drew guy is a sexy beast. :D he inspired me to learn snare and play this book. when they come to murfreesboro, my band has the option to go around and watch a corp of our choice and this year i pick the bluecoats, especially the drumline. im a guard girl, but this is exciting for me. even better cuz their opening song is our closer. :D
@percussiontech1 the bass visual is shown very clearly in a vid called "Bluecoats Opener Finals Night 2010" at about 2:35...the vid looks darkish....in grass...and snare lined up.....if u watch it and skip to that part...u can learn....it only took me a few times of watching it to learn it, good luck!
I didn't audition for Bluecoats but for most drum corps its all about your work effort. Yeah talent is a factor but that can and will improve. If you aren't willing to push yourself and keep your head in the game they wont want you in their corps. Just be prepared to get your ass kicked the first camp. Even vets (though they may not admit it) will struggle keeping heavy horns up and will be just as sore as you are on Sunday. You gotta use the force and power through it.
1:37 "He's gay....we're gay...so gay...all gay." hahaha the vocals are hilarious (there's many more). oh bluecoats drumline...i wish i could ever be that cool.
@skaterfan105 im on lavergne guard. :P but im in the process of drumline lessons. what do you play? since the whole band goes to DCI together, we have the option of getting our tickets early and the day of the competition, we can travel around and watch corps practice at schools before the head to MTSU. like last year, I watched Santa Clara practice all day until it was time for them to drive over to MTSU.
@saidincontent percussionists not drummers.... " We are not drummers, we are musicians that happen to play percussion." -Brian Zator, Texas a&m Commerse
did anyone notice the group behind the 1st bass was playing ninja in the opening? i saw them playing and i was like haha playing ninja to bluecoats music ftw!!!!!
Hello, I am a Junior in high school interested in auditioning. I play tuba, and I play sousaphone in my school's marching band, which has a National Class title in New York. I was wondering if anyone that has played in this group before could tell me more about how good you have to be to make it into the Bluecoats. Any help is much appreciated!
This is why I love the Bluecoats. You can tell these guys are just having so much fun while playing, and it makes it even more fun to watch.
"like a bosss!"
I love Blue Coats.
I swear every time I watch them, my heart pounds. I wish I was as good as Drew Guy forreal.
. It's 2015 and I still love all their visuals and vocals. Lol!
Imagine if 360 cameras existed in 2010.
I love it how he just knocks drews stick away
Matt Malabonga (ex crossmen quad drummer) shows a tutorial for the nunchuk visual thats really easy to pick up on. Took me about 10 minutes.
this drumline is the prime example of how in a drum corps you can be badass and play clean while still having fun!
Someone get me a napkin because that book was tasty

This is the most beautiful thing
Oh my god. That bass lick at 1:16 gives me every time.
buzz buzz buzz buzz....gotta love buzz rolls
That "Ya" at the nunchuck makes me crack up every time I watch this.
coats always have the best vocals
on those buzzes bass 5's like "aww come on 1 and 2 help me out. i have VIRTUALLY NO REBOUND"
@snaregurl15 Yeah, that's her. Someone said she played set for Pulse in '09, too.
"so girrrl, get your mouth away from my..."
If only 360 cams existed in 2010!
Sickest vocals/visuals ever!

guy thats always trying to knock drew's stick out of his hand was in pulse 09 right
@natacheese Oh how wonderful fine arts games are.
this whole book is sick
@JessOnTheRun but they beat the blue devils in perc? so i really don't think that they are so wanting to be in 4th for percussion
snares sound so nice.
@CheeriosMonster This also happens to be her TH-cam channel.
1:37 "He's gay....we're gay...so gay...all gay." hahaha the vocals are hilarious (there's many more). oh bluecoats drumline...i wish i could ever be that cool.

@JessOnTheRun I do enjoy yamamha, I love their instruments. Dynasty not so much
I can't wait till marching season starts again. :D

@breakdance1441 not really hard, just be prepared for the audition process by getting the respective packets and going to camps.
@DarkZeroProductionZ I don't think he dropped it. The other kid knocked it out of his hand. He hits it at 0:47 too.
@kelsbannon no thats the best part you see everything.,
"like a boss, dut, dut, so girl, get your mouth away from my... (buzz) hahahah
@thsma2009 HAHA they were! We played ninja with a group of local high school kids. It was fun!
actually they are based out of a college in minisota or something
The snare visual at 2:40 is sweet but does anyone else see the awsome bass visual too?!?!?!?
love the 7/8 section
@skaterfan105 nice! good luck :D what's your show this year?
@gallegosproductions hes the one right behind Nathan
@snaregurl15 yes she did
BD says they "max it out" but i think BC definately has the most physically demanding music and show with visuals ever!
@dlinekidd93 yeah cause the other corps look bored doing what they do. these guys look like they enjoy and love doing what they do best
didnt the guy 2 from drews left march snare blue coats 2009
Yes he did.
@saidincontent percussionists not drummers....
" We are not drummers, we are musicians that happen to play percussion."

@saidincontent
if you look you can see that the snare to his left made him drop the stick
Is it just me, or is the bass visual during the snare visual's pretty sick?
@breakdance1441 Do IT! I marched quads at both those places. Learned a lot and had a great time (As you can see in this vid) lol
did anyone notice the group behind the 1st bass was playing ninja in the opening? i saw them playing and i was like haha playing ninja to bluecoats music ftw!!!!!

I love the bluecoats
2:40 sweet stick visual

@natacheese no, "like a boss" is a song from the lonely island. thats where the humor comes from. it has nothing to do with them making gay jokes.
I believe it was 2009, and he was 19. I could be wrong.
@LeftyChipper shes in BD now so not anymore
I like how his stick gets knocked out of his hand after he says "like a boss" lol
@32abazz I am. who are you??
Wasn't Justin Lewis captain in 08?
2:01, this dude dropped his sticks in 2 vids but I think this time the snare next to him purposely made him do that LOL . still awesome
I love the sound of those snurs...
Tht is so awesome
what type of sticks do the snare line use because they're sick
0:41 how can you be playing ninja in the background when the bluecoats are playing right behind you?!
@jsk8drummer is her name like...stephanie or something?
@JessOnTheRun did you even WATCH the video?
@usster17 yes.
This was 4th july parade

@stixx1492 Is it hard to try out?
@ZachTheMan68
you'd be surprised at what most lines do to each other, of which they consider "fun".
Which one is Amador?
Did Drew age out?
@natacheese i think if you get pissed about it that would be good too
@schecter96 well i mean you can move around but i want him to stay on one person for a little bit long than what hes doing
