    Nice video David. That rake does a great job. I vote for rock or gravel over bark. I have some rock gardens but I do find if there isn’t enough sun, rocks turn green with algae and need a pressure washing. What a superb gift you provided on Monday nights live chat! Thanks for the chance at winning that. Very gracious of you! Thumbs up everyone. 👍👍👍

      Hey Jim! It was my pleasure! That part of the land is on the southeast part of the property and get's quite a bit of sunlight most of the year so I don't think it will be a problem. But even if it is, I have a brand new pressure washer to play with LOL. Thank you again, my friend. I hope you have a great week. :)

      Hey Martin! 100% agree on that statement, my friend! The fabric/rock combo will require way less maintenance than bark and will simply look better. I've never really liked bark in these kinds of beds and I like pine needles (like in GA or MS) even less!! Thanks for watching, my friend! :)

    I love that rake: I need me one of those too! I am about to get rid of all of my mulch and replace it with rock. My chickens keep digging all my mulch out into the yard and in the sidewalks. 😂

    • @PaleHorseOutdoors
      @PaleHorseOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love it too, Lucas. With the rake and box blade you can do almost anything short of a proper tilling. The only thing I have left on my wish list for the 3 point is a rear blade. How much mulch do you have to remove? Will you use your BX for that?

    Great job with the rake, it looks good. I like the idea of rock but it depends on how much debris you are expecting to drop from the trees. Cool stickers, we just got David's stickers too.

    • @PaleHorseOutdoors
      @PaleHorseOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, Joseph! There will be a fairly significant amount of fall from the trees. My hope is that I can use my blower there without disturbing the bed. I've tried to use a blower on bark before and it's too light. I can blow leaves from my driveway and parking pad without disturbing the rock significantly so that's the hope for this area, too. It sure does, David! I've used bark in several different states including MS, HI, GA and even in Germany - and it always fades after a few months in the sun and rots over a couple of winters. Rock isn't perfect, but way less maintenance. I'm not very familiar with WA rock so we're going to the quarry down the road to see what they have. Thanks for watching, buddy :)

      @@PaleHorseOutdoors I think you would be happy with 1-1/4 to 1-1/2” gravel.. I used it in our driveway, that has a decent grade, and it dissipates the rain very well, compared to the smaller gravel that was originally used. Your application is somewhat different, but I think larger rock will look better for your garden.
