I bought one in 1977. Still have it and handed it down to my daughter and son in law. Great bike and fun to ride

Best bike ever. That was my first bike. It came stock with flatter bars, though. Sexist exhaust headers of any bike ever made.

My first motorcycle I bought was in 1975 and it was the Honda CB400F and it was BLUE! great bike Never had a issue with it in the 2 years I had it before trading it in for a Honda CB750F. That was also a great motorcycle. But it's like your first love, you never forget your first motorcycle.

My friend had one and I rode it a few times. I loved it! At 400ccs it was great around town, and it gave mean idea what the 750 must have been like. I still want one of those!

I first saw a 400 four in 1976 when I was 17. I thought I must get one, one day. I had to wait another 20 years, but it was well worth the wait. The bike was everything I hoped it would be.

Anybody who doesn’t agree that it’s the coolest 400 ever made needs to get their head examined. Those headers!!!

Yeah I am definitely regretting selling my 75 400 four myself, it does kind of suck now that I think about it but maybe I will find another one someday, but at least I did replace it with a CB750, by the way brother your little boy is getting so big I cannot believe how much he's grown, oh how the time just flys right!!?

Had one in red with a 4 into one kerker exhaust a set of clip on bars and a most Definitely needed on it steering damper !
Wish I had never sold it but it was starting to nickel and dime me too much to afford to keep it even though I kept it in great mechanical condition!

I remember lusting after one of these back in the 70s. They cost between £700 and £800 in the UK back then but they were still too much for me - I had to make do with a second hand MZ 250. Still a beautiful bike.

I found this channel due to the famous pre production K0 video. After looking through some other videos I see you're in OR and a lot of the bikes in your videos I've seen for sale. The denver chopper as well as the pearl 350f. I also saw your bike at the one show last year. Seems like you find a lot of good finds which is funny because with my bookmarked search we are probably looking at the same stuff. I'm in WA. I noticed this one has a WA plate. I actually just finished restoring one of these in June. Now I'm starting a 750 chopper build

very Cool Video..and an awesome Barn find....,i had a Honda CB400/4 F2 in blue back in 1981 it had a full race fairing and clip on handlebars..it was my first real Bike and having four cylinders it made you feel like you were on a much bigger bike than 400cc..watching your video made me think about it for the first time in many years....it would be great if your were able to restore yours back to original but it does look like an awful lot of work you would need to do.

A common mistake Americans make when removing the screws from the case of a Japanese bike is to use a Phillips screwdriver or bit when they are actually JIS (Japanese Industry Standard) and a Phillips will strip out the head. A trick if you can't find a JIS driver is to take a #2 or #3 phillips driver bit depending on the size of the screw and just grind the tip down slightly until the blades of it bottom in the screw head. Phillips drivers are a little more pointy than JIS and grinding the tip makes for a cheap fit. Also, to recognize JIS screws look for a tiny dot stamped into the head near the X slots, usually towards the center at one of the points. Back in the day, we didn't know why they always stripped out the head of the screws and just replaced them with Allen head bolts because we just thought they were weak. A good thing to remember when disassembling the carbs too. Look for the dot.

Some one added tall bars on that blue one none came with high bars they all had very low rise bars as this was hondas first cafe/ sport bike the 4 into 1 low bars had rearset pegs and short shift linkage, back then most shifters were mounted direct to shaft. I owned full original blue 75 400 four in 78 I know these bikes I love these bikes.

That bike should have been made full size, like at least 800cc's. Same short stroke, hot cam and 6 speeds. Could have changed history.

@@KFLY67 modern car oils have friction modifiers in them that mess with wet clutches , it will basically make your clutch slip. back in the day oil was oil, not anymore

I had the same color as my first street bike right out of high school I think it might be a 76 or the tank has been changed because I think 75 didn't come with the locking gas cap because mine was a 75 and it didn't have that and I was reading somewhere they added the locking gas cap in 76 I mean it could very well be a 75 frame somebody put a 76 gas tank on it
