I had a Brit one in 1974. My first big bike! Toured two up all over English Lake District. Beautiful...Loved it!

My brother and I purchased one of these a Honda 400- 4 SS in about 1975. It’s still out in the shed in running condition.
Rusty exhaust , otherwise very very good condition.
I remember we got a great deal on it new, because of the styling as a cafe racer they did not sell well…
    Now they are a classic.

I bought one brand new in 1975for $1250. I have one comment it was not CB model. They were streetbikes.the 400FOUR was built as a CAFE racer but was never accepted on that genre so was marketed as a street bike for the 1 or 2 years they were made. Honda did make 4 cyl CB 350. I rode mine a a daily driver until late 80's including commute fro San Diego to Long Beach for 6 months. I loved that highwinding bike bit health forced sale. Sold in Bremerton WA but wonder what ever happened to now. Video brought memories.

I had a red 75 CB400F bought used with about 4000 miles in 1978 for $900. Over the years I put a Kerker 4 into 1, K&N pods, 85? main jets in the carbs, 7" headlight, nylon (?) rear sprocket with a gearing change that lowered RPM to 5000 @ 60mph, new chain and front sprocket, Timken tapered roller bearings in the steering head, bronze bushings in the swingarm, S&W dual spring shocks, heavier weight oil in the forks, friction cruise control, new grips, bar end mirrors, moved the rear rim up front, and bought a wider rim for the back so I could fit wider tires. Got some soft saddlebags, a tankbag, a duffle and road it all over the Northeast a couple times camping and staying in youth hostels. Used to take off from college (U of Maryland) on the weekends and ride Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway...it didn't get any better than that. Loved to roll through stop signs in 2nd gear and roll on the throttle just to hear the intake moan and exhaust...chills. Reliable, smooth, and still (to my biased eyes) one of the best looking motorcycles ever. Sadly, my circumstances changed and I had to sell it in 2010.

I had a 1975 red CB400f that I bought used in 1978 for $550. I only had a learners permit when I got it. A few years later I had an accident beyond belief on it and killed it and myself. About a years and half later I got another one and had it for a number of years and had way to much on it. Then I got married and made choice to pursue a new kind of fun. I miss my Motorcycles, and now that I have been widowed a few years and my son is getting older and out of high school I think it is time for a new old bike.

Had the same bike. Red, too. Rode it from Mt. Shasta to Ventura and back dozens of times, month after month. It would ride as long as you could sit.

    Beautiful bike!
Do you have the front fender stays? I noticed they had been removed.
Also, the muffler attached to the stock header is not stock (as mentioned). Not a big deal but someone might care.
I'm also curious about the flanged rims, what brand?

It's a nice bike, but almost anyone looking for a CB400F Super Sport would MUCH prefer to have the original exhaust, seat, shocks, fender stays, etc. properly installed and in perfect order. And it seems more than a little odd that the chrome finish on the stock four into one exhaust would show that much wear on a bike with such low "documented" miles and such extensive "documented" service as that one. The stock four into one exhaust on my CB400F Super Sport was absolutely flawless at that mileage, and one can only assume that the bike you're selling has been running those hideous aftermarket pipes for quite some time.

@@nickshades6727 Nick seriously this was 4 years ago, lighten up.
$826 service for new grips, mirrors, and brake fluid replacement,, cleaning, way overstated service cost.
Needs a 100 dollar h/l beam switch not installed.
The bike should have brought 4000.00 with the original exhaust included.
