      I'm telling you that this new wave of tenets are doing too much. The scary view, no dishwasher, and not wanting to take the apartment because its to far from church. If yall think 1 train is too far, you should not be here 😭

      Literally came to say the sammmmeeee thing! All the fun and bright parts of living in a big city are all the things she hates.

      Personally I can’t blame her. I grew up in nyc(mainly the Bronx and manhattan) in the not so best areas. Went to hs downtown and I was always jealous of the kids who lived in townhomes, had tons of space and privacy and were constantly going out. I would too be trying to find a place that is quiet and away from people but also spacious.

    I love how much of a priority it was to be close to church 💕

    Apartment 5 is worth it just for that balcony. That space alone was amazing. It's so huge you can have lots of people over there comfortably

    FYI on the washer dryer combo, the newer models are super efficient BUT it takes longer on the dry cycle. They’re pretty cool!

      Having used it for several months now I can attest that this is true!! It’s a really good solution for a small space.

    I’m surprised you guys went with the last one over the other ones, you said so many negatives yet claimed it checked all the boxes 😅😅

      Hahaha there were negatives with all of them, but this one was the best value for what we were getting. And we’ve made it into a lovely little home! 😍

    Love this! Just found your channel! Can I ask what you used to find these apartments? I'm currently looking on StreetEasy but not sure if it's really the best to use. Also considering going through a broker since I'll most likely be paying a fee anyway lol :)

    • @jennyglassmyer
      @jennyglassmyer  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I mostly used Street East as well! I also sometimes looked at Zillow, but in the end I think all of the apartments we went to see were off of Street Easy. I considered a broker as well for a bit since it’s actually a lot of work/time to set up all the viewings and sift through the adds and stuff! But it’s quite expensive (more than what we paid for a “broker” fee which was high to begin with), so I ended up deciding not to this time.

      I didn't realize the broker's fees could be even more if you worked with them directly lol Thank you so much, this is so helpful!@@jennyglassmyer

    Upper West really is IMO the best part of Manhattan to live in.

    There no such thing as south Harlem. None!
    You are either in Harlem or the upper west side or east side.

    That first apartment… HOW is that only $4800?? That is a palace I would think it would be MUCH more than that
    I’m looking right now and it’s total dumps that are going for $4000

    • @jennyglassmyer
      @jennyglassmyer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Haha there’s definitely a lot of variability with the seasons and such! At the time that was a pretty average price for a 1 bedroom of that caliber.
