fake rust on them..? love it! )
Vilket gött ljud de är den spisen👍👍
Really hope you haven’t got two broken engines, for your mental state :) Though for viewing….. :) :) Only joking, as you say, one is more than enough! Keep battling on with it Peter, it’ll be worth it in the end.
Run the dry pump with a drill and then check for debres in the filter window.
Som vanligt en bra video! Keep it up 💪🏻
2:18 probably not enough oil feed to the hydraulic lifters. Could be some particle partly blocking oil feed. A good engine flush can help usually.
as rms said, learnt this from my dad that sort of engine noise that comes and goes away... Alternator is always my first suspect, after that other items with bearings. Localize with listening equipment.
good luck for your engine ! keep us in touch 😬😬
Cool editing👌🏻
Nice to see new content !
Its also called Kardan at BMW-Bikes and in german speaking countries.
Greetings!
I love the old 5.0 V10 😍
#FDBPerformance a de la concurrence 😂🎉❤
Hey up Peter thanks for the update my hilux prop shaft is similar but the universal joint (carden) is a double one, 2004, and at the back a single carden. Good video your style seems to be super hi tec with a mix of low tec which i love
Forgot to say but the roads ov Sweden must look fab with all those black lines
5:50 Wał Kardana in polish, Cardans shaft 🤠
This car sound sooo good!
Kul med update! 😍
pls get a tripod , and move the cam a bit slower !
top notch Volvoghini :D
I don't think oil is going to have much of an affect inside the plugs.
We put oil in them on purpose to stop water!
Oils non conductive so it doesn't matter unless it's highly contaminated
I have heard of broken ECU because of a faulty Oil pressure sensor. It pumped some oil into it and with it some fine metal shavings.
@@hulkgqnissanpatrol6121 BMW things
Great update!
Is Dutch it's also a "cardanas"
06:21 Helvete vad den låter sjukt fint!
Like to see this go round the nurbergring !
The problem with oil in a lambda Sensor Plug is that the Sensor gets its reference air through the Isolation Like a tube. The oil seels it.
put the belt back on. Run it a little, drain some oil and check it out. You might have got lucky 🤞
If you’re considering changing gearbox, one from E9X M3 or E6X M5 should handle the rpm as they are highrevving engines.
Minns videon när du hade supra motorn i 245:an "M5 hunting" tror den videon är typ 11 år gammal riktig klassiker damma av m5:an fint😂 gött å se att du har kvar pärlan👍
Nice videos, keep it up
Yeah, you have to drop the pan and check the bearings. You race this car, if it throws a rod through the block while you're going fast you could wind up with oil under your tires and that doesn't end well see what happened to nivlac57's dad when his Volvo blew up on the strip.
Love the Volvoghini.
Could you make a video about the rear axle? What kind of wheel bearings and axle shafts are you using?
Nice update. Too bad about the oil nilly nags in the engine bay.
Thx for the "cardan"
Keep it up. 😢❤
Cardan shaft is a pretty common term in the US
Tjenare Peter
Rear silencer seems to be extremely close to fuel tank. Please put at least some reflect-a-gold tape there.
Some of E46 came with similiar driveshafts with cv joint and universal joint. 😄
Should’ve watched further, seems like you already got the answer from professionals 😂
Sounds better than the LFA 😮😂
in estonian driveshaft is also called "kardaan"
Would like to see the old chrome bumpers on the car
Dear peter
Any update on the R8.?
Hope you're doing fine.
Are the tarps under all the cars in the pits for possible drips? Guessing that's required there..? Interesting.
Yes some rule for the environment.
Vad använder du för obd varvräknare? Jag söker själv något liknande
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
What connectors would you recommend for an engine loom 10 pin plug? Deutsch or are there better ones? 🙂👍🏻
Shame the mid engine V10 version is not ready to be drifted through snow covered Swedish forest roads with the V10 on full song
you have snow already up there in Sweden?
👍
Cool videos you are making, but I must say that those fragile VAG engines are not really reliable or they don't sound even close to what a angry 2jz does. The old Volvo needs a 2jz and maybe 4x4?
Schysst italiensk gödsel-spridare motor. 🚜🚜🚜🚜
In Germany its Kardanwelle
how much cost the insurance and tax in sweden for a 800HP car per year ?! and for 100hp or 200hp ?
Can you get this car ready for Hardass1000 Australia 2025, its drag drive event
💯👍👍👍👍👌
👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Vad är det för bakaxel?
just send it ;) its a Volvo brick
Georborghina Verbaan?
it really needs a better way of putting down all that power
You mean Axel Kardan?
2:05 that's just the inner red block coming out
❤️🔥🫂❤️🔥

Volvorghini?
There are jobs that you must buy....instead of doing yourself...its a rule....you may want to be the jack of all trades...but on that performance...you must pay for some jobs...
Mellom Aksel 😂
Change the displacement to something more realeble
Sounds angry
hey dude is this the same Engine Block you welded some years ago ???? by the way you car looks realy cool nice car
Yes it is the welded engine block!
These engines are far too fragile, i get the noise bit but a 2 valve, pushrod Viper V10 makes 1000hp with very simple tech. Im not hating either, I love this wagon but the engines always seem to let the project down.
