The reason we can buy them is not necessarily because we are a free country. Really in love with this SUV. I think I would pick this over Range Rover, I’m sure reliability is better on the X7 as well as price and the tech. Only thing Range Rover is better right now is their luxury interior design but I’d still take the X7 in first place.

Driving both the new X5 and X7. I purchased the X5 50i M-Sport as it feels like a performance/luxury SUV in just the right size for a family of 4 or 5. The X5 feels more nimble and less top heavy. In fact the X5 M-Sport feels more like a performance sedan. The X7 is outstanding IF you need that third row all the time. The BMW “Laser lights” even in reduced USA programming are the most advanced and brightest lighting system I have ever seen or used. It will light up road signs so far ahead of you, they look like blue and green dots. So much brighter than LED or HID. As mentioned in the review, the plastic cupholders on the X7 rear captain chairs are unforgivably cheap. Both the X5 and X7 oozes style and class in ultimate luxury and their build quality in materials used. How such a cupholders was used in a visible place is unforgivable. If you are getting the X7, pass on the captain chairs for the traditional 3 seat adjustable bench. The big X7 feels like a big car where the X5 feels like a athlete even on its base 40i engine trim. The X7 still feels like a BMW in that there is a connection to the road, MB and Range Rover do not have. It’s more of a drivers car even in this big of form. The X5 50i is a beast feeling and performing like a full “M” performance car. Both X5 and X7 can be optioned out identically so the X5 is every bit as over-the -top in the luxury department a similarly optioned out X7 can be. You will pay for such luxury as a highly optioned X5 50i is well over $100k and the X7 is another $12k. The X7 looks better in person and the front grill isn’t as large or out of place as the Audi Q8. The X5 is by far more handsome and more aggressive looking than any of them.

GLS would work best for this. I think X7 is a little small hence 3rd row legroom is crap.
Mock it as much as you want for the grill, but you have to admit that that's the best full-size SUV in the market right now.

Unpopular opinion. It’s very practical for a family of 6-7 especially the 3rd row. Car could’ve been better but I’m sure it’ll grown on me. Power output is amazing too. I’m sold lmao.

I was VERY apprehensive about the way this thing looks at first. But honestly, tough it may not be as sleek as a Range Rover, in person it's much better than you'd think and the grille is not quite the first thing you notice. It's bold but nothing fakakta, just a large, well proportioned, serious looking SUV that still manages to be fairly distinctive. Especially if you avoid the M design noise and get the right wheels.

The X7 looks pretty amazing in person (saw it at the Toronto Auto Show). Everything, even the giant grille, looks orders of magnitude better when you see it in real, and then you realize it all just works so well from a design perspective.

I bought one and it's awesome I love it and my family loves it. It's one of the best SUVs we have owned. It's well worth the money. I love the comfort and it drives so well. Its the ultimate driving SUV. It's better than the cullinan SUV we had cause it fits more and its a better price. I sold my cullinan SUV and I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to take it on a 6,000-mile road trip.

Production of the vehicle begun in 2018.

The rest Of the car looks great and it's obviously a great vehicle, but I would be a bit annoyed every time I looked at that grille.

Love the interior, and I actually like the design including the grille (but if people hate it and think it's ugly that's more than understandable). Though if I could change anything, I'd probably get rid of the rear seats and have more space for the occupants, or more room for the boot. Thanks for the video Matt!

@The Truth I think he was talking about the fact that inside those tips there are real pipes. They may not be the same shape and size as the tips, but at least they are there.
@The Truth Actually, nearly all of them have completely blocked exhaust tips while the pipes are behind rear bumpers and they point at the ground. Find a new Mercedes-Benz or an Audi (just to give you a couple of examples) and take a look, you'll see what I mean.
@The Truth Well, I'm not old fashioned, but sometimes older solutions are better. This BMW, for instance, is a touch more honest because of the way engineers created its exhausts and if exhaust pipes are behind rear bumpers and they don't even direct gases towards the rear, then fake tips are just poinless and unnecessary. Also, the carmakers might want to benefit from not having sporty exhausts, but they still just don't need any stylish fakery to keep their reputation high.
To sum up: I appreciate honesty, even though the BMW is not the most honest of them all, but you see what I mean.

Honestly, this car looks amazing. The big kidney grills suit the vehicle. They were only shocking at first because we were not used to them but now they look good on this vehicle.
Sat in one of these and absolutely loved it, the back was like a rolls Royce.
I'm more of a Merc girl but 2 seconds in this video I fell in love with this car. One thing I absolutely loathe about BMWs is the lack of fun and creativity in their dashboards

The plastic part where the rear cup holders are is probably because there is a pretty good chance that shoes are going to be dragged across it and a more expensive material will be ruined a lot faster.
It's close to the floor and is meant for cups and the ashtray... The few elements that aren't "premium" are the middle row cup-holder close to the floor and some buttons in the rear that you will barely touch or even see (seat controls in trunk and trunk buttons). Very sensible places to cut some costs.

I love this review. I am trying to decide between MB GLS 450 and the X7. I love the X7 cognac interior. The way you climbed from the second row to the third was actually helpful. My 10 year old son could easily maneuver from 2nd row to 3rd.

Awesome review, the truck driver blasting past you made me 😂😂 laugh. I'm a truck driver in the U.S. and wonder how that speed is allowed myself. 70 mph in most states east but jumps b/t 75-80 mph in western states. Really do enjoy your reviews, keep them coming.
