I am an Indian and watch muzammil very keenly and regularly . He is a priceless asset for the youth of all developing societies which survive and progress on thinking and innovations . The day such intellectual debates stops in such societies and the political debates take their place, the decay starts ! All the so called established anchors of Pakistan/ India call representatives of different political parties, engage them in cockfighting , watch them and show ends . Some theatrics during the show and communication skills, personality of anchor decides the TRP or so called popularity . More the advertisement, moe revenue and more refining of these telecasting techniques ! Take example of PMLN, PPP, PTI and few other, their entire ideology , thought, plans can be explained in two or maximum of a dozen programs ! But their reps are called for years and years and their wisdom is thrusted on viewers ! What they have to offer ? Very sorry state of affairs indeed . In these circumstances Muzammil, Parvez Hoodbhy, Taimur Rehman and few others provide a voice of sanity ! Hence I call him priceless . Detoxification of the minds from this viral attack of mass media is essential .

One of the most awaited podcasts ~ So glad to see two intellectuals showing us how to debate with logic while being respectful towards each other. Just phenomenal. Kudos to both of you! 👍
That’s exactly what is wrong with this guy. He knew he has to get power before he can bring in “reforms” but he said Imran Khan just wanted power for power sake. Arey bhai, Imran wanted Power to change the system and he thought being the Prime Minister of Pakistan will give him that power. But he realised that Military establishment can’t be shook and he even accepted it publicly. And now he is saying he will again run for the power with a bigger support so that possibly he has finally have enough power to make Military bend knees to the Nation. What’s wrong with that? Muzammil is like Indian far left liberal which is a good thing for Pakistani politics but his ideas only sound good, when they do, in Pakistani context. His philosophy isn’t universally applicable.
What a healthy debate that was !! This was so worth to watch .. dear muzamil Hassan a kindly request to you that we need more podcast with Syed muzamil... I swear now this one and half hour was so worth and most valuable to me than my entire schooling and college education.. We need more people like you SMO 💖👑
Syed Muzammil shah ( guest) is a giant at this young age, he will probably become a phenomenon in a near future.. Intellectual like him is a need of time, his thoughts makes you realise that how less I know..Next level Guru hai..his smile is killer but his serious poker face has a different level depth..
Syed Muzammil (the guest of this podcast) has helped me tremendously in u/s philosophy, politics, philanthropy and above all having the strength to face the music and not run from harsh realities and one of the prime learnings for me was to gain strength, power above all else before deep diving into personal pursuits of voicing and asserting yourself - so grateful to this gem of a political and social scientist -
The right is rising in the west and east because of a rediscovery of the reality of islam. Because you guys are unable to recognize it for what it is - you will forever be wondering. For everyone else this ideology is the worst thing in the world since the guy with the chaplin moustache who liked putting people into brick kilns You will keep wondering why people don't like you, when the rest of the world is busy figuring out how to solve this problem without resorting to the same moral standard that muslims have resorted to throughout history. I could argue for any other religion to have good parts but not yours!
Please learn the meaning of what Social Scientist is. Does Muzmil have the requisite qualifications of a Social Scientist? Has he worked in that field? If the answer is no, find a real Social Scientist to learn from. At best he is a polemicist; in his particular case an exponent of a damaging form critical thinking that casts a cynical negativity on anything that he disagrees with, blinding him to even positive truths. Also how is someone who speaks against altruism and for individualism inspiring you to be philanthropic?
@@upscaspirant1820 I fail to see how a person who is so full of contempt towards those he disagrees with (e.g. calling people low IQ or mentally ill) can inspire any form of altruism that does not forward his own personal cause.
Strongly agree with each & everyhting Syed Muzammil Shah said, He is the most Rational person & he always talk with facts, very knowledgable podcast, Tysm for calling him, He's truly a Gem❤️
I commend the host for posing these specific questions particularly in the second half of the conversation. I've wanted to hear the guest's take on such particular things. Impressive young men. Hope our future generations are taking notes.
Aray waaah!!! Today I just watched Syed Muzammil Shah's TH-cam channel and I truly impressed to hear his daring, purposeful and critical analysis on different untouched topics for the very first time, and now I'm going to watch him on Muzamil's Podcast. This guy is amazing & has balls to talk about sensitive topics with an unbiased and realistic approach.
SMS is one of the few anti-IK media persons whose dislike of IK is totally independent of personal gain/ loss and based on sheer rationality and an anti-conservative intellectual approach. Despite being a believer in "IK hope", I respect him a lot for his true liberal mindset. I shall start following him, now; Thanks tbt; for introducing me to one of the best young minds in Pakistan.
He is demotivating people. Ik is giving hope to over 220 million people and saying u r a gr8 nation but what SMS is doing? Really disappointed by Muzammil Shah..
Finally the thoughts of liberal person towards this society, Muzammil shah shows how thinking critical thinking can improve your perspective towards whats happening around the world and how you see things.

1:28:00 this monologue of 4 minutes sent chills down my spine, what a man spoke the truth so ruthlessly that it shook the podcaster. There are Pakistanis who know and understand what has actually happened in the country. Kudos man.
Yeah by diverting the question on why Muzammil (guest) wants to secularise the education system. Look what he answers in that 4 minute monologue, some history of how state sponsored Salafism, Pashtoon etc but no answer on secularising the education.
@@sadamhussainshaikh5392 Secularising the education system is a bad thing? @@sahasss7100 you give me your argument on why secularising the education is good for Pakistan? If there are problematic texts, they should reviewed and removed. You should be concerned about Muzammil’s (Guest) whataboutery, as he cleverly diverted the second last question.

I have been watching this guest guy for a long time and one thing i would say he is more attracted towards big personalities rather than being towards ideas .In his every talk you will listen many philosophers quote to make his argument more meaningful.
Talking about and criticizing the darkness of the Society is sympathy with suffering humanity not pessimism. Intelligence plus pure heart Syed Muzammil Shah ❤️
Syed Muzammil shah has revolutionary and enlightened ideas that I feel are inevitable and current need of time to bring change in Pakistan. On the other side, Muzammil Hassan's opinions depict that he wished for transformation by continuing with the existing system and his views are reformist in nature. I sense we need a grand transition in our political system to get the desired result. One most prominent reform is to place the power and mandate in one place because I feel it is the biggest hindrance to the development of Pakistan.
We need more people like syed muzammil in the media honestly I learned too much from this debate. Specially in the last when he talk about Pashton and baloch❤

Just amazing! ❤️ This was the best talk I have heard from Syed Muzammil, not his lives or other videos. This is the masterpiece, he doesn't talk about solutions; do this or don't do this... I must commend Muzammil's (the Host) ability to question in such a way that he made Muzammil ( the Guest) to find defense for his arguments. This is the kind of debate I love to see. I used to think the host was not that well versed, but he has changed my mind with this podcast. Love your approach bro. The first time I have seen Muzammil (the Guest) falter in a conversation. That's how it should be, challenging conversations & debates.
The guy seemed flabergasted. He was using words like extrapolated and had his biases fixed till the guest systematically broke him done. The host seemed like a privelleged guy who had no Real Argument.
Such a thought provoking debate, and i am already a huge fan of Syed Muzammil Hussain, and now i must say I like him more than ever. And I agree with him 100% what he has said.
So I was not listening to this one again because Syed Muzammil Shah, his content is not my cup of tea and I think for several reasons I have many disagreements with him. But I still watched it, complete till the end. Because it captivated me after sometime. I see where he is coming from, I understand why he is giving such opinions, where he got these thoughts from and being logical with everything. Now I still have my disagreements with him and I think they will remain there. My most major disagreement is with the rigidity of his opinion's nature. With such negativity and rigidness, like he said all 8 billion people are different, how with such rigidity you expect them to move forward together. Pakistan specially in such times don't need this negativity, but I appreciate his rationale and intention to be logical. I congratulate the host and guest both on conducting such a beautiful debate, Enjoyed it, learned from it.
Muzzammil, the interviewer, is speechless. Bravo Muzammil, the guest. Religion should be taught at home. The host kept saying religion won’t be taught to children of the rich, no, it would be, at home. Schools need to teach Critical thinking.
At what point was he speechless actually? The points he raised for economy or when he said leaving the religion in the hands of dumb molvis could be disastrous?
This is clearly one of the most amazing podcast that I have listened to on TBT. Rationalisation of intellects is one of the most important things that Pakistan needs.
Beautifully articulated, how Muzammil (host) rationally challenged the ideology and scratched the surface to get the reasons, AMAZING. I think regardless of one's point of view, this is the sort of dialogue we need to improve as individuals as well as a Nation. Hats off!!

What a beautiful debate. First time ever in history of TBT, a guest has ever made Muzzamil kinda speechless (especially over his political beliefs) supported by logic and rationale.
Pakistan needs people like Syed Muzammil Shah in mainstream. This guy clearly knows what he's talking about and look how rationale he is. If only politicians were like him. How do you expect intellectuals, scientists to believe in any religion is a wonder to me. How can one study and see the proof of evolution and how universe came to existence and still be religious? I haven't seen anyone who has read Sagan and is still religious.
Feeling so politically illiterate, I literally take notes on guest muzamil's points. There's a shift, now instead of watching Netflix I watch these podcasts to understand thought behind thing happening around us. I can't agree more to his last point that we need philosophical enlightenment Thank you for this informative discussion.
I have felt a similar shift. Because of my routine I'd never find time to do research or understand stuff esp politics. And so i never formed an opinion on Pakistani politics and i always stayed impartial. But now i understand how to think, and i feel equipped. I have definitely replaced Netflix with such podcasts. Definitely might rewatch
What he said about pashtun is very true. I used to be a patriotic pashtun who was very patriotic towards Pakistan but when they picked up my innocent uncle and shot him in his house, I changed. Now I'm a loy Afghanistan supporter.
Very unbiased opinion he has on politics and history. We need more people like him. He also needs to start a history channel in which he can define history too. Overall most amazing podcast of the time and the most unbiased person.

Thank you Muzamil!!!..for calling him up. He does not get the fame, the sub's, the recognition...but he's one in millions. As he told that he went to school in Lahore, the kids there have a liberal view, they don't get the people like Muzammil who have gone through the bumpy road. It's a 100 times true. He's right when he said you as a Islamabadi, getting privileges not prevalent to the whole Pakistan and him(which is most of us) have gone through which you guys have not.
Muzzamil Hassan, you did a great job to counter him on some of the points. I watched his podcast with Ganji swag and he was just saying yes and Ok to each of his point. Apprecited! ❤
that's your bias bro!! in his pashtoon topic he diverted the topic from secularism to pashton this and didn't provide with any solution of what muzammil hassan asked. plus he is the host and if guest is diverting the topic but passionately then host had to respect it anyway.
I don't think so , because though I don't propose the state to be the monopoly on religious academia. . . Same shouldn't be for a privately funded organization or a non state actor . . . It is a core instrument to change regimes during cold war
Actually he wasn't able to answer what tbt guy was asking, all he said was Ayub did this Zia did this. Yes we all agree Zia brought that extreme religious perspective and fed it to masses through Madrissas. Wouldn't mainstreaming the Madrissas and making that intellectual community read and teach the religion solve that issue? If you think we shouldn't bring the intellectual brains of the society, which actually is predominantly religious community, in teaching the religion or atleast doing some sort research in this then wouldn't we be giving space to brain dead molvis to ruin this for our coming generation and allow them to make more TLP like extremist goons? Exactly what Khan been trying to say? This podcast has been great but he failed miserably to defend his bias against single national curriculum.
@@muhammadazhar308 Arn't you contradicting yourself? Are you not agreeing that in Ayub and Zia time the state took responsibility of disseminate the religion and it turned out horrible? How exactly doing the same thing and mainstreaming would be better? What intellectual community you are talking about? Madrissas? But didn't you confirm that Madrissas did more harm? People choose Madrissa because they don't have money to go to better schools. So it's not about mainstreaming the Madrissas but the other way round. We instead need modern education. You wrote about TLP that's precisely what Madrissas did, how on earth you would correct it by going back to it? And please read more about how SNC was executed, there were so many violations, here are a few: - 18th amendment don't even allow Federal to dictate or push SNC down the throat of masses. So first they should kill 18th amendment. For PTI this is just a show, to fool people. If they are really sincere, go ahead and kill 18th amendment. - Article 22, everyone has a right to study their own religion. No educational institute can push a religion down ones throat that they don't follow. - In SNC, even in English and Urdu books they have added chapters on Islamic education. This is a complete violation. - Mullah were invited to even regulate Biology books. The same brain-dead molvis were handed charge to ruin science as well.
@@alihaider5190 State's responsibility is to protect people. If a privately funded organization is within legal bounds and is not forcing masses so be it. Let people decide what they want to hear. Why we always assume that people/masses are like sheep and brain-dead? Let people decide!
@@ahsanshafiqchaudhry dear we shall definitely let people decide but people sending their kids to madrasa are not actually making an informed choice. . The are only choosing to opt what they can. . . Also many of these institutes are not regulated. . . State has a job to regulate all institutes. . . Leaving religion in the hands of free market will exploit the poor . . . It doesn't matter what they feel about it. . .
Syed Muzammil is the biggest Intellectual and Critical Thinker to ever being born in Pakistan and even in Eastern World...He is a ray of hope in the Era of darkness... ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Un-learning the dogma we've grown to believe and to re-learn the past is a painful journey...but the fact that we're talking about it is awesome. Thank you for a wonderful podcast! Hassan did a great job in posing the centrist views that a lot of "politically silent" Pakistanis hold but Shah's poignant replies were amazing especially the rebuttal that the hegemony of the state over religion is simply wrong and it is an injustice to religion itself! Being a Muslim does not mean to jump your interpretation down someone else's throat. The Prophet SAW is the only personality who we cannot have a difference of opinion with but can with anyone else...hence the space for interpretation was left open by his own Sunnah. Perhaps if we humanize the Prophet SAW and see that his actual mission was just to give Allah's message and tell humanity that there is indeed a life after this one, maybe then we can understand that politics has no religion, it is simply a human necessity that has evolved over the centuries from monarchies to democracy in order to provide order to the masses who would otherwise kill each other.
Watched word by word time and again with more hunger to listen to. Very informative, effective, pursuasive and thoughts provoking. Proud to have a person like Syed Muzammil here in Pakistan.
I was curious about your guest Muzammil Shah ever since I herd his name mentioned on a couple of other channels including by Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza. Your conversation clarified a lot for me about his way of thinking. Please accept my gratitude for having this conversation!
Interesting to see two guys representing two factions of the society, the host Muzamil is from the mainstream class that ideology of binary; religion oriented focusing on good and bad has produced and the guest Muzammil is the respondent to such ideologies. Later's views are rare and it is encouraging to see them coming out at such forums which celebrate IK and clueless youth (I hope wasn't harsh). My appreciation for Political theory grows to see such guests.

In these circumstances Muzammil, Parvez Hoodbhy, Taimur Rehman and few others provide a voice of sanity ! Hence I call him priceless . Detoxification of the minds from this viral attack of mass media is essential .

Mention the timing please.. mujhe lahza dekhna hai…
yes but to fight with powerful and to present POV

Intellectual like him is a need of time, his thoughts makes you realise that how less I know..Next level Guru hai..his smile is killer but his serious poker face has a different level depth..

He is one of the finest critical thinker.
Syed Muzammil Shah
Speaking facts which are not for everyone to digest, even the host couldn't handle him at times
The host couldn't help exposing his crush for Niazi 😂
Syed Muzammil (the guest of this podcast) has helped me tremendously in u/s philosophy, politics, philanthropy and above all having the strength to face the music and not run from harsh realities and one of the prime learnings for me was to gain strength, power above all else before deep diving into personal pursuits of voicing and asserting yourself - so grateful to this gem of a political and social scientist -
The right is rising in the west and east because of a rediscovery of the reality of islam. Because you guys are unable to recognize it for what it is - you will forever be wondering. For everyone else this ideology is the worst thing in the world since the guy with the chaplin moustache who liked putting people into brick kilns
You will keep wondering why people don't like you, when the rest of the world is busy figuring out how to solve this problem without resorting to the same moral standard that muslims have resorted to throughout history.
@@prowest6715 because "altruism is also sub-part of individualism" think on this brother and come
@@upscaspirant1820 I fail to see how a person who is so full of contempt towards those he disagrees with (e.g. calling people low IQ or mentally ill) can inspire any form of altruism that does not forward his own personal cause.

I commend the host for posing these specific questions particularly in the second half of the conversation. I've wanted to hear the guest's take on such particular things. Impressive young men. Hope our future generations are taking notes.

1:28:00 this monologue of 4 minutes sent chills down my spine, what a man spoke the truth so ruthlessly that it shook the podcaster. There are Pakistanis who know and understand what has actually happened in the country. Kudos man.
exactly he gave voice to all the voiceless of pakistan
Yeah by diverting the question on why Muzammil (guest) wants to secularise the education system. Look what he answers in that 4 minute monologue, some history of how state sponsored Salafism, Pashtoon etc but no answer on secularising the education.
@@sadamhussainshaikh5392 Secularising the education system is a bad thing? I have been watching this guest guy for a long time and one thing i would say he is more attracted towards big personalities rather than being towards ideas .In his every talk you will listen many philosophers quote to make his argument more meaningful.

And please read more about how SNC was executed, there were so many violations, here are a few:
- 18th amendment don't even allow Federal to dictate or push SNC down the throat of masses.
@@ahsanshafiqchaudhry dear we shall definitely let people decide but people sending their kids to madrasa are not actually making an informed choice. . The are only choosing to opt what they can. . .

Please accept my gratitude for having this conversation!
credit to youtube podcasters for doing a healthy debate without much BS. Mainstream media should follow!!
Both of you spoke very well but I agree with 90% of what Syed Muzamil Shah said..
Pushtoons love terrorism 🤮🤢🤢
The biggest most influential person.! Syed muzzamil shah... i love those most critical facts...!
You can keep your microphones at 45 degree angle instead of right in front of yourselves. These are condenser mics as far as I can see and can still capture good sound from a little distance, unlike the dynamic mics. Your face is blocked by the mics…and the mics are also picking unwanted clicking sounds inside the mouths….as for the conversation, I really enjoyed it. Keep up the good work.
The interaction from 46:00 for about 10 mins in the video is pure gold!!
Syed Muzammil Shah Totally Nailed it❤️
Loved how authentic and brutally honest the guest was.
