Keelan has one pair of quick hands.... WOW. A COMMAND PERFORMANCE KEELAN! Even the backsticking and other movements you used in your routines were very well executed and well played. Really enjoyed watching you play! AMAZING! I can't imagine him and Brandon Olander in the same drumline!
This young man is extremely talented on drums. To all you haters for all your negative comments, you all are just jealous of his talents. He has a God given talent that's undeniable. Jealousy gets you no where in life!!! To this young man, keep up the great work and keep playing hard.
At 3:17 he is doing something old school. Jeff Prosperie would do this in his warm ups and solos. I believe it is a singled handed five. Keelan has incredible sound quality on this, most of the time you can make it out. not to mention the speed is impressive. Learning this is a matter of being relaxed and just pushing the notes out.
Great! Not only a technical acrobatic show. That boy is also a musician...! In this way is that one if the best drumming performence I saw until now. Thanks for the video!
Sadly, in 2022, the 50th Anniversary of DCI, the braintrust behind the organization decided to quietly eliminate the I&E completion altogether. Thanks to Keelan and so many other Blue Devil drummers who kept the tradition alive for as long as they could. If not for Scott Johnson, the Individual compeition would've likely died long ago.
When you think you've seen them all there's always one that comes right behind one another which is the better then the rest for what I seen this is the main reason schools need the Performing Arts great job kid you going places👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍🎶🎵
@@rtanidean4931 I think you everybody don't want to be a athlete or the next R&B singer the next rapper or the next Hollywood star put this type of art performance in schools this will lead to shows Broadway and Beyond
delterbluesman Not sure I get your comment, but this kid is amazing!! Yes, we all should be fighting for “The Arts” in all aspects of schools and sharing these talents with the world! Thx.
It's known to manifest a high pitched, high tensioned sound, along with manifesting a brief buzz sound, ideal for marching activities, known for its loud, powerful, and piercing sound.
Today is I and E 2015... One can only hope that someone (Brandon Olander) can pull off a solo as sick as this. But a Blue Devil has won every snare I and e since like the beginning of time (don't look that up that fact predates technology) so that should continue
THIS NIGGA TO MUCH FIRE BOI!!!! IMA SNARE DRUMMER MYSELF.. LOOKN AT THIS MAKES ME WANA UP MY GAME EVEN MOREE!!! SALUTE TO YOU HOMMIEE!! Best ive EVER SEEN, NO LIE!!
This video is 10 years old and it looks like it was filmed today. Wow!
Here's to the next 10 years!
I remember this was one of the first high quality stuff I ever saw on youtube
Beginning: trying to start a lawn mower lol, this is great work though
Especially on times 2 speed
Anyone else think the finish of their drums that year are absolutely gorgeous?
Lmao. This caught me off guard, but damn what a great comment
He handled that mistake so well. This dude's got some serious reflexes.
For real!
i swear yeen aint lyin! only by visual can u tell, by audio its flawless
Almighty Riley no, it’s a little off time when he comes back in
@@russ6541 Just a jazzy off beat (?)
Unbelievable reflexes 💪🏾.. maybe the crowd got to him when they were real loud for a few seconds.
Stan Lee's scouting the next Marvel Avenger in the background
I'm crying on how perfect this comment is
don't be crying on my comment nilla
the new York times. the only one of my favorite. I am a beautiful day in the
Aidan Porter xDDDD
STAN LEE: all right lets see: he's fast, he can roast the shit out of other snare drummers, and he's black....PERFECT!
The balls of this solo are hanging all the way out and swinging above all other solos.
Primal Concrete Sledge THAT YOUNG MAN HAS A HOT PAIR OF STICKS THAT DO ALL HIS TALKING FOR HIM

I met him at the System Blue camp in 2018. He was an instructor there, and he was really cool.
Love this guy. This isn't even the best I've seen of him; he deserves his spot.
He messed on a stick flip but recovered so icy😎❄️

This is sick! Props to to the kid who played it.
+Blue Dogeh do you play?
BlueDogeh. 👌
Love his ability to groove and really perform the heck out of the solo. He conversed with audience's cheers brilliantly
Ahhh, the good ole 10 second lick @3:03. Legendary. I remember being in high school trying to learn that 😂😂😂never could I ever play it like him.
Stan Lee in the back observing Keelan's powers. He about to turn him into a Marvel superhero with them hands lmfao
Cornelius Seremptus Well, at least you tried
Mah Nilla
Rip Stanley
Came here to make sure the top comment was about Stan Lee. Not disappointed at all.
This guy should definitely look into auditioning for the Blue Devils 🤔
(I’m jk of course)
sdjmalik come on, phantom is where it is at.
I love phantom regiment with all my heart but bd is the real🔥
Yo big fan just watched your double stroke rolls reallll not buzz👽🥁👽
Bro you should of been in this compititon😆 . I think you be a good match.
Southern would like him
them drumsticks are going so fast we need to upgrade from 60FPS to 120FPS
phinex 009 ours eyes can't detect it either lol.... our brain doesn't have the fps to watch
gray rey dood he was just talking about the fact that the sticks are going too fast to see even in 60fps
RIP headphone users whenever the crowd screams x.x
The hype...that’s what makes I&E a great event! For players who are killing it, the hype adds energy!
I wish TH-cam still had star rating system cuz he would have got a strayed 5
At 3:17 he is doing something old school. Jeff Prosperie would do this in his warm ups and solos.

Mans has some amazing wrist control
elegance, speed, power, precision, musicality... breathtaking!
I swear this mans recovery is 🔥, and in the beginning of the solo he really shows he has FULL CONTROL WITH THOSE HIGH RIGHT STROKES AAAA!
Hands down one of the best solos
1:26 is amazing
1:26 the pimp slap
Great! Not only a technical acrobatic show. That boy is also a musician...! In this way is that one if the best drumming performence I saw until now. Thanks for the video!
That snare sounds badass!!!!! And Keelan playing it makes it sound a million times better!!!!!!!!!!!🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
the buzz at 2:10 😭😭🔥

Neat
It's like a ZRRRRT. I love doing that on my marching snare

ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!! This kid is PHENOMENAL!! 🥁🥇🏅🏆
the guy sitting down watching intensely is like "in my day it was all about who could play the best 5 stroke roll"

Keelan Tobia doesn't just have chops...he has a gift.
this guy is awesome
He plays with a lot of feel and grace
Pound for pound one of da best snare drummers
That's my homie right there. So much quality in that playing. Proud of this boy.

THAT'S ONE HOT SET OF DRUM STICKS DOING SOME SERIOUS TALKING
That drum is beautiful
I'm only a guard guy but this guy ROCKS! Bravo!
Dang!!! Well done young master. Whew!! What’s this lad doing now? I’m a huge fan indeed. Thx for video
my snare tech in high school said that this was the only solo he enjoyed. i couldn't agree more with him. :P
Those singles were unreal...
Wow great solo! 1:26 is crazy!
MY SPEAKERS ARE BLOWN BECAUSE THIS SOLO IS TOO AWESOME FOR THEM TO HANDLE!
Nice recovery on the near miss stick flip.Darn good.
One good thing about being a percussionist is that when you're nervous your wrists get faster lol
C'est du bon bon ça. Wow. Congratulations
Eres increíble saludos desde Panamá city
Amazing. little brother got some serious chops.
@2:57 he even copied the sound of my dirtbike. Kudos.
If you play this is 2x speed it’s even more impressive!
The performance was so incredibly Wonderful!!!!!😄😄😄
unbelievably clean!
I uh, I'ma go cry now. Haven't seen someone so amazing with traditional grip. My God. We have a new Buddy Rich on the marching snare.
This kid has some freakin chops! Holy crap!
0:48 to 1:33 might be the most musical segment of a snare solo I've ever seen

Wasn't this the highest scoring solo yet?
+Michelle Williams his 2012 one is.
uhh jeff queen won i&e back in 1994
The reason why because a lot of Blue Devil's win I&E's is because I&E is ran by the Blue Devils soooo..
Emmanuel DeLeon from SCV won in 08

I love the old school way you hold your left drum stick. I am a woman who played in school in the 1960s. Not very well though.
his solo is fun to watch! go keelan!
his solo insipired me to get third in the talent show at my school
awesome drumming. awesome solo.
Are the crowd reactions overdubs? They sound like they're being tortured.
Talento de mais❤️🎼🎼🎼
The Facial expressions and the moving of his jaw (instensity like this has never been seen before) lol
😳 Woah. Consider me blown away!
Definitely a totally blessed guy.. 👍
I like the part when he hits the drum
I’m surprised to see this comment was 9 years because this type of joke is very common on TH-cam more recently
Excellent job sir!!!
I am humbled by this video...
You know you're good when the centre snare stands up and claps for you
don't believe I've seen quality like this since the '90s o_o
at 1:56 this is the only thing that lets us know hes still human
RESPEKT!
MikeCraft that recovery was insane tho
The second coming of Jeff Queen, fer cryin' out loud! Fargin' remarkable. :)
best video quality i think i've seen on youtube, closest to being there in real life!
youre a G when you get a standing ovation from people on the ground.
Super incrível, muito bom
wouldnt be surprised if theyre some signature keelan sticks someday
I just love sitting in the background is drum corps legend Pete Emmons just hanging out.
Chops is an understatement...
Thanks, kid. That was great.
Keelan Tobia, teaching us that speed doesn't matter..... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
That was a good one.
@silfner1 the term "chops" applies to anyone who plays an instrument. Having the endurance to play well for long periods of time is considered chops.
Holy shit. That is actually otherworldly.
description nailed it
This is the best kid drummer i ever saw
He's brilliant!
Shoutout my roommate.
