  • This doxycycline video will (hopefully) give you everything you need to know about doxycycline. Doxycycline really helped clear my skin, and my acne is mostly gone, which I am soooo grateful for!! I hope that my experience is encouraging to those of you who feel at a loss as to what to do to clear your skin. I'm thinking about all of you and wishing you success in finding clarity for your skin. Never forget how important YOU are. Your acne doesn't take away from your worth. As cheesy as it is, beauty really does come from within.
Thank you so much for watching ❤️

I have been taking doxycycline pills for one month already now. On the first weeks my skin looks like improving so much but the last three days I started to have a lot of breakouts. If doxycycline doesn't end up working for you, I'd recommend pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) instead! I've used it recently to clear my skin .... here's a link to a video where I talk about it: th-cam.com/video/3HDdUwQJN8s/w-d-xo.html
It's so frustrating when things work or only work partially, but just know that there are definitely things that will heal your skin whether it be diet, supplementation, reduction in stress, etc. You'll find your healing! Wishing you all the best!!

To keep a routine I get up at 7, eat something small like a granola bar or hard boiled egg and my vitamins and then at 9:30 I have an alarm set to take my first dose of doxyclycine and it helped with the nausea soooo much! Then I take it again at 9:00pm 2 hours after I’ve had dinner. I’m only on my first week but I have already noticed a difference in the redness and size of my blemishes

This might be TMI (or not idk) but this stuff is GREAT at getting rid of body acne. For whatever reason, I started to form painful cysts in various places on my body and some minor acne on my face and arms. Not only did 2 weeks of doxycycline take down a huge infected cyst i had, but it also made my face so smooth. I think they gave me a super high dose though. The only side effect I had was severe skin peeling on my hands and feet which was pretty scary but that cleared up a month later or so. I thought I should share because not many people have mentioned body acne here on TH-cam :) hope this can help someone scrolling through the comments

    • @juicyqt6542

Took doxycycline for 2 weeks, not for acne, but for a different bacteria infection.
My skin as well started peeling on my hands and feet. Started googling and found out doxycycline causes Stephen Johnson Syndrome and TENS which is severe. It's a well known side effect in which doctors hardly talk about or know anything about.
      It's an allergic reaction.
I'm now waiting on my skin to get better since I stopped the medication, and I'm waiting on my doctor to see what she can prescribe to me since I'm allergic to the cillin and cline family.
I'm so glad I saw your comment.

I’m 27 and for some reason I started breaking out really bad, I’ve never had to deal with acne before. Never had acne in my teens occasional pimples, but my face was basically clear all of my life. I started getting horrible breakouts and still don’t know why. I couldn’t control it, it was frustrating and it was affecting me mentally. Went to the doc and got prescribed doxy and benzoyl peroxide. For now have not experienced any side effect, no nausea, no dizziness, as of now no breakouts(knock on wood). I’ve been able to control it in just six days, still get some small pimples, but not getting 5 huge pimples a day. Currently taking one pill of 100mg doxy a day. We’ll see how it goes. Will try to update my results here.
My skin routine, meds and vitamins:
    Cerave benzoyl peroxide cleanser
    Cerave morning lotion
    Cerave retinol
    Cerave night lotion
    Vitamin A
    Vitamin E
    Zinc (take with food alone)

hi guys, I started using doxycycline and benzoyl peroxide, I don't have very bad skin I just have bumps here and there on my cheeks and forehead I did start using aspect another good skin care for awhile but I stopped using it as it didn't rlly help.. I'm putting updates down below...
day 1 - omg seeing a bit of a difference and my skin is dry but thats probably because of the benzoyl peroxide.
day 2- seeing a difference with my forehead the bumps are so much smaller and my skin feels a bit smoother.
day 3- the bumps are smaller but my skin is very dry.
day4- I was in the sun for awhile and I got such a bad sun burn but I put good sunscreen on.
day5- ok my skin hurts probably because I was in the sun to much and when I put aloevera on it stings like hell learnt to stay away from the sun.
day 6- bruh my skin hurts as helllll and is very dry I stopped using benzoyl peroxide for awhile but I'm seeing a difference my bumps are mostly gone BUT MY SKIN HURTS AHHHHH :(((
im probably going to give my skin a break since it hurts but so far no side affects of any sickness accept for the bad sunburns around my cheeks.
Day 7- my skin got rlly bad because it was dry and red but I rlly recommend using this treatment called white soft paraffin the doctor recommended it and it felt soothing and better and I had more moisture on my face and less dry.
Day 8- my skin is less dry
Day 9- went on the boat and put 50+ sunscreen on
Day 10- my skin isn’t red anymore yay and not dry as much! I’m sooo happy with the results of my skin it looks so good around my cheeks! I have literally none on my cheeks now !

I was about to sleep but i was thinking that i should write my experience about doxycycline and how i cleared my skin kn less than 2 months. So here i am. Last 2 and half months i popped my cyst acne and it starting so get worse. My mom said i will take to the doctor if that gets worse in few weeks. So my acne did get worse and then my mom is gon take me to the doctor so I refused becase i dont want people to look at my face. So yeah day later, my mom took me to the doctor and gave me doxycycline and said its just to clean the inside of the skin. Took it for 14 days and it cleared a bit. Now we went back, they gave me a benzoyl peroxide mixed with some kind of gel for the outside of my skin. I took both of them at the same time every night. DRINK THE DOXYCYCLINE 2 HOURS AFTER OR BEFORE YOU EAT SOMETHING BECAUSE IT WILL HEAL UR ACNE FASTER. So yeah whenever i drink the doxycycline, i feel dizzy and kinda want to throw up because it’s clearing up those bacteria from ur head to body. Sometimes i put ice on my face to fasten the heal and it kinda worked. The red spots disappeared. now i started washing my face with exfoliating face wash i used (nivea exfoliating face scrub) the blue one and it made my skin heal a lot faster. I used hot water to wash my face then applied the face scrub, massage it for minute or so and wash it with cold water. Do not scrub the towel to dry ur face . So i stopped using doxycycline last month. My acne disappeared and didn’t come back but im still using facewash and benzoyl peroxide. Dont eat or drink dairy if ur acne is worse.
I started on January 18 and my acne cleared on feb 20 or something.

I started using BP during Thanksgiving Break and my skin purged for about 3-5 weeks. After almost the first week the acne on my forehead went away and the acne on my cheeks didnt do much. As of now my forehead is completely clear from pimples but not dark spots :( my cheeks are doing better ever since + taking doxy but its TAKING FOREVER*

I've been dealing with acne for a long time since I was in Elementry school and I'm now a freshman in high school. My acne is not as bad as yours was but I'm having similar problems that you had. I've used many products and I've been using proactive to help with my acne, but for the most part, I have been dealing it instead of trying to get rid of it. I've been thinking about going to the dermatologist and getting professional help. One of my older family friends used doxycycline and it helped her a lot so I've been thinking if I could go on it.

@@ver8o9nica54 since what this medication was an antibiotic prescription I had to stop taking them only because it was giving me problems down there (yeast infections), it’s common if one takes too much antibiotics for a long period of time. That happened to be my case. Doxycline apparently is one of the main antibiotics that can cause those problems for women. The antibiotic is getting rid of bad bacteria (acne), but it also gets rid of the good bacteria that a womens vg has, that can lead to infections such as bacterial vaginosis. So yes it helps with my acne, but unfortunately it was giving me problems so I had to stop taking them. Could be different for everyone! Take about a month or two for your skin to clear the problem is you can’t be on them forever because they harm the healthy bacteria in your body, for some people all they need is a round or two of antibiotics and their acne doesn’t come back for others you’re gonna need to implement topical medications from a dermatologist to keep your skin clear

Does this drug do the purge phase like accutane? And does it help with the dark spots/ hyperpigmentation while healing acne ?

    • @greta_jane
      @greta_jane  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I didn't personally experience a purge phase, but that's something you could ask your dermatologist. From what I understand, doxycycline prevents you from getting more acne so that the acne that's there has a chance to heal. So while the doxycycline itself might not help with dark spots, it would give your other skincare a chance to work its magic 😉🤗 I hope this helps!! Wishing you all the best ❤️

Also, spearmint tea can help hormonal acne. And dont consume soy, try ripple milk instead if going dairy free, soy has to much estrogen and will make acne worse.

Nope it doesn't. All it does is stop or reduce inflammation. Try retinol and vitmanic c for hyperpigmentatiom

I'm kind of in the process of shifting it around to make it more natural, maybe I'll make an updated video soon! ☺️

Your skin is so much better ❤️ you look amazing. I have a question how did you get rid of the pigmentations??? Thx

Thank you!! Getting rid of the pigmentation just takes time. The Clindamycin antibiotic definitely helped calm things down, but I think more then anything it's letting your skin naturally turn over. 🙃❤️

no! As far as I know doxycycline shouldn't effect your weight. Talk with you dermatologist about possible side effects :)
