Love the fact that Mizuno put out these videos over time about the background, design, process of making clubs, not many manufacturers do. Used to have a set of 919 HM and will certainly keen to try out another set in the future after watching this.
Been playing Callaway Epic Forged for a number of years now. Been hunting what my next set of irons will be. I think I’ve found them!! Those 245’s are going in the bag!! Thanks for such a cool video! It’s rare to see such an in depth look behind the curtain!
Great video, I did not realize the amount of human interaction and craftsmanship involved in creating each iron head. I love my JPX921 Tour irons. Nothing feels like a Mizuno!
Just ordered a custom 245 7 iron to "make sure" the set up is right and then order the rest of the sets.....seeing this video has reassured me of my choice for a long term iron set. LOVE to see the old school "hands on" collide with modern processes utilizing "technology" to ensure a superb product. KEEP IT going.
I played MP-58’s for nearly 7 years than moved into JPX 900 forged for one year. Haven’t played mizuno irons since 2017. after watching this video I can truly appreciate all their work. If I wasn’t recently (late 2022) custom fit for 2021 Titleist T100S irons I would go for the 243’s
I bought a set of MP-63's muscle back (diamond back) irons from a man who had them sitting in his garage for 11 years. He only hit them a few times at the range, so the clubs are in like new condition. Beautiful clubs! I like the thought of hitting the ball with a solid piece of metal. There is something primitive about it. Hitting the sweet spot is an indescribable feeling. I want the best, that's why I have four sets of Mizuno clubs. MP-63, MX-32, MP-60 Cut Muscle (bought used) and JPX-921 Hot Metal (bought new when I first started to learn golf).
I am a proud & loyal Mizuno golfer I'm onto my third set of clubs. 900JPX, 950 Hot Metals and presently 223 Pros. I can't rate them high enough...they are brilliant and have transformed my game. I commend Mizuno's company philosophy, their craftsmanship and pure passion in producing the finest golf irons possible. Thank you 🙏💙
I still have my MP-57’s. Love the feel of them…it’s like butter when you hit the sweet spot and good feed back on the miss hits. I’m older now and will probably never buy another iron set again. Then again I have mizuno irons so no need for “new”. They are Irons to last a lifetime.
Proud to play 243s. Wish this level of manufacturing was happening in the USA, aside from one or two bespoke makers, but happy to support the skilled, dedicated engineers and craftsmen behind Mizuno.
I play the 64’s now and before that the 33’s but after 24 years of nothing but Mizuno irons I’m looking at a different brand…. I know blasphemy right! But those Titleist T100’s have me very intrigued.
When a company has something worth showing, they’ll show it. Mizuno crafts the finest irons in the game…now you know why. My first set of Mizuno irons were the MX-25, I have two sets, one with stiff shafts, the other with regular shafts. They are awesome! I’ve added to my arsenal, a set of JPX-923 Hot Metal, JPX-900 Forged, and I just bought a set of Mizuno GRAD irons that I’m going to restore. My wife has a set of Mizuno Sora. We absolutely love Mizuno. I think my favorites are my MX-25 stuff shafts…there is no doubt you can “feel” the difference in a Mizuno. The feedback is instantaneous. The JPX-923 Hot Metals being a game improvement club are more forgiving, but don’t feel quite as good when you have great contact. These clubs don’t just perform amazing, they inspire confidence when you address the ball, and that helps the mental aspect of your game.
Been 3 years golfing in Indonesia. Until now still using MP20-MMC. From starter until 9 handicap. Really great irons. Still saving money to change to the new one. Hahaha ❤
Legendary irons!! Have played many variations throughout the years like the mp-32, mp-37, mp-64. I had a set of 695mb's and then switch them out for a new set of mp-64's and immediately sold the 695's. The Mizunos felt just slightly softer but the Mizunos were just more stable and consistent as well as less offset. Mp-64's are the GOAT and the offset pofile is damn near perfect, never go over 0.122 offset period ever. Couple things mizuno should bring back is the classic fonts of the mp-64 on the back of the iron and the sole as well as the original grain flow forged font. Mizuno's wear very well from use. Great products.
Just ordered the 245s I think that my first set as a kid was Mizunos Was playing Callaway and tried the 245 at a fitting as I wanted to change to something with more feel but that could enable to forgive and help me move forward in my game Very excited to get my hands on them!
Great to see where my 921 Tours were made …. Maybe some of the same people worked on the clubs I’m about to use in about 2 hours time ! Very interesting video. 💙
Played Mizunos for years...MP14 (early 90s) and MP32 (current set) and looking forward to a fitting with a Mizuno Rep on Feb 7th for the new series of Mizuno Pros. I'm in between getting the 241 and 243.
What did you go for? I'm guessing you decided the easier to hit irons were a more usable option as you become eligible for senior golf. The 245 have a similar look to the 24@,243 but so mich easier to strike. Especially after a few weeks on holiday. Plus so much easier to flight than a compatible tm or cway
When you see what goes into making these irons, and how it's done by hand not with robots, $1300-1500 for a set doesn't seem unreasonable at all. I am still gaming MP-33's, if you amortize the cost over the years, it's a bargain.
Copper plating is another process after the heads leave the forging factory. The face and neck of the 245 are its forged component, with a stainless steel back section.
I assume that my JPX Tour 923's are made somewhat the same way? Do you have a video coming out on that process? Thanks for the video and I love my 923 Tour irons!!!!!
I was fitted into the 245s upgrading from 714 AP2s. They go farther but I have not been a satisfied consumer at this point. They just aren't what I am looking for in a club, I should have been fitted again by a non Mizuno fitter who gets kick backs.
I have played Mizuno since 1990. Every club in the bag from driver to putter. I have never owned a single club from anyone else since 1990. I'm probably your most loyal customer on the planet. Would love to see a new MX23. Large, forgiving, confidence inspiring, traditional lofts. A mild steel forging anybody can play. Feel, sound, looks all perfect. Not keen on the feel and sound of the chromoly at all. I'm not sure I could buy any new Mizuno irons right now. I don't feel there is anything in the range for me. Shame really. I'm retiring soon and it would be my last chance to buy new irons. Currently MP18MMC.
tough one to answer - the 923 Forged is the direct lineage to MX23. The change in feel is more down to the thinner face. Upside is more stability and ball speed….but it will have a slightly different feel to the MX23s. Thanks for being such a loyal Mizuno player. Afraid things do move on - it’s hard for us to go backwards, but we hear you.
@@mizunogolf1906 Thankyou so much for your reply. Still sporting the Domino putter from 1990, wouldn't change it for the world. I'm 59 in a couple of months and I'm finding it a little harder to hold onto a 5 handicap. Would love a little extra head length. You could always sponsor my youtube channel with a set of irons........ 🤣🤣🤣
We used to have jobs like this in America. Now we have men who tell us about what they do somewhere else and why we need to buy it here. But yeah, I play Mizuno irons. I'm not an idiot
There’s plenty to lament about the disappearance of American craftsmanship, but this isn’t an example of that. The best forging has always been done in Japan all the way back to the days of the samurai sword.
8:11 I'm not buying that for a minute. Im a Mizuno player but this guy is laying it on a bit thick. Blocking some of the excess material that is coming out of the sides of the press so more material is captured inside the head shape? This is physics; if the metal squeezes out the sides, that's because the useable area is completely full of material.
Gutsy clip as it starts with raw materials. I doubt very much a Ping or Titleist (or other) could do the same - even though they might have forged vs cast.
I play KZG Evolutions. I also have Mizuno 221s. I've owned modern Taylor Made, Ping & Titleist. Poor QC and honestly? Fisher Price crap forged in China. Assembled in US. Ew.
I’ll be booking a custom fit for around June, will be either the 425’s or the Miura 502’s., though the Miuras are around double the price of the mizunos.
Miura tend to weld their irons. Create the head and then spin weld on the hosel. Not sure which models but they have that reputation. Years ago Mizuno posted some photos of iron heads they had cut open to show the welding.
Love the fact that Mizuno put out these videos over time about the background, design, process of making clubs, not many manufacturers do. Used to have a set of 919 HM and will certainly keen to try out another set in the future after watching this.
I don’t believe the other manufacturers have anything at this level to show. There are other quality irons available, but none rival Mizuno.
The precision required to make the best irons in the world, nothing feels like a Mizuno👌🏼
as a mechanical engineer myself, always love to see the production process
The forging process is fascinating. The Air Hammer Press machine is such an awesome machine. Really cool.
Excellent irons…Nothing like the feel of Mizuno. I still play the Mp-32s classics 👌🏼⛳️🏌️
As a mechanical engineer myself I loved the video and feeling very proud to be playing my second set of Mizuno! Thnx!👍🏌️♂️

Best golf clubs made are Mizuno, still rocking my MP33's. Thank you for sharing these behind the scene look on how you guys make the best clubs ever.
So interesting to see how the clubs I love so much are made. Very good video.

Very different era , but the 57s feel great out the middle.
Playing a set of MP29s since last summer, best purchase I ever made
One of my favorite irons I ever played were the MP-57s. Loved the nice, heavy feel. Fascinating video
Great video and can't wait for the 245's to come out..Thanks...
What a great in-depth description, thank you for the VID. I play the 225 series and love, love, Love, them !
Proud to play 243s. Wish this level of manufacturing was happening in the USA, aside from one or two bespoke makers, but happy to support the skilled, dedicated engineers and craftsmen behind Mizuno.
Being fitted on monday 8 jan, been waiting patiently, maybe not so patiently. Cant wait to get these on the course.
Great video. I'm aa bigger fan after watching the detailed process.
I played MP64’s for years … I have the MP20 MMC… and now I’ll have to get these. Thanks a lot Mizuno!❤

Very excited to get my hands on them!
Full info on the new Mizuno Pro 241/243 and 245 will be available Monday 8th Jan on MizunoGolf.com.
Love these behind the scenes type videos, happy 2024!
Really enjoyed this video, so interesting, thanks Mizuno! Excited for the irons...
Brings me back to when I was a machinist 80s thru mid 90s.
Well made and beautiful video!
Great to see where my 921 Tours were made …. Maybe some of the same people worked on the clubs I’m about to use in about 2 hours time ! Very interesting video. 💙

All this for the best feeling irons in all of golf!!!!!
Truly, Nothing Feels like a Mizuno!!!!
I will never play anything else, ever!
This is a cool video. I'm already waiting on my 245's!!!
This sure beats videos about a repainted callaway driver release!!
When you see what goes into making these irons, and how it's done by hand not with robots, $1300-1500 for a set doesn't seem unreasonable at all. I am still gaming MP-33's, if you amortize the cost over the years, it's a bargain.
Mizuno does it better than anyone. Hoping they make the 243 lefty eventually!
Very cool. Thank you.
My 223's are butter. Thanks for the upload.
Waiting for my 245s! when does the copper happen? How do you make the 245 hollow?
Copper plating is another process after the heads leave the forging factory. The face and neck of the 245 are its forged component, with a stainless steel back section.
Fascinating
wow good video
You might be the first person worldwide to have seen it. Only went up 18 minutes ago!
I assume that my JPX Tour 923's are made somewhat the same way? Do you have a video coming out on that process? Thanks for the video and I love my 923 Tour irons!!!!!
Believed 923 Tour won 3 JPGA tours 2023😊
made in the same factory - yes.
Amazing 👍
I was hoping to see the process for the copper underlayment, but I understand that is probably pretty proprietary.
The copper layer doesn’t get applied in Hiroshima. Thats a 2nd process that happens with the chrome plating.
How is this any different than what is done on the other Mizuno forged irons of the past?
Do you sell by clubs?? Maybe next year (JPX new release), I would love to have the new tours 5-9 and a 4 forged irons.
Yes - can order single irons or blended model sets.
I am ready to upgrade, been using Mizuno irons for years. which clubs will be offered for Left handed players?
241, 245 both offered in LH.
I was fitted into the 245s upgrading from 714 AP2s. They go farther but I have not been a satisfied consumer at this point. They just aren't what I am looking for in a club, I should have been fitted again by a non Mizuno fitter who gets kick backs.
What was the metal being used, 4120 chromally?
depends on the model.
Geez, I miss manufacturing !!! lol

I wish mizuno offered a hot metal forged set…
Some of us need or like that forgiveness but still like that forged feel
JPX 927 hot metal forged????
that’s basically the JPX923 Forged.
Quiero ser responsable por miszuno
idk why you would release this video, now every manufacture knows how its made lol
We'll challenge you to set up a forging factory and replicate the process. Let us know when you're done. 🤣
