      Inklipse My favourite was the straw / splatter look. If I'm just trying this technique out ( I have the Yupo paper), what alcohol ink colours do you recommend I start with? I only want to buy 3 or 4 colours at first. Thanks. Laura

    Hi Simon, loved this tutorial. I loved the first one, the background with the 'paint' and the last one with the mixative. The first one had such a nice autumn feeling to it.
    A few questions:
    - can you stop the spreading of the colours in the first card?
    - when you use two different colours in the paint version, do they still blend like the basic product?
    Simon, you are doing an awesome job with your tutorials and other videos. I do think your dogs deserve a cameo appearance one day. 😂

    • @simon.hurley
      @simon.hurley  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can kind of stop the spreading by blowing cold air on them to dry faster.
      I’m not sure if the metallic version blends.
      I might have to feature them in a video! :)

    Again, I learned so much from you! I don’t have any alcohol inks yet, but this sold me on them! I am mostly a scrapbooker, but recently have been dabbling in making cards, too! I can see using these techniques for journaling squares in my scrapbooks and gorgeous backgrounds on cards. Thanks Simon! Could you tell me where you got the tool you used for blowing (holds a marker I think) and what it’s called? Thanks!!!

    Hi Simon, you just make my day. I had bought some alcohol inks. I was not to sure how to use them. So much fun, you can make pretty colors on the paper. Question, sometimes die cuts come on a slick and shiny paper, is that paper like yupo paper? Because it's ready feels like it. Next time I will try it. Thanks for being an smart and wonderful young man! Keep up the good work!

    This is a very nice instructional video for beginning alcohol ink users, Simon. Please let everyone know that you CANNOT spray blending solution. Very dangerous. You can spray 90-91% rubbing alcohol but never the blending solution. Also you need to work in an open, well ventilated area with the inks. Tim tells us that all the time

    • @simon.hurley
      @simon.hurley  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thx Simon. I needed a video showing how to use alcohol inks. However I am color blind so a video that never mentions what colors have been used is frustrating. Even if u just coulda said, on this background I’m using a light blue, a mid toned pink, and a deep purple or whatever. I wish I was better at using technology so maybe I could do my own research. My first few try’s have come out looking like mud and I don’t know why. Probably the colors I chose? Pls do more videos on this topic. My favorite background was the hot pink, blues and purples but I cannot seem to get mine to look like that. The blue & purple overtake the pink so there’s hardly any pink when I’m done. How many drops of each color did u apply to the felt? Wahhhhh!! Lol.
    PS - tried going to the link to ur blog using my iPad but it says this link is not secure so I don’t think I should be clicking on it☹️
