  • Wondering how to get rid of your acne? Maybe Doxycycline will help! Here's how I cleared my skin + my skincare routine! This is my 3-4 month POST doxycycline skin update; I took doxycycline for 1 month. Luckily my skin has stayed clear and I'm just working on getting my scarring and pigmentation to go away! I also include my skincare routine which may help some of you out there who are deciding on what to try for your skin :)

    Hey guys! It's been 5 years since I've made this video, and my acne came back... but it's getting better with what I'm doing now! I have a new video where I talk all about it if you're interested 💜 I truly hope you're all doing well ✨th-cam.com/video/JI9Je-pjheU/w-d-xo.html

    I just watched your video on 1 month using doxycycline and moved into this one but wow!! Your skin has become so beautiful sis your GLOWING 👏 I just started doxycycline yesterday and I'm hoping its the solution to all my acne troubles although I'm already started to have stomach problems :(

      THANK YOU!! 💓 Are you taking probiotics with the doxycycline? That should help with stomach issues! Drinking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar diluted with water will also give you lots of probiotics! I like to do this every morning :) Good luck!!! And keep me updated on your skin journey :)

    • @greta_jane
      @greta_jane  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I'm obviously not a doctor, so I can only say from my personal experience that it's totally normal to get new breakouts after just one week! If after a full month you're still getting new breakouts and there's no improvement you may want to talk with your dermatologist :) Good luck!!!

Not to be dramatic but this acne kinda makes me wanna die...I don't want to do anything but hideaway. Can you make a video on having confidence with acne? PLEASE!!!!!!! You are so inspirational! I'm so sorry to hear your acne has been causing you to feel this way. I can totally relate. It's hard to have to wear such a deep insecurity for everyone to see. I know it's hard to hope sometimes, but I truly believe that you will find something that will clear your skin. Be patient with yourself :) I would absolutely love to make a video about having confidence with acne! Maybe I'll add it in as a topic for my weekly Friday uploads. When I was taking doxycycline I was also using a sulfur based face wash, topical antibiotic, spot treating with benzoyl peroxide, and using a basic moisturizer. It just depends on the severity of your acne, what your dermatologist recommends, and what you feel comfortable with :) If anything, just be sure to wash your face with a basic face wash and moisturize with a basic moisturizer at least once a day (morning and or night). I hope this helps :)

    I'm almost 24 years old, male and just started doxycycline today, I was on minocycline for 8 months, went off of antibiotics , now back on, I told my derm I wanted to try accutane I'm just at that point, then he tells me to take this instead first and I said this isn't pretty much what I was taking before, but he told me doxycycline is a bit stronger than minocycline, regardless , then he tells me "based on your acne, if you were to take accutane, "it would COMPLETELY get rid of the problem", that's what I'm looking for! I think doctors do this in general just so you come back and give them more business, i don't get much acne on face and it's never been that bad there, but where I get it more is on my back and shoulders, it's been happening for a year and a half now, and it's just as bad as having in on your face IMO, hope this works better plus topical treatments

    • @greta_jane
      @greta_jane  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It all depends on the person, but for me personally it's been 3 years since taking it and it hasn't come back. It all depends on how each individual body responds to the medicine and what the root cause of the acne is from. I guess what I'm saying is that it'll work for some but not for others.

    • @greta_jane
      @greta_jane  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Doxycycline on its own won't necessarily help pigmentation and scaring, but there are two prescribed products I use that have really helped with my skin: SulfaCleanse, this is a sulfur based face wash and it's seriously AMAZING! And Clindamycin which is a topical antibiotic that has dramatically improved my redness. Again, both of these products are prescription products so you'll need to ask your dermatologist about them :) I'll be doing lots of skin related videos this year so stay tuned!!

    • @greta_jane
      @greta_jane  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Listen to how your body responds to it and if it makes you feel sick, then I would stop taking it! Make sure you're taking it with food and water at the same time everyday :) Probiotics are really good to add in too when you're on any antibiotic! It's always possible for the acne to come back, and usually if it does, that tells us that there's something else triggering it that the doxycycline doesn't help, like diet (sugar and dairy can be triggers), exercise, environmental factors, and lifestyle. It's totally worth giving the doxycycline a chance, but these other factors are super important to look at too, especially if the doxycycline doesn't work or the acne comes back. Wishing you all the best! 🤍
