I like how you bring up forgiveness even in a blade. I have definitely found that different blades have different forgiveness levels and Bal flight tendencies. My 620 MBs get the ball in the air very easily but there's not very much forgiveness on a thin shot. Where my 730 s have tons of forgiveness on thin shots but I have a hard time getting up head through the turf
great review just purchased my mp20 combo and I agree what feeling I'm off 14 / 10 handicap suites my game thanks for all your reviews honest and true to word . Big thanks
Oh dear, looks like I will be getting a new set of clubs! Can't wait for the other reviews and probably most important the combo test. Great review as usual and love all the data, it does bring clarity, for me at least.
My 15 year old daughter hc 2 was fitted for MB’s 5-pw at Bearwood Lakes yesterday at one of their Mizuno tour truck events. We had no intentions of auditioning a set of blades but they’re surprisingly forgiving and deserve the ‘nothing feels quite like a...’ tag. Couldn’t bring ourselves to blend the set either, once you’ve dialled up the correct shaft using their 3D shaft optimiser it’s difficult to consider either MMC and HMB as long Irons - for reference we currently use a 3 year old set of Nike Vapor Fly irons paired with vokey wedges, which will also be replaced with their T20 range
I picked up a combo set of these. 4-6 in the HMB and 7-PW in the MB. Got rid of my T100 from 2019. They just spun up too much, but these things are dynamite.
Just ordered the MP-20 (6i-PW); quite a wait given Covid. Been gaming the HMB having moved from Titelist MB716. But now looking at a combo set and will test the cutoff point for the MP @6/7i. Ordered the blade 2 degrees strong so lofts work into the HMB and gapping. Again will test that and adjust lofts to suit subject to how the numbers come out.
I hit the MP-18 and thought they felt hard. At the time I was playing Miura’s so probably not a fair comparison. It put me off Mizuno irons for a while. But will gaming the MP/HMB combo for the 2021 season whenever we get out of Covid lockdown!
Hi, I’ve just come across your channel and I’ve subscribed as I thought that was a brilliant review. The reason I looked at your video I was fortunate enough to win a set of MP20S of my choice through James Robinson golf so hence my interest in your point of view. Anyway enough of that really enjoyed the content and the relaxed way you bring it across. How much do you sound like Paul Casey? I won’t know if this has been said before as I’ve just joined but the likeness is scary!!! For the record I’ve went a full set of Hmbs can’t wait too try them. Well done on the video.
Hi Geordie, yep it has been said before but I completely forgot about it. I'm glad you enjoyed the content, much more in depth than most and can alienate some but I believe it's important to get all the ball and club head data out there to give all viewers chance to see where performance and forgiveness is coming from. Well done on winning a set of MP20s 👍
AskGolfNut Thank you for the reply and yes I agree about the data I enjoy seeing what’s actually happening when you strike the ball, if anyone doesn’t want that they can always fast forward but for me and many more it’s interesting. Thanks again Geordie.
Definitely not 2 6 irons but could possibly do 2 5 irons.... The HMB 4 iron just goes so well for a helpful blade without too much loss of feel.... Best await the review 😊
Mizuno also do a kit with club oil in it which really brings up the shine and also protects the steel from any unsightly rust spots. Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
I've had 3 different sessions hitting the new MP20 MB. As a blade player this pure blade didn't feel as good as the Apex Pro, or P730, or Wilson. They have that firmer grain flow HD feel of the Mp18 which wasn't as soft as the legacy MP irons such as the MP69 or MP5. Personally, I don't care for the MP20's at all, and the Apex muscle backs stay in the bag.
EXACTLY !!. How could Mizuno do this. Ever since they went to HD- they have lost the legendary feel !!!. MP 5 was the last with it. I think I read it had to do with a "patent issue" so that's why the recipe was changed- what a mistake!!. I will never sell my MP 60 and 69 for that reason. Sad. Does the MP 20 have the "old Mizuno " feel ??
@@majorsmythe1 No. It has the MP18 feel. If Im a baker and Im known to have the best pastries in town, just because someone else figured out my receipt, Im not going to change just to change. That's my take. Don't get me wrong, the MP20 feel like a forging, but it's not the MP69/MP4 feel.
@@station2station544 Agree. The old Mizuno feel was like the ball was "sticking to the iron". MP60,32,4, 69 had this. Sad to hear they didn't go back to it. I was hoping the copper thing would have brought back the "old" feel. Not a lover of this HD process.
@@station2station544 Is that why they did it??. They changed to HD because the others found their "secret" ??. Do you know why the changed and went away from their great formula?
Great to see you back reviewing clubs Jay!

Great vid Jay. Looking forward to the next installment in the MP20 trilogy 👍👌😄🏌️⛳

6-pw blade on the way. Wish the hmb came in 5 iron for lefties
Great review. Mizuno look like they have done it again.

Best iron ever made I got the mp 20 mb p to 5 and I’ve never struck the ball better
I'm loocking for a new set. Have U tried jpx 919 tour? I can't choose between these two 😫
Great video, Mizuno are great club manufacturers. I would always suggest and recommend that anyone buying these irons is professionally fitted.
Can’t wait for Combo test.
Awesome review, I'm trying these out soon!
They are a step forward for Mizuno. Performance is as good as a blade can get and up there with the very best blades.
Glad you enjoyed the review. 👍

Geordie.
I have Nike vr pro blades at present and love them. Going for a fitting for these in a week or so though see if I prefer them or not
Anthony Jones did you get them? I play same Nike’s
Looking forward to combo test. Will you be gaming 2 6 irons I wonder!

I just want to buy those and put on display. They're too nice and beautiful to make dirty.
What software are you running from the GC Quad? Is that an update?
It's the Android based FSX Mobile app and Oneplus 7 Pro Screen Recorder 👍
Big fan of your work. Glad to see you also like golf!
Almost to pretty to use but I could get over it In a properly blended set 👍⛳️🏌🏼♂️
Thinking of getting the mp20 sel as I’m a lefty. Mizuno don’t do a great deal for us lefties.
MP20#teamal Wish this is me winning these awesome irons 🏌️♀️Just what I need to go forth and conquer the course 😂🥰
got me a set of these, and trust me I clean them after every shot. these babies can't have dirt on them.

These or the Apex MB?
Great great question..... and if I had to give an honest answer..... I'd have to say the Copper Underlay just pips it, if have to go MP20 😮😊
Might you be going back to playing blades? Sounds like feel wins it!

can't watch the video because of that flickering!!
eek. too chunky
