WOW, WOW, WOW, the Rollercoaster ride continues!!! Girl, I thought you were going to get one of the apartments in this video--What a BUMMER!!! You still have the option to look UPTOWN, UPTOWN in HARLEM, WASHINGTON/HUDSON HEIGHTS, and INWOOD allowing you to stay in the borough of Manhattan with a 20-30 minute subway ride to downtown, all within your price range in a larger apartment with elevators and laundry room in the building!!!

The apartments in this video mostly looked a LOT better than in your previous videos. Hope your search ends soon though! All that stress … sending you virtual hugs ❤❤❤

First apartment was clean. Landlord takes pride in maintaining it. FYI-showing vet records shows that you are a responsible pet parent. It helps. Second apartment is trash. Imagine telling you to do work on the apartment. They can take it off the rent. Once you’ve moved consider applying for apartments through the city. Many are brand new out of the box. It takes time but at least you would not have to deal with trashy buildings. You can report the building management company to the city. Please do this. Also, the apartment that you think your application wasn’t given….you can check into this and report the broker.
Don’t settle! You made the right decision. This is a place you will call your home for the next 1 to 2 years. The right one will show up for you.

If you're in an apartment walking on squeaky floors...just know that you're going to be hearing that same walking/squeaking from the tenant above you. Sometimes even rugs don't help and it gets to be REALLY annoying.
Uggggh, apt #26 Run like hell, I felt like I needed 10 showers and 5 baths just to get that ilth off of me! And that’s just from watching the video… I understand they said they’ll have some things fixed but they should’ve had those things completed before showing the unit. I think the first apt is more suitable but that Yorkville apt is nice too. Again, I hope everything works out for you and you get the apt you want.
Wow. What a journey. I bet you’re exhausted. Loving your apartment journey. It must be so stressful though. Your current building management are useless and it shows you’ve made the right decision to move out. I think you’re right about the narrow apartment and your new place is still waiting to be found!!!

Keep the faith! The perfect apartment is out there for you. I live in Washington Heights and I would advise looking around West Harlem and near Columbia University. Great restaurants and bars and lovely green spaces!

Your journey is taking me back to my move to NYC in 1993! I sublet, sight unseen, for a month & then sublet a really cute 6-floor walk-up in the UES for a year. During that time I looked at other apartments…what I learned is that mangers/owners can get really creative when describing dumps! One day, on a whim, I looked at a condo in a co-op on 70th & First. Walked through the front door & hallway and into the living room and said “sold!” Everything was magical from that moment on. I lived there for 10+ years before moving out of the city. Still miss the city and my home there. Good luck with your search. You probably know this…but be sure to walk the street at night of the places you are considering…says a lot about the location. Ahh this seems so stressful! I really loved the first one you wanted and the one you declined, but when they go with someone else just for the fee…that sucks and, with the second, you went with your gut. Is there a reason why you can’t go back to Jersey briefly and take more time to look? Dealing with staying with that awful management with their scammy behavior for another month seems to be an even bigger additional stress and Jersey is super close by.
Don't worry about what you are showing as content Trisha. I'm enjoying this apartment hunting very much. I pray you find an apartment you like soon. If you don't 'LOVE' any that you view, don't take them. I'm certain that you wouldn't settle in other life ventures. It's important to love your space that you call home. I hope you get the apartment of your dreams...... main point taken from all of your searches - - get an apartment with lots of sunlight. Other issues can be worked out ( lack of counter space, lack of closet space, small bthrm ). BUT, sunshine cannot be reproduced artificially..... it is such a mental health/ mood booster. And, sunshine always brightness any space makes it look much prettier / cozier. I hope you get the sunniest one that makes you happy!

Oh my word, heaven only knows how you're feeling, I'm exhausted and dizzy just watching you! I must admit I thought you were going to say you were sorted. I think you've done the right thing, if you're not 100% happy, walk away. I know it wouldn't be ideal, but you still have your sister you can stay with for a while if you need to get out without having found anywhere. I know that means putting all your stuff in storage but you only have to pack up once! Good luck and try to keep smiling. xx
Recently came across your Channel. Intrigued to watch your apartment search because I have rented my entire life. At 58 years old 2 years ago I purchased my first home. I have had many dreams over the years of putting in my notice to move and then not being able to find a place and having nowhere to live. I guess that's why this has intrigued me because you are in that current situation. In my dreams I am so frantic and you are so calm. Look forward to seeing which place ends up being home.

Loved #25! Love your apt hunting. The right apartment will show up - don't fret. Those other apartments obviously weren't meant to be - I just would not deal with your current management anymore - I would get out of there as soon as possible.
Keep going you will get there. I enjoy looking at the apartments but realise it is tough for you.
I dont know about NYC, but where I live you can file a small claims court suit with your landlord over the discrepancy ... if you want to go that route. You don't even have to follow through with the suit if they resolve it but usually it gets them moving fast!
Its a really challenge finding an apt in NYC and I am laways fascinated and how people will show an apt and it looks like complete trash. Keep at it hopefully you find the right fit also please check the NYC housing lotteries and apply you never know.

Re the charges, idk if you took pictures before you moved in here but going forward, take pictures of EVERYTHING before you move in. So when you move next time they can’t argue

You can always buy your own washer and dryer. Which is better sometimes
Yeah those wash/dry in one take forever to dry because they are not vented to the outside. Very inefficient and a hassle. You’d either be hanging your clothes to dry all over the apt or you will still go out to a laundromat.

Take pictures of each mark or hole or scratch in your next apartment before you move in and when u leave in the future.
I watched every last minute of this video. I'm so sorry this wasnt a successful session of apartment hunting but the perfect one is just around the corner, I just know it! The apartments in this video did look miles better than in your past videos. The Hells Kitchen apartment looked promising since it'll be renovated and had a decent amount of space and light!
Learned much about NY apartments. Don't think I'll move there. I currently live in Oakland near the top of a hill in a transitional neighborhood. Live in a 1920s middle unit of a triplex with private parking, backyard with veggie and orchard growing area. It's 850 sq ft, one bedroom, original windows in living room w/ 1920s vibe (original) though all the other windows are double paned and new with screen, private deck off back entrance, has washer/dryer combo, all appliances including a HUGE gas oven and range, original large and plentiful kitchen cabinets, under-the-stairs closet off the living room, medium sized bedroom closet with a dormer off the bedroom window with two double windows, original hardwood floors that look lived in but have no paint stains, and much more......all for $2,300 per month (water and garbage included). Downsides: no sound or temperature insulation at all. Thank goodness I am respectful of my neighbors and they of me. The floor slants in the first floor quite a bit, so I had to use various materials to level it out for my office "closet," large bookshelf, and three large metro shelving units completing the walk-in pantry. The one thing that I can say about my home is that it was very clean and freshly painted in a color that I requested. While moving in was a year+ long process, it feels more and more like home and is highly functional. Do you all in NYC get to know your neighbors well? I am of the impression from videos that is not the case.
I def think you made the right decision! Personally that apartment you didn’t take it was not my favorite. Layout wise it would be tough to make it work! I’m sure your apartment hunting will come to an end soon and you’ll finally get a one which suits your taste and needs❤

Whew..sorry but this video made me nervous. I couldn't finish it. I sincerely hope you find the apartment that youre looking for because hopefully it will all be worth it.
Great video! As a native NYer who still lives here...I would highly suggest you check out apartments in harlem, say 110th and 116th st or passed 96th st. You'll have much more space, 1-2 bedroom for the price point you are looking to pay. And you'll still be close to central park! I would highly suggest this, your price is sooo high for just studios! You can get a better bang for your buck and you'll still be in the city, a train ride away from midtown-downtown. Good luck on your search, I know you'll find something!

Wow, I was really hoping you were gonna get the studio--it just had the best vibes by far and nice light, clean, great storage etc. Oh well...I guess it isn't safe to negotiate the broker fee as long as the broker has the power to give your apartment to someone else! (I feel like that shouldn't be legal somehow...) I'm glad you didn't settle though. You're going to have to live with your choice for a year or two so it's worth the extra effort. Totally support you leaving your current flat though. You've made your space as nice as it can be, but the building itself is such a dump. Good luck! At least this crop of apartments was considerably nicer than the last one!
Take pictures of what you see at the very beginning and always and only send Emails.

Why didnt you go for the flat that was being renovated (the one they were keeping off market for you)? Was it bc you werent sure how it was going to look at the end or bc you were worried about when it would be move-in ready?
