This has been one of the most insightful episode of TBT. Loved every second of it. Finally, someone is talking about change, reforms, and solutions rather than just throwing shade at each other.
You're in Pakistan in your dp or somewhere else please do tell
*Junaid-Muzammil are the Pride of Pakistan!*
Two gems in one frame, bless.
This is the best of the best talks on TBT. Thanks for bringing this up. If there ever will be round 2, please take it down to operational level reform ideas. Let's talk on how to create efficiencies in smaller teams across the industries. Junaid bhai is master of creativity productive and efficient teams. We need to know the formula.
We would definitely want to have a round two. It was a very fruitful conversation with a bunch of takeaways and was eye-opening as well. Thanks, Muzammil for having TBT, and hats off to Junaid Iqbal! waiting for round two...
The broadcasts on this channel accompany me during my gym workouts. Two highly productive hours are dedicated to both mental and physical well-being.
One feedback is that I'm more interested in the general discussions where ideas are exchanged, rather than the personalized anecdotes. Unless there's a universal takeaway from personal experiences, it's hard for many to connect since everyone's journey differs greatly. Individual pathways are influenced by various unique factors that have limited correlation with others.
Furthermore, I want to express my admiration for Muzzamil's effort in raising awareness about advanced topics in such a thorough manner. I wholeheartedly support this kind of content. I hope more people tune in to these broadcasts and expand their thinking. Thank you once again for providing such an exceptional service to the public. God bless you!
Junaid is spot on! It’s the problem with stakeholders (not to forget) the biggest real estate stakeholders ;)
As a tax consultant (Canada based), in my opinion, if we really want to fix Taxes in Pakistan, we must do the following:
1. We need a new independent Tax agency
2. To design and run this agency import professionals from foreign countries (US, Canada, Europe etc) where there are effective tax regimes/systems in place. These professionals have experience and understanding of how tax systems work. I have to say that in Pakistan 80% of tax professionals don’t even understand the tax lifecycles (not because they are incompetent, but they have never experienced a full tax regime/system in their everyday life).
3. Technology; only technology can handle this massive tax regime implementation and establishment. Less people more technology. People trust in technology more than humans.
4. More localized taxes. Province/city
5. Lower tax rates, flat tax rates in the beginning, no non-filers, self-tax assessment filing, some direct incentive to every citizen who files a tax return (e.g, health card is a very good incentive).
6. Transparency on tax collection and spending.
Generally people want to comply (file and pay taxes), but the state needs to give them respect in return.
Lastly, the state has to accept a fact, that if they want direct taxes, they will have to stand answerable to the tax payers.
Otherwise, only loans and indirect tax - as we are right now. I apologize for the long comment, since its my profession - couldn’t help myself 😊 Keep up the good work.
I would love a round two, this has been one of the most insightful podcasts I have seen, right next to the one you did with Faisal Aftab
One of the most informative sessions regarding the economy of Pak. Voting for part 2.
Exceptional conversation. Thanks Junaid for such a brilliant view
This is truly impressive! It's common to see people using such platforms to vent and complain, but you have shown a refreshing mindset and have provided practical solutions. All of your suggestions are feasible and valuable. Brain at work!
We want conversation with indian entrepreneurs to discuss what Pakistani entrepreneurs learn with indian entrepreneurs
Why ? Isn't Hindu a Kaafir & Mushrik?
The word ‘entrepreneurs’ has been used 3 times in this comment.
It's the environment
Pakistan can not become India just like India cannot become Singapore.
The environment is different
Hamara jan.chodo.
Thanking Jinnah everyday
Certainly not 'jihad' n 'how to beg 24*7' 😂😂
Muzamil bhai, this was the best episode of your podcast so far. What an insightful and thought provoking discussion. Loved that you discussed solutions too. Please please do a 2nd part. And Thank you for bringing this gem!! ❤
What an episode! Actually gives hope for the future of this country.
The restaurant example with free food and only 2 customers out of 100 paying for food is an apt example of Pakistani economy.
Amazing, amazing, amazing! Looking forward to Round Two of Junaid and his career about startsup, etc. Thank you Muzammil!
I was in California on 9/11 and saw the 2nd plane hit live on TV. That night, there were cars/trucks out with American flags honking. I was 20 years old and it was almost like 14th August. I had come to the US in March of that year and wore shalwar qameez occasionally on campus. After 9/11, that was all gone.
I totally understand what he is saying. America was so much better for us, and perhaps everyone, before 9/11. Everything changed on that day :(
Excellent episode. Crisp, articulate and solutions focused. Hope we can see these reforms soon one way or another!
What an episode, need a second round too Muzammil bhai. Never have I ever heard such clear and concise explanation of our econmic and political plights and their solutions.
Never heard a better podcast than this one. Good job done bro. Amazing conversation.
One of the best Podcast on pakistan's economy.... thumbs up
Amazing, amazing, amazing! What an episode man, Muzammil bro you have to do another round, looking for to it.
One of the best podcasts I have watched ever. And what a great, humble, smart and visionary guest. Kudos to both of you.
Beautiful. Simply amazing content. Hats off to you Muzammil. 👏 and TBT Team. 👏
Kudos to ThoughtBehindThings for bringing Junaid Iqbal to the show! His insights and perspectives on various topics are truly enlightening and resonate deeply with many Pakistanis, myself included. It's refreshing to hear his candid thoughts on important issues. I'm eagerly hoping for a part 2 of this episode where we can delve even deeper into the subjects he discussed. Keep up the fantastic work, and thank you for providing a platform for meaningful discussions
This was really nice, 2nd part is much needed.
Junaid can explain complex things with so relatable and everyday examples.....this reflects how deeply he knows his stuff..👍🏻
I do not comment much on YT but here I agree so much that I am expressing it.
Would be waiting anxiously for second part
What a fascinating episode! Would love to hear his Careem journey though.
We want a next part of it, Such an insightful discussion.
Wonderful episode. Very insightful there should be a round 2.
Great conversation. Round 2 please. 😊
Good one dude muzammil. We want these types of podcasts
critical thinking and reality based.
❤
Great talk - looking forward to Round 2
One of the best podcast on your channel! Loved it.
Your guest is a smart guy. I learned one thing that his presence in Geo when it was in infancy helped him to meet the top CEOs in Musharraf time. Musharraf time was post 9/11 time best time for Pakistan economy. He was in the right place in the right time. But he continued his passion and he is what he is today. Young entrepreneurs must see this vlog.
Definitely want a round two. Muzammil bhai, I think, as mentioned, Pakistan has all the resources and the required ingredients i .e personnel, investors, technical experts but one, thing missing is the will to start because its pretty clear that perks and privileges availed by many would be compromised and that would result in a political hit. Idts it would be achieved anytime soon and i really wish we hear and have more and more of such sound intellectual conversation.
1 hour in and I can already say that it’s going to be one of the most insightful episodes. Great job
Hats off Muzammil. I don't really agree with your political views but what a fantastic podcast. Lets keep more of these coming. Much respect to Junaid Iqbal, what a high performer who understands the economy and offers realistic solutions.
What a brilliant podcast!
Sooo insightfull SubhanAllah
JazakAllah Muzammil and Junaid bhai for having this convo.
As Indian, i personally learned a lot on a macro level.
Definately looking for part 2 with Junaid Bhai.
And yes do invite Indian Entrepreneurs as well.
He explains things so well. Anyone can get it. Well done! 👍
Wonderful... First time watch this channel.. Good job guys
Finally a better podcast.
I would suggest another more detailed podcast with him.
Has really good understanding of real problems and logical solutions to em.
Though i disagree with him on some points but overall it was good talk and would like to listen more from him.
Would love round 2 of this podcast
This guest is genius. Provided solutions for Pakistan. Practical guy with experience.Pakistan needs such brains
very learned and accomplished guest. A treat to hear him❤
Brilliant podcast Muzammil. To the point and relevant.
Very enlightening discussion. I learned so much
Excellent episode.. I listen to your podcasts on Google Podcasts but there are no comments option there so I came here just to appreciate this episode... The analysis from Junaid sb is spot on, we must come out of fool's parsdise and assume everything will be ok... Those in charge must realise the things that needs to be done in order to come out of this pathetic situation the whole country is in and the problems + solutions suggested by Junaid are very very real
Would definitely love to hear another podcast
Junaid should be a powerful stakeholder in economic decision making of Pakistan. Very knowledgeable guy.
Muzammil kudos for being so so well prepared and controlling the discussion to precision
I was wondering what would I be doing if this podcast wasnt there. What a goldmine
One of the amazing. Please a round 2 as well.
Very insightful podcast. Business channels are really required to improve financial literacy. Technology can be used to make life easy for an ordinary citizen by reducing human intervention in decision-making in day to day matters. This will also lower the corruption at ground level, which impacts the ordinary person more than the elite corruption.
We have worked together on his geo news show tezi mandi and I am the one who works on vizrt 😊 good old days
Will be waiting for part 2
Welcome Back to an awesome Podcast.
Wow, need a second episode, please!
Wow wonderful show, you guys have changed my perception of Vlogs which I was watching before, you had good guest Junaid Iqbal, keep it up seems true conversation because I’m Ex-Habibian and been living in USA since 32 years so I know almost everything about 9/11, Catrina, IK episode etc. I felt very good and connected with your show, I’m about to establish my Security guard company with Facility Management Services there in Dubai probably by next month or so, keep up shows like this ❤
Listening this again, thought provoking
Amazing show, should be broadcasted at 8pm on state propaganda television tonight
lets do it! lets work harder than ever!
Excellent guest and wonderful podcast.
Excellent presentation !

Alas! Because of you Pakistan's Economy is where it is today.
Very interesting episode. So much to learn
Agreed on the point about 3 points agenda for Pakistan
Increase production
More children go to school
Unit positive theory and tax on agriculture
Nice. A frank .. One 2 One. Well done.
Will wait for round "2"
part 2 please!!!
Great man.
I m late lestener but awesome
Is there round tow recorded?
loved the PODCAST. Maza agaya! Why will he give up the USA citizenship route though?
Even India can't tax Agriculture...even super rich farmers dodge tax...They don't even allow discussion on setting a high threshold to collect the tax (Moreover if something is done to improve agriculture then all urban intellectuals will come to the streets and make a huge fuss)
No tax in agriculture
Such a great channel with lots of great content, why not focus on shorts to grow it even bigger for wider audience for more larger impact
Excellent
Awsome studio, wonderful podcast
Will look forward to another conversation with Junaid Iqbal , especially his vision on startups.
In these 2 hours of podcast the Guest has proved himself to be highly incompetent for any finance or treasury assignment in Pakistani bureaucracy.
But has given a clear picture for the rivival of the economy.
Excellent podcast ❤
PER AGRICULTURE MEIN PROBLEMS HAIN. WATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM HEE NAI TO PRODUCE THAT KIND OF YIELD. 100 YEAR OLD CANAL SYSTEM BEING FOLLOWED.
Good ideas to learn new commers in business
Very Intuitive.
Assalam walekum bhai jaan veri good I am from Mumbai but I am excited always about Turkey but I am a very senior citizen but considering for my next generation please make more intensive videos on this same subject thank you jazakallah
Round 2 needed
Definitely a round 2
congrats on your studio was a interesting podcast
american model... which is disorganized system to organized one.... i feel we have missed that boat... and if we start doing that now. we will have other problems and issues in between that will cripple us more... so we need to follow our own model. a creative , hybrid model that is for Pakistan. specific to our problems. how to bring stakeholders under an organized system... give them incentives .... so they themselves are like yes this is the model we want. and then once everyone is on the same page then . turn on the switches.
beautiful ❣
Question: Does Our Per Capita reflect correct figure? If we formalized whole economy, Per Capita will go up?
To paraphrase one of your military dictators "pak will eat grass, if it has to, to keep the enmity with India going" aur dekho wo din literally aa gya. Enjoy the meal, bon Appétit.
Great men
