Pattaya is so convenient, you can find something to eat, just walking out of your Condo or can use messenger to delivery all kind of products at your Condo, most importantly quality of life and affordability that you have.

Hey Tom, I do agree on most of what you do describe inhere. Well done. Here my 2 Cents to the issue:
The allure of Pattaya for those of a certain vintage. Let us delve into the complexities and paradoxes of this tropical haven, shall we?
First and foremost, the appeal of Pattaya lies in its seemingly endless reservoirs of sunshine and affordability, providing a haven for those of us who have grown weary of the dreary weather and exorbitant expenses of the Western world. One can indeed stretch one's sterling further in these exotic climes, indulging in luxuries that would otherwise be but a distant dream amidst the drudgery of everyday life back home. Of course, we cannot overlook the siren call of the sea, beckoning with its promise of azure waters and sandy shores, albeit at the expense of enduring the rather less picturesque beaches of Pattaya proper. Fear not, for the discerning expat can always seek solace on the nearby isles or venture further afield to the paradisiacal Koh Samet, where the sun-drenched vistas rival those of the Mediterranean itself.
And let us not forget the culinary delights that await the gastronomic enthusiast in these far-flung lands. Ah, the joys of Asian cuisine, where freshness and flavor reign supreme, offering a reprieve from the bland and processed fare so prevalent in the West. True, one must exercise caution in navigating the culinary landscape, but the rewards are well worth the effort, my dear chap.
Yet, amidst this idyllic tableau, lurk the shadows of potential pitfalls. For one must possess not only a discerning palate but also a discerning pocketbook, for even in paradise, money makes the world go round. And let us not be so naïve as to think that one can outrun one's troubles simply by boarding a plane bound for the tropics. Nay, the specters of financial obligations and personal demons are not so easily dispelled, my friends.
In conclusion, while Pattaya may offer a tantalizing escape for the weary traveler of a certain vintage, one must tread carefully, for paradise, like life itself, is but a delicate balancing act between pleasure and peril.

I do not drive anything so being near some good baht bus routes would be ideal.

Question, I am planning my first ever trip to Thailand. I googled Pattaya weather by month and I'm looking at the graph. It does not show ( average ) temperatures to be above 92 ever. So it does get 100 -ish ? It feels like 115 with the humidity ? I am debating either coming early July and staying for 60 days or coming early Nov and staying 60 days. Can you expand on the weather , rain intensity and duration, temps, prices of freelancers, full service massages, bar girls, prices of hotels , high vs low season ? Thanks

    • @MargaritasinParadise
      @MargaritasinParadise  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Thailand is hot in general around 33 degrees average. This year year it been much hotter than my past 5 years in Thailand. There has been times the temps have reached 40 degrees in the past 5 years but that’s not the norm. The last month though it's been the average. I was recently in Northern Thailand were it was 44 degrees everyday. It was just too hot to be out hiking. I ended up returning home to Pattaya for another day. Nov-Day weather is definitely the best climates in Thailand. The nights are cool enough that times I will need a hoodie, Monsoon season is basically Jun-Oct, If you’re on the coastal areas I would expect it to rain daily. Usually less than 30 minutes at a time but there has been times it will rain for days. Flooding is another topic worth mentioning. In low areas & close to the beach around expect the roads to flood. Hotel prices are super cheap. I would say $30 and up. High season is Nov-Apr (has better climate & higher prices) Low season is May-Oct. The adult topics I just don't openly discuss on my channel. There's plenty of forums that can bring you up to date. Try pattaya-addicts.com/
      I hope this helps

Thai government should pay you for endorsing Thai life, Tom.
There are some very strong points you make, cost of rent, cost of local food and ability to date significantly younger women, all top quality.
The cons would be high humidity, noise and traffic jams in big cities. Of course, in Bangkok you don't need a car. The sky rail system can take you anywhere.
for less than a dollar. It's quicker than taxis and tuk-tuks.
I like the infrastructure in Bangkok. But if you are a beach person, then Bangkok is not for you. Pattaya has an island not too far that is very good for swimming and the water is much clearer and beach less crowded. Costs about $12 on a ferry back and forth, only 45 minutes away.
If you want to stay in Pattaya, I recommend you get a condo with a large swimming pool and a workout center. You can get a reasonably nice one bedroom for $600.00 a month. As far as humidity goes, you can get used to it but wear shorts and tea shirts and you'll be fine. It can even help you lose some weight.
To be realistic, to live well in Pattaya, you need at least $1500.00 a month. You can survive on $1000.00 but you can live like a king for about $2000.00 a month, That's 50% of living average in big US cities,
Don't get me wrong, if you have a social security pension of $1000.00, you can live ok in the provinces, where rent is much cheaper, and if you stick to Thai food only, you won't have a problem. Of course, you won't have the conveniences of bigger cities and easy medical proximity.
Also, don't be delusional about Thai women just because you are a foreigner. If you have limited resources, yes you can hook-up with a younger Thai girl but you won't be able to afford her in the bigger cities and in the provinces, you certainly won't be able to pay for the upkeep of her extended family.
I'm like Tom. I love Asian women, Asian food (Thai, Chinese, Korean). and warm weather.
I've been to almost all the Asian countries. Singapore has excellent infrastructure but is the most expensive. Malaysia has good infrastructure and would be close to Thailand. China is affordable but the government is not friendly. Japan is much more expensive than Thailand. Philippines are poor but the bigger cities are ok, although surprisingly more expensive than Pattaya and so is the medical, even though it's not quite as good. Cambodia is a poorer version of Thailand and so is Vietnam.
I have money, so I can choose. I'm with Tom. Overall, Thailand is the best choice, for me Pattaya and Phuket.
