    Great thing to remember, mind and muscle connection is simply flexing the specific muscle you’re exercising throughout the workout. If you don’t feel anything, put weight down, and do the movement while flexing only the targeted muscle, you should feel something. Grab the weight and do it again remembering to flex

      @@horrordudealma hiya thanks for the reply! i have done this but again, i cannot feel my glutes engage in any movement. i can build a slight burn after performing lots of donkey kicks but thats the only time i have ever been able to feel them and then once i start my actual workout nothing. i do hip thrusts, squats, rdls, lunges etc but like i said i just cannot feel my glutes.

    • @horrordudealma
      @horrordudealma 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@la33x form is just as important too. For example, try lunges again, but this time, make sure at the end of each movement, your knees go past your toes. Instead of ending at the classic 90 degree angle. Go one leg at a time for a number of reps while holding onto something for balance if needed. It’s crazy how much more this helps. It’s the only way I feel glutes with lunges. Hopefully this made sense 😂

    I agree with going with lighter weights when it comes to hitting your glutes, because if I go any heavier, I lose form and it ends up targeting my legs! I could definitely do RDLS at 50 lbs each hand but then I don’t feel it in my glutes anymore, so I tend to stay around 30-35 lbs to make sure my form is on point and I feel it where I’m supposed to.

      Same ah I’m so happy I’m not the only one. So when I do glutes I love lower weights but I jus go up higher in my reps if that makes sense.

    • @alexmilani
      @alexmilani 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Do glute bridges then. Don’t let your shins and knees fall towards you as you do the thrusting movement. Just go down until your knees start tipping, once they start tipping your bringing in hamstrings and quads go help move the weight. Keep it isolated on the glutes and you’ll be able to go heavier.

    You'll get way more glute activation in your hip thrusts with a bit of a wider stance and your feet externally rotated💯
    Same goes for cable kickbacks. External rotation for glutes (mainly glute max), and internal rotation for your glute med/abductors (upper side glutes).

    • @LelaP-
      @LelaP- 3 ปีที่แล้ว +53

      Along my fitness journey I learned that this depends on your bone structure. I feel hip thrusts and things like RDLs waaaayy more with a more narrow stance & my feet straight. The only reason I can think of is maybe its because I have naturally wider hips so remaining straight & narrow goes against that so i feel it more? Im not sure lol

    • @melissareed3101
      @melissareed3101 3 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      @@LelaP- that is a veeerryy valid point! People have small differences in anatomical structures/points of insertions with muscles/etc. So for some activation is felt more with a narrower stance rather than with external rotation of the hips. I always have my clients start off in a stance that traditionally stretches out the muscle fibers more to allow for a much greater contraction at the top of the rep. But I also always tell people to kind of play around with positioning in a safe way to figure out where they feel the right muscle doing the work during a movement ☺️

    Physical therapists, doctors, and experts say that wearing garters is bad for your joints, and it can cause a number of joint problems. Put them above or below the joints, but never over them.
    And do not put your knees facing in when you do weight or squats, keep them bent, never lock them either when exerting or when you finish, otherwise you will only screw up the joints, nerves, bones, etc. of the knees. Besides, it is proven that blocking your knees lowers your gains.

      Hey, I’m no expert on this, but you shouldn’t feel discouraged! If you’ve been eating well and training, then there’s a chance that what you’re doing is burning your fat away and replacing that weight from the fat in muscle!! Which is good!! It’s called body recomposition!! Kenza Tounakti has made some videos describing this better than I personally could, you should check them out! Most importantly don’t give up :))!!

    Just came across your page and love it! Ty! my issue is while working out I become so damn dizzy and heart rate is so fast that I can't continue. not sure if its my diet or what would cause this but its stopping me from a full train. very frustrating. I would welcome any suggestions to help me with this.

      @@Movewithmusse I'm sorry I do not know how to DM on here but I was saying dr's are clueless. I am figuring it out now and I think I'm not eating enough carbs. Even enough food for the amount of working out I'm doing. But thank you for your reply. I'll figure it out. :)

      Maybe try doing your workouts less intense and much slower at first, with big tests of 1-3 mins between each set. When I started I only did a few reps of a couple sets of 4 exercises maximum in one session and then slowly built up from there

    I have yet to get this question answered, Is it possible to slim down your upper body and build your lower body at the same time or should one area be the main focus until I see results then move on to the next area of concern?. Like my problem area is definitely my upper body, I'm just too big on top than I'd like to be. Hence I've lost a ton of weight only doing cardio 7days a week for the last 4 years, I still have not achieved the look I feel I'm capable of achieving. So should I work on getting smaller on top and then work on my glutes or is it okay to work on them both. Please give me some kind of hope .

    your form for your RDL's can use a lot of work. keep the weight as close to your legs as possible, and you don't need to go all the way down. that can cause back issues

    my leg press looks different than yours, is it still possible to do the same workout with the leg press machine? also i noticed your feet placement was high, shall we keep our feet in the same position?

    • @kelechio1998
      @kelechio1998 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Whichever leg press you have should still be fine. If it’s an angled one, be really careful to not lock your knees straight when you push out. As for her foot placement, placing your feet high like that places more emphasis on the glutes and hamstrings. Placing feet near the bottom pits more emphasis on the quads. Putting your feel in the middle should hit all areas to some extent.

    i would suggest working on your form if you can’t feel your glutes when you’re doing certain movements. hinge your hips and focus on your hips when doing the movements

    What should your diet look like to gain muscle like she has? I’m new to working out and I want to do a slight bulk, 500 extra calories a day. Is this a good idea for this muscle look?
