    People buy v8s for a reason, if they want a four cylinder truck… guess what they make them. Stop messing up v8 engine with this crap.

    You can put it in manual mode and it will disable CD, I typically do that on the hwy since you are not changing gears all that much. That’s funny to hear you say about the 4H being annoying every time you pop it in sport mode, totally agree. I hate always having to switch it back, seems like unnecessary wear, the older gen’s defaulted to 2H. Has no one figured out how to disable CD in normal mode with forscan?

    Auto stop stays off in Eco mode as I drive Eco about 75% of the time. Just over 5000 miles and since new I average 20.8 mpg based on the truck computer. Eco mode is good for me because I mostly drive 250 miles per week for work in traffic. If I want to go faster or have more responsiveness I put it in Normal or very occasionally Sport.

    Engineers said when cylinders are deactivated, they cool down compared to the active cylinders. Part of the engine being hotter and cooler can cause warping in the block. It might leak coolant or might have head gasket damage. Just what I heard.

      Gen 3 coyote engines don't have cylinder sleeves. They burn excessive engine oil. No secret to that problem. They can keep making excuses trying to normalize problem.

    Base on what I'm experiencing with my 2021 f150 with 5.0. The cylinder deactivation causes this very slight vibration. Now at 76,000 miles my rear main seal failed. I have never had a rear main seal fail at this milage .

    In aviation mechanical problems have greater consequences which creates a different lens to look through.
    In early development of the OH-58D psychotic version of a Bell Jet Ranger, tail boom cracks were discovered just forward of the tail rotor due to vibrations outside design tolerances. The higher RPM of the tail rotor required to counteract the upgraded 4-blade soft-in-plane rotor system created those vibrations and cracks.
    The Solution: install a certain plate over the area with proper and sufficient riveting.
    The Result: Vibrations propagated up the tail boom to cause cracks in the oil cooler deck.
    The moral of the story is doing this non-standard task is nothing more than trading one point of failure for another.

    Just switch the truck over to sport mode or really all you have to do is stick your foot in the throttle a little and once you get into a higher rev range I’m sure the other cylinders will decide to start firing again

    From what I understand, Sport mode will basically go in 4H only when it senses wheel slip. Therefore it acts as 4wdAuto.

    But how’s shifting in tow?

    • @Itsjustacoyotee
      @Itsjustacoyotee  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I came from tuned diesel trucks.. so to me it feels like a nice firmer shift, much like a tuned truck would shift, which I like. In my opinion the truck is much more fun to drive in either tow haul or sport mode.. and to me both modes feel fairly identical. It holds gears better, and shifts a little higher too which I like because the truck feels more responsive rather than lugging it everywhere to try to save a tiny bit of fuel mileage.

    4 auto doesn’t mean you are driving all 4. the only time it will kick on all four is when it detects traction loss. Otherwise you’re basically in 2wd

      @@motormouth2472 😂. No I just don't have a V8. You're right though the 21 and newer 5.0 has this system and I hate it and that is why I went with the 2.7. @@Rosso488 oh okay hahaha. And yeah I heard about that belt driven oil pump in those engines, I find it concerning too. I've heard the '21-present 5.0's also have the belt driven oil pump. If you ask me, the cylinder deactivation, and belt driven oil pumps will partially undue the 5.0 V8. These engines were supposed to be simple and reliable, and I can't think of how these "features" would help longevity
