Breaking his sword and turning it basically into a dagger during a close-quarters hand to hand fight was actually advantageous for Deathstroke, since they were already brawling in grasping distance. The larger sword was mostly useless that close to each other. Batman should have known better.

I've played it through 3 times but never read a review so this is entirely my own view. My only guess would be that half the map is the same area as Arkham City (a few years prior) so half of the map is 75% the same as the previous game, & the overall high similarity of the gadgets to Arkham City, & how in some instances they don't make sense because of how closely they mirror stuff he got access to years later that was supposed to be new then, (like the glue grenade vs freeze grenade, functionally the same). Not enough to offer anything less than a 7/10

Good attention to detail on deathstroke's attacks when his sword starts to break. He started out with samurai style for a long sword, closed distance changed it up to short sword and finally used tactical knife fighting.

I just love the choreography of this fight. It's a shame we don't get this often. As brief as it was, I still found small things that really elevated the fight for me. 2:31 Batman using his bracers to catch and temporarily lock down Deathstroke's Sword. 2:36 Again great usage of the bracers to catch and now break the sword. 2:38 Deathstroke instantly capitalizes on Batman's mistake of breaking the sword. 2:42 I'm not sure why but the visual of Batman overpowering Deathstroke from this angle was great. 3:01 Batman capitalizing on a rare Deathstroke mistake and hitting him with one of my favorite moves in the game.

If it was like "oh shit, now he has a dagger in close combat" then it'd have been a mistake.... but BM is well aware of what he is doing, so he stays one step ahead. He is essentially dictating how Deathstroke will fight for a moment (Edit: Which gives BM easier reads and more opportunity to take more control) so its a circumstantial advantage for Batman. The best kinds of advantages to take are the ones that your opponent wont detect. Especially if they think the advantage is theirs This fight is a bit brawly for sure, but I'd say Deathstroke is doing a lot more reacting vs Batman who is doing more orchestrating.
Now we gotta hope and pray he can deliver a Deathstroke with just as much potential and deliver. Otherwise he really shot himself in the foot for not using a version of the character everyone liked and wanted to see more of.

Of all the Batman movies... Only Batfleck fighting scene on BVS can match this fighting scene beauty.

This shows more accurate Batman then any game movie. Master hand to hand combatant even against other skilled adversary. Then goes into detective mode analysing the bullet and deducing who shot it.

Batman finding out Joker was the one behind all in Arkham origins is by far the best crime scene investigation in the entire Batman Arkham series! That bgm was spectacular! While playing that sequence I literally felt like I am watching a badass Batman movie at the same time a badass Batman Game! Very sad that this game didn't get the reception it deserved!

Arkham Origins was Arkham City expanded mode.. I loved it.
If you didn't know, WB Montreal wanted to have multiple fights with Deathstroke in the final game. I wish we had gotten to have that in the final product, but the game had to be pushed out quickly to pad time between City and Knight.
