  • Easy recipe to make perfect Badam Katli also known as Badam Barfi or Burfi. It’s easier to make this sweet than you think and with only 3 ingredients this sweet can be made without much prework. I have used Almond flour from Costco, if you can’t find Almond flour where you live then simply blanch almonds, peel skin off and pulse until you get a fine flour. It’s an excellent sweet to celebrate any special occasions, festivals, parties etc. Enjoy!

    Ingredients:
    • Almond Flour - 2 Cups
    • Sugar - 1 Cup
    • Water - ½ Cup
    • Ghee - 2 tbsp
    Steps:
    1. Place a pan on medium-high heat.
    2. Add sugar and water to the pan and cook until sugar is dissolved and cooked until it reaches a single string consistency.
    3. Add about a tbsp of ghee to sugar syrup and mix it in.
    4. Add almond flour to the syrup and mix it until everything is mixed well. Continue to cook on low heat until the mixture comes together as a soft dough and holds its shape.
    5. Grease a plate with a little bit of ghee and transfer the almond dough to it. Let it cool down for about 5 minutes so that the mixture comes to lukewarm temperature.
    6. Try to knead the dough by using a little bit of ghee at a time so that it won’t stick to your hands. After kneading it for a few minutes the mixture would come together like a soft smooth ball of dough without any cracks.
    7. Place a parchment paper or grease the countertop slightly. And roll the ball of dough into an oval shape sheet, about a ¼ inch thickness across.
    8. Cut straight lines about 1 and ½ inch apart. Then move the parchment paper at an angle and cut straight lines again that are about 1 and ½ inch apart.
    9. We will end up with diamond shaped katlis with a little bit of wastage at the corners.
    10. Arrange Badam Katlis in a serving plate and serve them for any special occasions. ENJOY!
