- While the snare drums were being tuned, the snareline found a big wood plank and placed it on top of two benches on the side of the stadium. Played a few warmups along with two parts of the 2010 book. Enjoy!
P.S. there is also background commentary from two phantom snareline alums. James Figuredo (08) and Dustin Doelling (05-08)
That's the most action that wood's gonna get for years.
Euphonium Downs what about my morning wood? ;)
I think the value of that plank just went up.
💵👆💵
And to think it was probably left somewhere in the dump over a decade ago
Why can't all wooden planks be this good for playing on? Rennick has got these guys practicing on everything.
For real! I barely found the video of the FENCE!
Drumming on wood, such an articulate surface and its still piss clean.
👌🔥⚡🥁⚡🔥👌
Paul Rennick obviously tuned that plank of wood to hide the dirt
Surprised this plank never caught fire, especially with all that heat!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
thats why they won drums
I wish our wooden plank line sounded this clean. lol
A new meaning to the saying that surface is so clean you can eat off of it
I like how their rimshots sound like rimshots even when they play on a wooden plank lol
on the first day of HS drum camp, our percussion teacher, a UNT graduate, had us play 8 on a hand on the cafeteria tables very much this way until we could sound clean. Then we got to play the drums.
The tape on their sticks is made from Mr. Clean's Magic Erasure
taking desk tapping to a whole new level!!
Why do the rim shots sounds good lmao
It really does sound like one plywood.
If only the rest of the corps had matched the drums. This is somewhat similar to 27th Lancers in 84 or Bridgemen in 83...it was the drums that got them into finals the last years they were in.
I like how everyone collectively jizzes at 0:23.
that 5let at 1:09 is pretty sick.
⚡👌🔥❤️🥁😇🥁❤️🔥👌⚡
This whole book still hits hard 13 years later especially 0:21
Thank you for sharing this!!
dirt finder 3000, and no dirt in sight
@guitarxgodx100 Maybe because they dropped from 1st place in 2010 to 7th in 2011. I'm not sure, but they don't have very good consistency in placing high. But I think that can be said for the entire corps.
2010 was Rennick’s last year at Phantom he went to SCV in 2011
Smackin down those threes at 1:35 😂😂😂😂👌
Yup, I totally agree with that vis at the very end. mm mm mmm
These men are fabulous ;)
@Wahl95
Probably didn't help that their caption head left in 2011.
Don't you love it when people don't know what they're talking about?
@@cosmodrum1 Scvregiment
@guitarmansegovia No, it was James
Definitely James Fig
around 0:29 was that a little snare solo part of the show?
No. He was playing the tenor part to keep place in the music.
nice
Well done!!
damn
they are awsome for playing on that. lol
shit, are they even capable of producing dirt? :p
no its, physically impossible
No, its*
No, it's*
Incorrect correction?
I can't believe the internet hasn't caught this yet..
Secondary option.
No! It's....*
Hahah yes, that last visual be the center snare
because one of their techs were probably doing it or even rennick himself. and plus its more consistent when one person does it.
Gosh Dan... Snare drum just isn't enough for you, huh?
NOT EVEN MARKING TIME!! lol XD 0:38
While the snares were being tuned? Why aren't they doing it? That's the way it was where I marched anyway
Because drum techs and consistency. The less ears you have tuning multiple drums, the more uniform the sound is.
who the fuck!! :47
haha
why y'all wearing diapers
