In my alone time with the grill, we found middle ground, acceptance, and understanding.

The only thing that allows me to sleep in a car at night, is the feeling of safety, you know, solid chassis, beefy A and B pillars, curtain airbags, and maybe a crash test that ensures that the thing won’t just squeeze, and then......I will wake up every 5 minutes to make sure I’m not dead.

The first 12 minutes of this video is about moving automatic seats.
Cause Doug was spending a lot of time talking about them without pointing out how much they absolutely destroy the idea of a family SUV. We drove one for a week. We are X5 owners. We were going to get an X7. After driving the X7 for a week with 2 kids and a 3rd one on the way, we tired very quickly of that 3rd row access. It is utter trash, and Doug really should have highlighted that fact more than he did. Instead, he thought it was neat! He should have asked 4 kids to get into the back and illustrate for his audience how much of a pain the ass this vehicle is for loading up kids at school, soccer practice, etc.
The X5 has been incredibly popular in our area. The X7 appears to be a complete flop. As someone who had promised BMW to buy the X7 as soon as it came out (before knowing they were going with this really idiotic 3rd row access solution), I'm not shocked at all that it has been such a slow seller in my area.

The salesman at the dealership is the one who you should really be upset with. Because they’re supposed to be honest about this how of stuff. Also, if you can’t see how slow those seats move just by the video then who’s fault is that? Yours.... Doug doesn’t have to go in depth. Especially with kids in his videos. That’s a bit much.

Also, I drove this vehicle for a week. The rear seat access is atrocious and the X7 drives like a Cadillac or a Lincoln, not a BMW.
What are you talking about? He only talks about moving automatic seats for like two minutes. From 5:00 onwards, it's about third-row features such as charging ports, cup holders, climate zone controls, the sunroof, etc.

I bought this car, x40i in white. 3000 miles on it so far in like 1.5 months. Drove this thing EVERYWHERE. The ride in this car is absolutely amazing... and I didn't even get the preview road option. On highways it feels like gliding on ice. ON regular roads, over almost every bump the ride is so soft and luxurious. The suv is so damn quiet. I really recommend this to anyone who love driving SUVs. I have driven x5, GLE, and i previously owned the 2012 range rover sport. This car is better then all, although I loved the v8 engine in my range rover sport more lol

I think the 'wheels', i.e., rims are beautiful and definitely one highlight of this car. also their "spoke count" divides nicely by five, i.e., number of lug nuts, which unfortunately is not true for every "wheel" out there.

As always, great review Doug!
Doug, I wish you'd have mentioned Sport mode for the benefit of those who haven't driven one. It's pretty aggressive whether using paddle shifters or not if you want it to be. Despite some people's view that it doesn't handle or "corner well," I think they're just saying that because it's a larger vehicle. I feel this thing sticks like glue at all speeds. You're not going to get this thing to break loose without switching off a bunch of driver interventions and safety features. It's really fast, really comfortable, and I honestly can't believe how good this thing is. The front massaging seats are another amazing feature! I select full body workout and it's very relaxing! I'm driving a rental without the self-drive or 5K interior, but it's still rocks all around! When compared to my $38000 minivan, the X7 is definitely 2x the car (and price too)! Great review! Keep em coming!

Great review as always Doug! From a UX standpoint, I think the blinking red ambient light is to let the people in the car know that there is at least 1 door open. The other cars can already see the door open, if they can see the blinking ambient light.

I wanted to hate this thing but hey if I had money and kids that thing looks like a winner that interior with that two tone is killer. Third row sunroof, climate control, and heated seats? The x7 is the rolls Royce for kids. Kudos to BMW for adding type c charging.

The problem isn't the sheer size of the grill, it's the vertical size of it. It should've been more substantial horizontally and lesser so vertically.

I also think, that the grill is huge, but it matches the size and the idea of such a big luxury SUV. But I don’t like these (fake) air insets left and right. The front would be more elegant without these. But the taste different. The Asiens love such massive grills.

I just finished working on a 2020 bmw x7 m50i and it is An extremely nice vehicle. These cars are amazing and bmw builds the hell out of them.
Love these boats, watched many of the vids, this is one of the best, very well done.

When Doug made this video my moms 2023 x7 wasn’t purchased but now we just watched this video and we love ours we have drive cross country pulling, often a boat or trailer along with 4 kids filling up all the second and third row seats with two adults in front comfortable
